Hi everyone!! I hope you all are having a good Pride Month!! I'm currently working on an update to the Queer Resource which should be out in a week or two. I've also decided that I want to make the resource a collaborative document to lighten the load of the project on me and to allow other people in the community to contribute to it. To be safe, I have created a submission form for the document which people can create and submit their own entries to. This will allow me to review and edit entries to the document before they are published on the public copy of the Queer Resource. As it will be a collaborative project, I will also be including a contributions page if you make an entry and want your name featured on the document! If you have a topic or person in queer history of special interest to you, know of or run a queer owned small business you want to share, or anything of that sort feel free to follow this link to review the (loose) submission guidelines, you can also find a link to the submission form there: docs.google.com/document/d/1iJDCk7Pzha4LlO6ffw2RhdpLW3Seeec4qUQ-XrWq594/edit?usp=sharing
I went to my first pride event ever, it was a smaller scale one in my town. It was amazing seeing people that are in the same group as me and hearing a lot of other people that accepted me! This is the first time being openly out to complete strangers and it was so validating! Happy pride from a bi demigirl! :D
Round of applause for that biologist at the end of the video I love and appreciate him so much for explaining such things and I haven't been so happy hearing it from an actual biologist 🙌👏🙌👏🙌🤜🙌👏🙌👏
That last TikTok is a great way to explain gender/being trans to people. Because yeah, sex and gender are different things, sex is what you're born as and gender is just a social construct we've made up by assigning certain characteristics to certain labels. "Your gender isn't real" is such a stupid statement because I know you're trying to hate me but you're right, neither of our genders are real, they're just concepts to sort people based on what society told has told us since we were in diapers.
Is it, though? We agreed that sex&gender were the same thing... until a second ago, & rather than describe 'gender role' with different words, we confused ourselves into not knowing how to define male & female (those are the scientific words for the sexes, by the way). Not even a year later & we forgot the difference between sex & gender again.
GUYS i have nowhere to talk about this but i just came out as transmasculine to my aunt and SHES SUPPORTIVE IM SHAKING AND CRYING shes the only member of my family that im out to !!!!
Happy Pride everyone 🏳🌈🏳⚧ Almost 55 Years ago, people like us, lead by black trans women, started to fight back against the cops that threatened their lives and the lives of those they loved. I think especially now, as it gets harder again for trans people and other queer people in the us and some other countries, we should remember that the first pride, wasn't a peaceful parade, but a REVOLUTION !!!! Have a gay day/night :)

Happy pride❤🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️🌈! I actually live in TN and got to go to a pride festival yesterday as well as march in the parade. While we were there we met one of the people who got the drag ban blocked and declared unconstitutional. And we've gotten the news that the block is at least semi permanent, I think they'd have to reword it to get it back and that may also get blocked but it might not be as bad as the original version was (the way they vaguely worded the originally posted a danger for all people who present differently enough from their birth gender). Luckily my city didn't seem to enforce it too much. I think they pretty much just said to make full on drag events 18+ but now it doesn't really matter.
1:43 that hit me in the feels 😭 it’s so sad that young trans people have believe that they don’t get to grow old just for being trans. Every person has the right to get to see themselves grow old and grey, just to think that that is something trans people have to fear is heartbreaking 💔I hope that one day we can live in a world where seeing a trans person with grey hair isn’t so rare. To all the trans people in the comments, keep going, you are so loved and cherished, I am so proud of how far you have come and so excited to see where you will go ❤🏳⚧

I know that teacher will probably never see this, but I hope she knows how much that simple act is appreciated by us. If any teachers at all are reading this, please understand how much it means to support your students in the lgbtq+ community. They are most likely bullied or ignored by their peers, so it helps much more than you know to respect them. And if you're a teacher that thinks that this community is "unholy" or "going against biology" you're wrong. Pick up a book. Your own students, minors, learned this before you.
the one where that lady said she "worships satan" and was like telling im trans at people was really funny cuz thats what some people think trans people do lmao
Let me just say, the urge to send that last one to my dad was so so strong, but I resisted, that doesn't mean I'm not gonna though, I will send it, just, when I'm ready to
So I’m thinking of coming out to my mum as genderfluid. Both my parents know I like women and they’re completely fine with it. I haven’t told them that I’m genderfluid, they don’t care how I dress or present but I haven’t told them cuz I was worried they wouldn’t get what genderfluid means. My mum surprised me the other day, when we were talking about pride month, when she mentioned a genderfluid celebrity and knew what it meant. I want to tell her but I’m worried my dad won’t get it and will treat me differently (not badly just different) cuz he won’t know how to treat the situation. Help I’m conflicted.
Though I love the sentiment of that, I have to disagree with some of the points made in the last one. It sounds to me like he's implying people only transition to match their physical attributes with what others expect of their gender. In my subjective experience, this isn't the case. Though wanting to be more physically aligned with the sex characteristic that the society I was raised in assigns to my fem-leaning identity does play a significant role in my goals for transition, vastly more important is just being comfortable. Not feeling awkward and gross in my body even when I'm alone. Being able to thing and feel properly. I feel like oestrogen has unlocked my brain. I can feel, physically and emotionally, how I could before testosterone poisoned my brain and took my body hostage, and more.
