Here's why I love your channel so much - you're honest and genuine, which is hard to find on social media. I love that you recognize that John carrying that sink uphill to surprise you was a romantic gesture. My Pops, God rest his soul, did little things for my Mom all the time. He wrote notes, picked flowers, danced her around the kitchen, bought some little something he knew she would enjoy, a million different things. My Mom is a very intelligent woman who always understood that those small things were worth infinitely more than jewelry, cars, trips, whatever. God Bless you and yours!! Mary that was such a beautiful story with your husband going back to get that old sink for you. Romance isn’t chocolates and flowers, it’s how our husbands care for us. Putting gas in the car, cleaning off the snow etc. Those are the true romantic things. Something that I realized years ago, was that I had to think about how I treat my best friend compared to how I treat my husband. How do I talk to my best friend versus how do I talk to my husband? And that helped me take a mental notice of how I treated my husband, and it has changed my marriage. It wasn’t my idea it was some thing I read but that really resonated with me. And my husband IS my best friend, and I am his.

Hi Mary! The Silhouette cuts as many materials as the Cricut, if not more. The Silhouette 4 can actually cut a little deeper than any of the Cricut versions. There is even a Silhouette Pro that cuts wider materials. And they make 3D printers and multiple other machines. I agree that the Cricut software is easier to use. However there is more freedom of design with the Silhouette. My sister has the Cricut - newest one, there is definitely more that I can do more easily than she can. For anyone that doesn't have either one of these machines I would recommend getting either one, you won't regret it! Get what you can afford, there's lots of people selling their "older" versions for a great price. Stay warm Mary!

First I’d like to say that listening to your channel is always such an interesting thing. Very helpful and inspirational. I just recently was introduced to the new paints on the market and have been refurbishing a few pieces. I probably would not of tried such a project had I not watched your videos. The family cats are about as interesting to watch as you doing your magic. Yesterday I watched one of your spring gardening clips and the cats were such a joy to see following you about. It’s plain that you love and adore both of them.

Thank you for your creativeness, kindness, honesty and craft ideas. Also for your bravery with power tools. I bought a miter saw last October to use to cut vinyl flooring with. I had a long time friend teach me how to use it. I have since cut wood pieces for craft projects. I made a temporary small step deck to replace the prior steps off of my big deck. Seeing you and others on UA-cam successfully work with power tools, gave me the confidence to try myself. I figured if you all can do it, so should I be able to do it.😀. Hi Mary - The Cricut Create has a special rotary knife to cut fabric it is much like a Rotary cutter we use for cutting fabric except it is very small. I have two Silhouette Cameos and 4 Cricut machines and I agree with you that the Cricut is user friendly for beginners. I like you, love my Silhouette. Thank you for being faithful to your channel we on the other end look forward to them. BTW, Ephraim is my kind of guy, I love cooking with my grandsons!

I lost my husband in August of 2018. I never really realized all the things he did automatically that I didn’t know about. Just a small for instance....a few months after he passed, I was looking at the thermostat, and it said replace battery. I thought, what battery. And then, I came to realize that so many things I took for granted were done by my husband without my even knowing....Sometimes, I just say out loud, Thank You for everything.
That is so true....i have trouble with the a/c thermostat..i call him get the info & adjust the temp...but this time i wrote it down...don't have to call him all the time..

I bought my first cameo to cut fabric to do applique - many years later - I never cut any appliques! lol You can cut fabric with the cameo - it is just different from the cricut.

You talk about your past life in the Amish community and if it is not too personal I would be curious to know why you came out of that community and when. When I worked in Chicago near on 40 years ago, I was always fascinated by the Amish families that would come through the train station. They always struck me as gentle and humble souls. You have those qualities.

I lost my husband in August of 2018. I never really realized all the things he did automatically that I didn’t know about. Just a small for instance....a few months after he passed, I was looking at the thermostat, and it said replace battery. I thought, what battery. And then, I came to realize that so many things I took for granted were done by my husband without my even knowing....Sometimes, I just say out loud, Thank You for everything.
That is so true....i have trouble with the a/c thermostat..i call him get the info & adjust the temp...but this time i wrote it down...don't have to call him all the time..
Mary I LOVE your channel! I can relate to your winter day as I am in central Alberta up in Canada and today it is -31 Celsius. I have a Cameo, which I spend so many wonderful hours creating with and you have provided me with so much inspiration to be creative and give things a try! Your trash to treasure episodes are so much fun to watch and I have become a real fan of browsing thrift stores for great finds! The Cameo can cut Fabric always has been able too. I have to say the Silhouette is a Far Better machine than the Cricut ( my opinion I've had both)
The cricut maker can cut material. The cricut air can cut fabric if you use heat and bond on it before cutting.

I miss Ohio!!! I can as born at OSU and grew up in Grove City. We live in Fayetteville NC now and we don’t see much snow. 😢 the last time we had any snow was 3 years ago.
I live in Central Ohio. We could house swap for a couple weeks. Have about a foot of snow and expecting 6-12 more this week.

I bought my first cameo to cut fabric to do applique - many years later - I never cut any appliques! lol You can cut fabric with the cameo - it is just different from the cricut.

Mary, you are such a lovely lady. I so enjoy watching your videos and seeing your beautiful home and its surroundings. I do have a question that I would like you to answer if you can. You talk about your past life in the Amish community and if it is not too personal I would be curious to know why you came out of that community and when. When I worked in Chicago near on 40 years ago, I was always fascinated by the Amish families that would come through the train station. They always struck me as gentle and humble souls. You have those qualities.
