I counted 172 or 173 cars. I may be off one way or the other but that's close. Not to mention it was an awesome long NS mixed freight! Thanks JT! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Cool trains and long ones too. Speaking of the railroad signals I noticed in Folkston some of the lights are dimmer than others. 😊 That BSNF training was splitting the wind ..wow! Love the NS locomotives .❤😊We always look forward to seeing your fur babies at the end. Thanks Mr JT. Loved all of this.❤😊Cool "Hope" event 😊
Nice to see you made it to Hamilton, Ohio. I live here and work here as a school bus driver. Trains are all day long, everyday here in Hamilton. Keep it Moving!!!!
10:10 "Those lights are flashing, cameras have a hard time picking that up" Hmm. I wonder if a self-driving Tesla or other self-driving vehicle could have that quirk. A railroad crossing would be a heck of a time to find out.🤔
If your camera's shutter speed is a multiple of the crossing lights flashing rate it will null out. The same thing used to happen with some of the old Super 8 and 16mm film cameras. I used to like the longer trains in the 60s and 70s before sealed bearings. The smell of warm bearing oil would mix with the smell of creosote, brake shoes and maybe a little milkweed. If somebody would bottle that smell I'd buy it. Excellent video, liked it much. Try to stay cool, thanks JT!
Hey JW, love the videos you produce. You really put in a lot of time and effort to provide all of us with great footage of the area trains. Can’t wait till tomorrow dude !!!!
Thank you for another video from Hamilton, Ohio, Jaw Tooth! You saw some nice trains on 25 August 2023. I noticed some center beam flat cars that appeared at 14:36 in this video that I have seen on another UA-cam video channel. The six center beam flat cars contain Smart Side which is made by Louisiana Pacific in the plant in Sagola, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. Jason Asselin lives in East Kingsford, Michigan down the street from the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad tracks. He catches the E&LS trains that bring the raw materials, pulp wood log cars and tank cars of glue, and the empty center beam flat cars to the Louisiana Pacific plant. The finished Smart Side loaded center beam flat cars, empty tanks cars and empty pulp wood flat cars return past his location. Jason has been asking people to let him know if they see any of the loaded center beam flat cars with Smart Side in their area. I am going to send him a link to this video so he can see six cars of Smart Side in your video. I enjoyed watching this video. It was nice to be back at the CSX tracks near the Water Treatment Plant for Hamilton, Ohio. It has been a while since we have been at this location to watch trains.
✋They look like they were 🎸singing 🎸and and 💃dancing💃 to the 🚂train going buy. Great spot for a festival next to the tracks.🚂 And yes I could hear the train fine with her 🎶singing🎶.🚂😁
Good long trains, but makes it hot for you🥵 thank you for braving the heat! Hamilton wouldn't be Hamilton without long trains. Thanks for the video, go cool off! Roll on
A couple of long trains and even some setup work for the Hope rally. Hard to beat that. Too bad YT is hard on copyrighted music. No need to get demonetized over incidental music for sure.
Glad you enjoyed it! I think it was yesterday that the rooster made an appearance. Did you get to see him? Bryson has a rooster and some hens that I am going to put in a video also
I missed a few good trains last month due to heat. Too wiped out to notice they were coming. The first had a caboose in the lead as a shoving platform. It really irritated me to miss that one!
Just this year, just your videos, I think I've seen more than a thousand tankcars full of ethanol. Seems like this country runs on grain alcohol. That train at the water plant had enough to fill a reservoir. Grab a straw and some orange juice. Did you happen to notice that DPU on that long train at the water plant had a Harley Davidson engine? 12:30 🤣🤦♂ They were doing sound checks, JT. That black covered hopper was extra gothic. Thanks for letting us tag along. I never miss a video. I don't know how many you have but I'm pretty sure I've seen every one of them over the years since I subscribed wayyyyyy back I won't even try to think how long ago. I'm pretty sure I remember that paper airplane. That Pan Am boxcar, tho… did they fire that dragster up? See y'all later!
I cannot believe how long these trains are in your area. At least they are moving at a decent speed. 29:02 Pan Am box car. Cool. But I liked the name on aircraft better.
Generally...you have to be fairly close to them to make out what they may be carrying. One rule of thumb for freight cars in general is, the denser (heavier) the cargo, the shorter the car. So, a tank car carrying corn syrup will always be shorter than one carrying liquefied natural gas. If the cars are carrying diamond-shaped placards, that indicates hazmat cargo (hazardous material). Sometimes the reporting marks (the 4-digit letter code next to the car number) tell you the entity that owns the car which will _sometimes_ give you a clue what might be inside, but a lot of them are owned by leasing companies (GATX, TILX, UTLX, GBRX for example) which makes this less useful. Oftentimes hazmat tank cars will have the type of chemical stenciled on the car, but as before, you would have to be fairly close to make out what it says, depending on the speed of the train, and if on video, the quality or settings of the camera being used to record it.
At the end of the video, my attention is drawn to the dragster being prepared. Is it there just for show, or is it going to take part in a race? Competitions with these monsters are always spectacular!
That is an odd phenomenon with the lights flashing in the one scene as you point out there not flashing in the video. Then you pan away and when you pan back then they appear to flash normally.
When the frame rate of the camera, matches the flash rate of the lights, the lights will appear to stop. What is more impressive is filming a helicopter when the blades stop mid flight, but it is still flying.
I want to try that with a helicopter. In January the utility company is going to be using a helicopter on my farm to cut the trees back from the power lines. Hopefully I will be home and will get to film it
LED lights and cameras never get on well with each other. Many of the emergency vehicles here in the UK now have one static light somewhere in the LED light bars because speed cameras couldn't see the blue lights on in the photos and the process of getting the speeding ticket voided involves a lot of paperwork if its not showing .
There are some cars that are pretty obvious what they carry but I always wonder what is in the box cars like the ones on the BNSF powered train. It could be almost anything. 😊😊😊
I would rather get stung by those hornets than be sick like I am right now. I hope it's only a cold but I am miserable. Today I was laying down and heard a train on my scanner so I filmed it even with being sick. I knew a train would come through town today since it was a Tuesday. I will have that short video posted tomorrow
Interesting to see center-beam railcars loaded with "LP SmartSide" siding loaded on them which are manufactured in the UP of Michigan that Jason Asselin's UA-cam channel films all the time.
I have been looking for the LP cars here since production has ramped up at the Sagola plant. Jason will be happy about the crossover. Thanks for pointing out. 👉
JT. The Revival should set up camp in Milwaukee where we have the sad distinction of being tbe 6th deadliest County for opioid deaths in the US. The song Long Black Train has a lot of Truth in it and many people need to do some soul searching and turn Their lives around before it's too late. It did appear NS was trying hard to live up to the title of that song but it appeared that near the end of the train by the water plant were 6 centerbeam cars of LP Smart Siding which should be coming from the upper peninsula of Michigan and went by Jason Asselins house! Between the trains and the number of people in the parking lot it's the busiest that area has been since the paper mill was open. Also at 8:55 it appears to be another car from LP of Smart Siding

Question for you JT I’m new to UA-cam for Railfanning what do you use to edit your videos.
The dragster was there just for display. Did you notice the Heritage locomotive going past it?
I use VideoPad. I have tried several of them and VideoPad is the easiest to use
It would be more interesting (to me, at least) if you could comment on the loaded or MT status of a majority of the cars. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the idea! Thanks for watching also
I have been watching these for a while now, how different the way you run trains in the States compared with the UK and Europe.

15.42 165 was the best of 3 counts you dont make life easy by focus in and out and moving along the train
