Haha, every time I time I heard, "I got an e-mail from a subscriber asking ...", it makes me wonder whether they really did. Anyway, good video! It'll be something I be trying soon.
I never heard this term before. I really like what Orton effect is doing to my photos. Also the process you have shown is very easy. It really helps photos taken with a smartphone, as smartphones make photos over sharp. Thank you Mark.
FINAALLYYY I've been wondering for so long how Daniel Kordan get these beautiful water colors effects and every time I tried to edit my image I couldn't find what effect would give the soft look he has. I can finally finish editing my hundreds of landscape photos I've collected over the years. Thanks!!
And I so appreciate you didn't start with "Hi Guys..." I have been hanging out with you here a lot these days. I know must of what you are showing but it's fun watching you teach these things.Hope you're well.
After binging on all your more recent videos that intro was like whoaaaaa where did this come from hahaha love it!! Excellent explanation, and as you said there are so many ways of doing this, but this was the best and easiest so far!
I liked your tutorial, im a digital artist and use photoshop a lot. If you use smart objects, your changes will be non destructive and you'll be able to tweak things. But as it stands in this video all your changes are permenant and unable to be modified after you do them. The end result is fantastic, I just wanted to point out that smart objects help you go back in time easier.
Old video but the effect still works great Mark. Plus I layered your effect on top of Luminar Flex's Orton Effect filter and came out with just the dreamy scene I had envisioned in my mind when I took my original image. Thanks for the info!
Dear Mark. Thanks for your work! I have a question: would this still be THE way to do the Orton Effect, or would you advise another way? Thanks in advance for your reply, Jacqueline
