Get a look at the first games being published by Blumhouse Games, a collection of horror titles including Project C from Sam Barlow and Brandon Cronenberg.
Blumhouse is a producer, a publisher. Their role is to provide funding to projects they think that will make the money. Each project comes from the artist.
@@andrewpearson3516 True but they fund crazy risky ideas rather than keeping it safe with reboots, remakes, and established IP. That in turn allows more artists to shine.
this is actually really smart with how popular indie horror games have always been, the problem with them is that they’re never polished but they always have cool ideas, now these creatives are given the funds they need to make their ideas come true
Ignoring the salty people here talking about movies as if they had anything to do with the people working on these games. This looks very cool and I'm looking forward to several of the games tbh.
A lot of companies actually have better scary movies than Blumhouse . Blumhouse just is the one that’s releasing consistently so they’re not releasing a lot of high-quality films and that’s just facts
@@juiceboxbzrkhalf assed? Blum house is a producer and funder for movies. He puts in a million and gets 10 million back. Why you mad at smart business? Be mad at the writers or directors of the movies not the dude who gave them money in the hopes that their creativity might succeed. Do you want the same stale sequels. One thing you can say about Blum house, they have a diverse range of movies.
Yeah, it feels like Blumhouse is cautiously dipping their toes into a new medium with a handful of teams and projects that they're poured money and support into Let's see how well it plays out, but I'm wishing every single one of these game projects the best.
Blumhouse always killing it by supporting independent creatives with new ideas! So glad they’re expanding into games now. The Simulation seems like an especially interesting concept to me, and crazy to see Sam Barlow’s name again after falling in love with Her Story so many years ago!
Not gonna lie, all these games look interesting. "Crisol: Theater of Idols" looks like a fun "Silent Hill-esque" FPS game, "Grave Seasons" looks like an interesting horror version of the "Harvest Moon" games, "Sleep Awake" has vibes of Hideo Kojima's "PT", "Fear the Spotlight" looks like a fun throwback to early 3D horror games, and "Simulation" looks to be an intriguing VR mystery. Wish we saw footage of "Project C" though. But overall, looks like an interesting set of games. :)
I'm guessing The Simulation is gonna be part exploring the location with survival elements and part puzzle with the developer recreating the scene trying to make a game based on how the crimes unfolded.
It makes sense that after finding success in making a bunch of lower budget horror movies that sometimes make 10x their budget. Now, translating that success from horror movies into horror games. The real question is whether this can translate successfully from a different media and a different market.
Neat! It's cool that these titles are all original too! Though, I'd still play a video game about M3gan killing people while also dancing around to pop music, or an FPS in the Purge universe, or a Happy Death Day game where you try to solve who is trying to kill you and forces to start the whole game over from scratch with each respawn.
People judged the whole video based on the fact that the movies the movie side of the company made aren’t great according to some people. So they used that information to say that these games will be terrible.
A Resi-7 style game based on Sinister would be absolutely unreal, but it's nice to see Blumhouse supporting indie horror instead considering the way movies have gone lately.
"Why isn't this studio making games based off of movies they don't own the rights to?!" - half of the comments here

Yeah sure discredit valid criticisms for the sake of funding a brand known for half-assed content for mouth breathers. There's better hills to die on
Amen to that. Blum house isn’t necessarily making the games anyway. They’re working as publishers for indie studios.
Laughs in Warner Bros

Ok can someone explain to me what the hell is all this negativity?
People feel better about their own lives by trying to tear down others online.
Negativity always makes more waves than positivity unfortunately
People judged the whole video based on the fact that the movies the movie side of the company made aren’t great according to some people. So they used that information to say that these games will be terrible.
A whole decade+ of shitty content from a studio single handedly holding back the horror genre. What is there to explain dude it's blumhouse
@@daniman0114 Plus, they don’t realize that they’re a publisher, the description even says so.

Already exists. It's called "five nights at Freddy's"

It could be a cool concept to make a game that encompasses all of these games.
That would be way too muddled. They are all entirely different, both in their gameplay and theming.
