You know, a while back Drayton was doing a live stream and he was getting seriously introspective and expressing alot of self doubt about his narration abilities. DIB was the first railfan channel I ever subscribed to and is still hands down my fave. I always get a history lesson (one of my favorite aspects), I get impeccable video and audio (the drone work lately is fantastic), I get detailed info on the equipment (frigging bonus) and, up until lately, I got Drayton. I get that you always want to improve your content Mr. D. But don't sell yourself short. EVER! You can narrate with the best.
I'd have to echo Arthur's words. I've been watching Delay in Block videos from NZ for a couple of years now, and Drayton's voice IS Delay in Block for me. Keep up the great work, always appreciated here.
100% agree. You have a great voice (and talent) for narration Drayton.
Couldn't agree more!! Drayton does a perfect job!
Yep! I'm with Arthur too!
Love that you did a video on the Albany & eastern it’s my home town railroad. All the crew members are all super friendly.
A clean looking Dash 8.
Loved the Talgo 8. They will be missed when they're finally gone.
Those empty Sidings would be great for storage of Railway cars 👍👌👍 additions revenue
Loved working shortlines since May of 2020, when I started on one in Iowa, and always will. Not only do they treat employees like family, instead of a mere number, compared to my experience with two class ones, but most definitely motive power and equipment is maintained with care as well as shown here with the A&E.
Which Iowan shortline do/did you work for?
@@jonathangreenlees4772 I worked for Boone and Scenic Valley before I then went to Dakota Minnesota & Eastern/CP and now at Adirondack Railroad here in NY
Lots of fun -- thanks for the peel into operational activities of a short line, very cool.
Not the same without Drayton's voice over
Where is Drayton may I ask
It really really isn't.. it's like watching Disney narrate pentrex.......... not saying the current narrator is doing bad.....it just ain't right.
Why did he stop narrating
@@IGuessIDoThings did he stop narrating forever? Gosh I hope not
Drayton is the man I like his voice its really soothing maybe he's on vacation or has a sore throat I hope he didn't quit
Whoever said the timber industry in the US is dead? Needs to spend time on this railroad and your videos. Excellent job. Appreciate the details on the industries.
Another excellent video. In terms of production quality and subject matter, Delay In Block is the Pentrex of the 21st century. I keep checking back regularly for new videos. This narrator has a firm, authoritative voice, more like a school teacher, better suited perhaps to more intense documentaries like 'Ancient Aliens' or 'The Killer Next Door'. One watches train videos to wind down from the intensities of life and I can't be the only person who found Drayton's soothing tones very relaxing. Come back, Drayton - your narration was very much part of the whole Delay In Block experience.
It's funny, I live in a town in Pennsylvania also called Lebanon and also pronounced 'Lebanin'. If you pronounce it LebaNON here, you're wrong and probably not from around here lol. I learned that the hard way when I moved here from NJ.
What???
You didn't run the power cow to Eugene to catch the train? Awww ..
I would've loved to hear the engineer's comments then! LOL
Great filming and locations
That was a great premiere and I like the narrator's voice
he does a solid job
Thanks for this very nice video! My favorite parts were: (3) a West Coast Cabbage, (2) the SW9 footage, and (1) some glimpses of covered hopper unloading conveyers, especially the one near the beginning in the blacktop paved transfer facility as I'm currently working on a similar conveyer for my HO team track. Cheers from Wisconsin!
Drayton please come back. It's not the same without you. Your voice was so relaxing
Thank you for re-issuing this video with your new narrator and whatever updates you made to the original video, Drayton. It was nice to view this video again!
1841 has got one heck of a horn! 😊 Great vid as usual.😊
Great video. The 8-40B models are my favorite. The bigger cousins 8-40C and 8-40CW are okay, but are not my favorites.
Aerc 9252 is an 8-40C model, so we have both models
Another great video, guys! The 1841 looks factory fresh. No dings, dents, bumps, bruises, or scratches to speak of. A really nice unit there. I think the addition of some Southern Pacific (or similar) type "wings" on the nose, plus AE logo or initials would liven up the front of the unit. And boy, I really hope the P&W keeps the 1501 alive and can refurbish her to look as nice as A&E's 1841. Anyone else notice a missing coupler at 43:41?
Great narration and excellent footage
Hearing mention of the 1996 UP/SP merger brought back bad memories of how disastrous it was for the shipping community when it began.
I believe aide from the stellar footage it was Drayton's "pentrex'- esque narration that drew people back in and generally to this channel wtf happened.........???????????????? nostalgia and the solid historical admiration
ecognition he gave to DIB productions and pentrex remasters in his delivery is what made DIB such an admirable, respectable documentary force amongst railfans.....
BRING BACK DRAYTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He’s still there but has hired someone to narrate, so he says. The content is the same. You’ll get used to the new narrator. Give it time.
This guy is okay but he just doesn't have the same love for the subject matter. I miss Drayton.
@@wesw9586 I like the new narrator tho. He reminds me of distant signal.
@@soarinskies1105 but it's like Danny Harmon doing a video on something he doesn't know or care anything about. Draytons passion was one of the biggest draws to this content.
I love your videos DIB keep up the great work❤
Excellent Video as Always
It's great You guys Showcase a neat Shortline Railway for future new rail Customers ...In God Prayers..
It has about 10 customers or more if I’m not wrong
Excellent video, the drone shots are superb - thanks.
Very interesting and informative video. Like learning the history of the smaller railroads. Great job of putting this together, as always !!!
It sounds like a green frog production, with that guys voice!
Good video as always but I miss Drayton. The energy just isn't the same.
Awesome video
Camera work and narration were both excellent. This is as good as it gets 💯
Great video sir 🤩🤩🥰🥰❤❤😍😍
I cant wait!!
Thank you for the great videos.
I used to have video footage of 1807 and 5935, but the Locomotives are long gone now 😥
In fact, I live 35 miles from this railway, and would also recommend to you the CBRL, Coos Bay Rail Link
It's odd seeing DIB out here in the PNW, If y'all are still out here on the 26th of this month, the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad is running excursions, Should be steam powered. I recommend the route quite a bit as it follows the water for most of the route and is beautiful.
Love this channel❤️🚂
A and E certainly takes good care of Ol' 1841. Looks like it was repainted yesterday
We need Drayton back
Hard to tell, but the conductor looks like Forrest, the son of the owner of Whistle Stop Trains. I know him and his father….just depends on when this was filmed as he doesn’t work on the A&E anymore…
Again, another great video from you in the Willamette Valley. I have noticed those boxy grey cars on the last Cascades train you chased, are all over the country. BTW, the dangerous Talgo 6 trainsets had much more comfortable seats, and to me they felt and looked premium even in the coach class cars. The Talgo 8 has much thinner seats, and are less comfortable. Maybe I should take a ride on the Cascades train while they still have those grey boxy cars before they get replaced.
Why were they dangerous?
My hometown and next year we will get our 2nd steam locomotive
Great paint scheme, almost like the old Reading RR. I also like the regular cab, not the wide cab crap.
DiB's been doing dabs and this JibJab is freaking me out. Where's the regular guy that does these, not this weird movie trailer VO clone?
Nice locomotive awesome horn
Awesome video 🚅🚃👍
Awesome video brother.... #bringdraytonback
Great video! Seeing the log cars made me curious if this was filmed a while back, or have the logs off the Mill City branch resumed?
Great video...Be interesting if they use Trap Railway grants and restoration of the port of Tillamook branch line 😀👍😉😄
BRING BACK DRAYTON!!!!!!!
no
@@TrainsNStuff 🤣 please..I don't know how I' ll do it but I subscribe TWICE
WOW! What a great sounding GE
*Nice Awesome*
Awesome!👍👍
43:40 Huh, anyone else catch that? Rear rider. Draw bar has been broke so car dept welded a bracket on to hold the EOT.
Wow… Never noticed that!
You do get to hear Drayton @ 46:31
I see the "freight bandit" tag every day in Cincinnati Ohio. It's so strange to see it out in Oregon
Amazing Video!
Nothing wrong with a solid short line video
Love these videos!!Great Channel$$
Very good video!
The new voice is better to understand for me. Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
We need more Dray!
Man the new Narrator is a tough listen…sounds like talking to a male Siri or Alexa. Just cant do it anymore
Ha ha ha
K5HLL for the win!
Id love to meet you and show you my favorite spots
That dash 8 is hot
why is your voice different than before delay in block productions?
Excuse my ignorance,
is the locomotive green and yellow paint scheme an outgrowth of Chicago Northwestern? as seen on the Albany & Eastern
In the day, I grew up in a city served by the Chicago Northwestern and the Milwaukee railroads.
Engine colors:
has anyone ever done a video specifically to show the different railroad locomotive color schemes. I don't suppose the railroads have copyrighted their paint and I know they change from time to time that might make an interesting topic.
Unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer this new narrator to Drayton, and I hope Drayton continues to use him instead of his own voice. The new narrator reminds me of green frog productions voice. The new narrator gives me a sort of old times feel like distant signal, which is the kind of tone of voice I like to hear when listening to anything to do with railroad history.
Excellent video.
Originaly I thought it was an Ex-Chicago & Northwestern loco because of the paint scheme
Somebody spent a lot of money to have mint conditions on the track & tie side of R.R. treat !
Ik
WHERE'S DRAYTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
literally the only reason i purchased the repasted version of the LS&I tape was because y'all did such a good job of it........ please don't fuck this up....pardon my.........errrr....uh.......English
I like the videos, but I think Drayton was the better narrator. There's just something about the low tones of the new narrator that I don't like. But that's my opinion.
I'm new to this sport so can someone say what engine this "hammer head" is ?? These cars much be mostly empty for just one engine. So cool....😊
@0:16 As well as the Rick Franklin Corporation.
what happened to my buddy drayton?
Be exciting and interesting if UP and BNSF TRACKAGE RIGHTS TO ALBANY AND EASTERN AND OTHER SHORTLINES TO DO THE LOCAL SWITCHING AND TO HELP GROW CUSTOMERS BASE 😀😄..SINCE IT SEEMS BIG CLASS 1S RAILWAYS WANT TO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS BUSINESS??
Why does the short Amtrak need a pusher
The cab car doesn't have an engine
I thought that wreck was due to driver error
Why American locomotives have hammer head...?
nothing against the new narrator .......but it's like all of a sudden the history channel took over......... wtf happened ?????????????? it's like the second death of Pentrex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s Pentrex?
I thought this was Albany NY
I am not sure where this railroad is
Oregon
@J Hughes Yeah it's horrible here... Portland dictates all our lives and it's a cesspool. Uh oh yer getting me going on politics! 😂
@J Hughes HA HA, Only in Potlandia, Eugene and some of Salem. The rest of the state is all republican Red
One thing I like doing is reading old box cars and raps over lumber to see where they were made at. So video shots are very bad for doing this.
Not the same without your narrative.
Excellent video! Thank you DIB !
This is not the same. Drayton plz come back to narrate.
new narrator is very robotic and computer like. as well as speaks too fast which only makes him sound more like a computer voice.
not a fan at all, could only do about 5mins
Must be a bummer to run long nose first.
Gotta lose that narrator. Not the same.
Not worth watching, if you're a railfan, all the trains are heavily edited & 10 car shots with one view 10 to next view on all trains, in this channel, if you want FULL TRAINS," this content, is not for railfan, action unless well railfaning, as a train passes, you turn away from, them = this is great = very well produced, nice shots & this is more geared for pick ups & delivery information, NOT ,for full trains, & dose well with, area information the rail line, service, to facility et- factory or lumber yards, & other business alot of multiple, information the local & outer, parts, of states towns & cities,& dates,& how many years the railroads, been in service,,
Hate the new narrator.ill stop watching if its not changed.
We in Queensland Australia cannot run our hood locos long end leading due to a fatal shunting incident.
