i listen to other songs often and analyse them like you recommended in another video this helps me. what would also help me is to have insight on pro so songs projects to see the structure and the elements that they use and when they use them.

Is all of this information applicable to the Reaper DAW? I'm just starting this journey and, in the past, I've only used Audacity for recording music. The reason I ask is that I don't want to buy Ableton when I can just download Reaper to give this a try.

My issue is building a track from intro to end especially the intro and heading into the first break, I either end up making it too long or just boring and incoherent. any tips?

Of course, and reaper has many great functions. Learn your daw, any daw and just make music;)
Is it possible to replace serum with vital(it's free)? I mean if you didn't have serum, would you buy it anyway or you would use vital instead?
I have had serum way before vitals existed. Vital is a very capable synth and can make some amazing thing Serum cannot;)
