Hey, When we say "News" is hidden behind a paywall we are talking about content like this x.com/upwvideogame/status/1806317524490797161. As stated if it needs to be behind a paywall for the game to be made then it's understandable but it would also be great promo for the game.
Hey guys just to correct, absolutely none of our release news is paywall locked. We do put some animations, music, and art in there for early viewing. TBA 2025 is the current official release window. We pride ourselves on transparency. Thanks for your support!
How is it the KTR crew don't know that HyperFocus Games is the most transparent wrestling game developer in the industry right now? Perhaps you or Sam Vallely could do an interview on this channel?
I just dont see how this is not a good sign. When normally fans always say. Push it back until it's ready. We at least have a developer that's being transparent. Gamers cant have it both ways. You can't say hurry up and come out. Then when it does and it fails you can't say well they should've pushed it back. Let them keep it in the oven until it's ready.
fighting games including wrestling are one of the hardest genres to make. tbh it will be surprising if this game with a minuscle indie team ever gets released at all
I have no problem whatsoever with the demo being delayed. It's a sign that they're legitimately trying to produce the best product possible. Good things are worth waiting for, and UPW has legit potential to be a 2K killer. Let Sam & the team cook.
This isn't a AAA wrestling game like WWE 2K. Games like this don't take notice of major releases happening so they can make sure not to collide with them (and even then, WWE doesn't do that...those games are coming in March regardless of what else is set to release). So that's never going to be a problem, games like this release when they're ready and hope for the best...and no matter how good this game is, word of mouth is the only thing going to sell it. The creators already know this isn't going to make them billions of dollars...it's as indie and indie games get, it got its launch off of kickstarter...we ARE the community for this.
After AEW FF being the rush job it was I'm fine with it being delayed..like 99% of us Kickstarters backers are it's clear that they are cooking and have a passion to make it as good as possible, the delay for the demo sucks sure, but as they said it doesn't delay the release of the full game and some of the changes they made actually going to help them do things quicker so!
How about we wait 20 years for it to come out then? How about 30+ years? I mean, if you base it on the longer it takes, the better it will be. So my suggestion is to bring it out in 50 years time, just so the game is awesome.

I personally glad because we will get a polished and finished game unlike AEW FF. The gameplay looks good and them taking their time to perfect the AKI animations is great. I heard from their Discord they will have the leaning table/ladder feature from SVR where you could lean a ladder on the ropes and jump onto another ladder. They also have a great creation suite and they have community creations. It's crazy to me how long it took 2k to add special guest ref yet Ultra Pro Wrestling has that. Also the ability to throw weapons, blood stains and weapons will never disappear.
This is NOT bad news what so ever. After the bug infested 2K products and AEW games failures, I'll take the delay. At least UPW gives a damn to out put out quality.
Honestly sam has been vocal about the reasons why he does Patreon. He has also been vocal about a potential delay, he spoke on this even before the delay happened, Don't be confusing Sam's way of solid transparency with 2k devs way of shady operating.
As much as i want a demo, i will NOT complain about this game taking longer to make. I have high hopes for this game, and i want it to be good when it launches.
I agree this game has too much competition next year. WWE 2k5, GTA 6, Marvel versus Capcom 2, etc. and there’s a rumor that 2K 25 will come out during fourth-quarter next year
The longer ultra pro wrestling takes the more money they will spend on it and sooner or later they will run out of money if the game isn't finished by then its never coming out
this game is a massive grift that has been going for YEARS. the MAIN FLAW of this "game" is that character models are absolutely garbage. the game simply looks **bad**. the character models (like the animations) are ripped from another source and frankensteined into a monster-proportioned bastardization of the AKI animations they admit they are blatantly ripping off. the character models having such INSANE proportions throws all the animations off and the i would GAURANTEE one of the ABSOLUTE CORE ISSUES of this game is the animators realizing that stealing animations from one game and character models from another DOES. NOT. WORK. if you took an AKI character in a game, made his size twice as large (like melonbread does with codes, for example), obviously you will immediately get clipping issues with EVERY animation. a punch, a kick, a grapple, flying attacks, ground attacks, submissions, ring entry, ring exit, EVERY animation is going to be wrong. i would bet the develop just assumed they could "make this work" but i told them YEARS ago at this point they would hit this issue eventually and realize "holy crap we fugged up" and at that point if they already had a big following, customers, etc, it would blow up in their face because the game simply looks like shit and they fully understand if they release a game that looks like this it's ogre for the grift. no more drip release = no more money. quit falling for this shit. it's clearly this dude's life to grift you guys, and he's clearly been spending this money going around, contacting his idols, talking to old wrestlers, flying all over the world, etc. i called this YEARS ago on discord. good thing i didn't waste any money. i'm glad he's living the life he wants while you guys expect a real game lol. just play the n64 games. quit just giving your money. how much have you paid for nothing?
What 2k window?😂 2k window last about 2 weeks. As we've seen with 2k24. People fall off quick. Because 2k is always broken and disrespect fans constantly with my faction. Not to mention after that new car smell it's the same ol crap from the previous year.
@Money_1188 Exactly, 2k's piss poor products with a fresh coat of bum ass paint. 2k needs a foot put right up it's inconsistently uninspired non creative weak greedy azz

@jbarnacles I was just speaking to you like 2 days ago in their Discord server
I was speculating 2025 since the demo got delayed, but they saved 6 months of work by fixing the animation pipeline.

AEW FF being a rush job?
It took four years to come out.

@dhenderson1810 Are you slow? Mark Khan rushed the game, and even the developers said it wasn't finished themselves. 🤦🏾♂️

I just know as soon as it comes out I'll most likely never be playing wwe 2k again. So im still excited!
Same !

How do you know this won't be crap?
It's a possibility however the original discussion was taking extra time vs just putting something out regardless of quality. Hoping for the better.
Just like I predicted, it was gonna be delayed until 2025.
No need to rush out the door. Take the time to make a good product

I can wait 2 more years as long as the game is not rush. Quality over quantity. I want to see this game at its best 👌
Why not 5 more years? 10? 20?
Wouldn't matter how long it took to come out, the customers will still find fault and still won't be happy.

This is the one wrestling game i want really bad .
Pro wrestling games are very niche regardless. A 2026 release is more likely. Luckily, 2K is still slightly pissing people off lol

There is just not for the demo they will also have a special guest Refree match type.
