    Absolutely brilliant tutorial. Please don't underestimate how helpful this will be to people. It will be appreciated by many I'm sure.
    I managed to get myself (mainly self-taught through UA-cam and a couple of studio days with a well-known trance producer) to a reasonable level of trance production a few years ago - though not quite professional release stage - but track construction, melody/bassline writing, knowledge of synths, basic sound design etc was there. But when it came to EQ-ing and removing unwanted frequencies from sounds, and optimal frequencies for bass, mids etc, I kind struggled to understand, and lost motivation to learn further. And eventually abandoned it. I currently have Logic Pro sat dormant on my Mac, and Focusrite Scarlett and Mackies up in the loft.
    This tutorial however seemed to trigger a bit of a spark. Maybe I'll fire up Logic again sometime.

    I noticed you used Rapid for the guitar sound (if I'm not mistaken). Is that the synth you would usually use for that type of sound? I seem to struggle to get a decent sounding guitar without turning to Kontakt.

    • @MettaGlyde

    Do you know if the lock midi feature you keep using can be done in logic?

    • @MettaGlyde
      @MettaGlyde  3 роки тому

      Thank you, Dave. We are unsure if Logic has that feature.

    • @DomHealy
      @DomHealy 3 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure it can be done in the same way as shown in Bitwig. You can lock the track(s) of course in Logic and then select multiple midi regions to view in the piano roll at the same time. But the problem is that if you move a note on one layer and there is a midi note underneath that is locked, you get a "Track locked" message and it automatically moves both notes back to where they were.

    I only got about 8 minutes in to the video. It's cool to see your process, but you're not actually explaining why you're making any of your choices... it just seems like a lot of trial and error, where you're dragging notes around randomly to see if they sound good. And if it's not random, you're not actually explaining the method behind what you're doing, which doesn't actually help me to learn how to do it myself except to maybe also just drag stuff around randomly to see if it sounds good.
