Somehow fumbled up the intro sequence, cutting off to the instanced area, before even entering the portal. My OCD forced me to do it properly again lol Also adjusted audio a tiny bit.
from what i got told on the exploration discord, this is because alterac valley was initially designed in an area adjacent to blasted lands, which no longer exists. you can see a remnant of blasted lands when you look closely: that orange terrain. alterac valley also went through some different iterations, and it looks like it might have been in the overworld once, just like winterfall, before it was cut and pasted into it's own map file... also seems to contain fragments of other developer maps too... it's really weird lol you can have a glance online... here for example an even older map of alterac valley: old.wow.tools/maps/PVPZone01/11/5/-7.000/5.000
the overworld will be done 100%. the problem right now is, that with the increased render distance and all the culling stuff disabled, the client comes to a crawl, because there is just so much stuff to be rendered. the reason are technical limitations on the 32 bit client (wotlk back then had no 64 bit client!) and the sometimes badly optimized code, which causes the fps to tank. 335a is bottlenecked by the cpu, and it does not use all threads. right now my plan is to do the remaining 2 battle grounds, all of the wotlk dungeons and raids, and then work on optimizing the client in order to increase performance dramatically. it's going to be something next year - i wanna do a complete kalimdor/eastern kingdoms/outlands/northrend video in single segment style like these videos here.
thanks... still working on improving voice over audio quality... and also frame rate, but that is just a limitation by the insane render settings and the bad 32 bit client lol

All that extra space behind the Alliance base makes me wonder if they wanted to do more with the surrounding area.

Nice video!
But a bit sad you didn't fly over the 2 troll areas made impassable with mountain walls around snowfall and iceblood
yeah, thought i will prb miss an area or two.. the map was just really huge when making the camera movement XD
A big project would be doing Eastern Kingdoms and Azeroth. Would have to be split across a lot of videos though :D

I like your video direction and camera works
