Monk can be somewhat harder, your breathing for swimming is much shorter as well as your spear damage is weaker. Also pebbles can be much harder to navigate.
@itswindsy7861 yep that's correct, the main benefit of monk in my opinion would be the way gates work, and with remix menu you can toggle it on for everyones campaign.
as someone who has pretty much 100%'d the game, i can safely say that you are right. those pop snails are literally one of the most evil creatures in the game
I’ve beaten every slugcat. I was playing as saint once, and was taken by a spitter spider in that drainage area- it was going down, but ran into a snail. It fell into the pit, but I landed on a small ledge whilst having a seizure. The snail actually saved my life! Otherwise, they are little demons
When this vid came out I found it interesting but then I kinda forgot rain world existed, then a while later I got another rain world video recommended to me. In the beginning of December last year I watched more rain world videos and found out the lore, then I mentioned it to my friend. In January I bought the game and my friend and I have been playing it ever since. Thank you for introducing me to my latest hyper fixation/special interest, my blue lizard plush is sitting next to me as I’m writing this
YEEES!! the game is getting deserved spotlight!! Im sure you know about the DLC where the other slugcats campains are (and other stuff, but those arent that important). I recommend looking for it at sale (or just websites that sell it for cheaper prices). You cannot miss it, Im sure you will fall in love with the other slugcats. The game has a lot to offer (200h playtime i know what Im talking about xdd) I wouldnt mind letsplays from RW from you ^^ Good luck with this game!! hoping to see more.
I wont buy the DLC yet, first I wanna play Survivor to see how that goes. I just love this game and would like to play trough everything it has to offer eventually :)
@@KorinaKory yeah totally play the basic game first. It won't even let you game as others in dlc until you finish it. The game is art itself so enjoy it in your own pace
personally i'm not a huge fan of the DLC just cause i think it feels like it changes the world so much (thankfully it is it's own thing, rain world and rain world downpour are two separate canons), but i definitely agree that if you want more rain world it's the best way to get more rain world and is a fun experience.
OMG THE SAME HAPPENED TO ME, I got super obsessed with the game, knew all the lore and game mechanics Iike you before I got it, I’ve bought the dlc now And it’s really fun, gl with survivor! btw from what I know dropwigs can only be found as hunter and the downpour slugcats, survivor and monk don’t have them
Thanks for welcoming me, and for the campaigns... I already did lol. It's fine, honestly. I didn't even think to buy the game but I got so invested in the lore and that convinced me to get it. :)
Shift/z/x is actually super common keyboard platformer controls. It's a comfortable place to rest the hand flat and still let's you have thumb for space. It kinda surprises me that a lot of people find it weird, I wonder if its just because the universality of mouse has people too used to wasd? But yea. I'm not really sure what other controls you would use though, if you put movement on wasd there aren't any convenient spots for the right hand to control and having arrow keys+wasd is super cursed haha. Rhythm games also use those though, like Osu! has you use z/x even though the right hand is a mouse hand. I wonder if people just play modern platformers on controller? I tend to find keyboard+mouse preferable partly from being used to from the past but also platforming with a joystick is weird. Having all 3 actions+map available without only one finger for 4 face buttons is also nice. Rain world has a tooon of movement tech I couldn't imagine doing on a controller haha, it just feels much nicer having dedicated fingers for multiple movement directions as well as actions at all times. Also I'm amazed you went through drainage, especially as monk. Even as survivor, drainage can become an effective softlock for new players, getting through the leech tunnels after you fall down and literally cannot go back can be borderline impossible. If a new player complains about being stuck in drainage, i genuinely would tend to recommend restarting. You aren't losing anything really, and it would be faster to start over and follow iggy into industrial than escape drainage and deal with garbage haha. Its always fun watching people find their own way though. Despite watching dozens of playthroughs and buying tons of friends the game, I only recently stumbled across someone who didn't go to pebbles from the underhang after climbing the leg, but powered through across the entirety of the underhang and went up the wall instead. They just never went inside pebs at all haha, guess no neuron light for them lol.
I have gotten used to the controls at this point and kinda like them now. It was a rewarding challenge. Idk how I passed drainage (I spent 8 hours there, half of that just trying to get to the first shelter lol). Back then I didnt even realise there was a different way you could take... oh well. Too late now :]
this entire video somehow read my mind perfectly lol. i found rain world randomly, got extremely into the lore n stuff and the animation memes just like you, and my first playthrough was also on monk. the only difference probably is that i got the dlc but like it barely changes anything on monk. yeah this game is an easy 10/10 i would love to see more rain world content here
I rebound the controls to make it easier on myself (in the options menu) since my keyboard Doesn’t Have Arrow Keys. I rebound it to wasd to move, left shift to throw, e to grab and eat, and q for the map. You can do whatever you want though. Also drainage system is NOT recommended for your second region (or at all, I hate drainage) I’d recommend industrial for your next playthrough. It’s much easier than drainage. Also garbage wastes sucks, go through shaded citadel to get to shoreline (if you want obv) i have over 300 hours on this game lol I am obsessed
Yea, the controls... funny story, I found out you can change them when I already got used to these so I guess its too late now lol I went trough drainage because I didnt realise there was another way so thanks for the tip, next time industrial it is. I do hope I can also get to 300 hours on the game eventualy :)
i found the game when i was 11, non surprisingly this game was way too hard. mostly modded the game and eventuapy quit 11 hours into it, i iteracted a lot with the community for some reason tho. 3 years later, 320 hours, still haven't fully beaten the game!
Im not sure if youve figured it out already (based on watching half the video and it being 2 parts) but you can change the controls in the main menu in either options or settings, i dont remember where exactly, but it has input testing as well!
Hi Korina, season 6 and 7 of Nine Realms is out. Season 6 and 7 is better than the rest. You can review it if you want. By the way Rain World is so cute 😁😁😉❤❤
Thanks for informing me about Nine Realms but I feel a bit burned out with the Httyd brand and I wanna try new stuff. Im very glad you lile Rain World! :)
Monk can be somewhat harder, your breathing for swimming is much shorter as well as your spear damage is weaker. Also pebbles can be much harder to navigate.
Monk is easier overall with enemy spawns and some world changes but yeah they made it harder for the underwater sections for some reason and fp too
@itswindsy7861 yep that's correct, the main benefit of monk in my opinion would be the way gates work, and with remix menu you can toggle it on for everyones campaign.
You're also slower
You're as fast as Survivor, which is the default.

The reason why you remember stressful maps is because back then in the BC we had to so we could ether get ready or not go there again.

Nah no way, you can use them against leaches to clear paths.
