I'm not a rookie but I am not an expert, so I am glad I caught this video - most all of which I knew but a few points i didn't know / think of. Plus the things I already knew, you gave me a differant perspective to think things thru for planning. Thanks for sharing!

@@groundupadventures That style is behind me ("it's not the age, it's the milage" Indiana Jones). I am more of a "several hours" or "weekend" hiker. I am working on hitting-up as many parks and trails as I can on the east-coast (USA), and hoping to add more wherever my travels. Thanks again!

Don’t buy food. Everyone hangs their food at night for free….

My biggest tip, especially for desert hiking in the height of summer, is to use a cooling cloth! You soak it with water and lay it around your neck. The water evaporation keeps you cooler than you would be otherwise, which could make a hot and dry climate more manageable. I’ve found I tend to wear out much slower if I am cool enough on a hike, so I always use mine nowadays!

It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 world second highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October. This is a family tracked.its open Zone, one did not need a trekking permit or have to pay Royalty fee to climbed this Mountain tower

    Good morning from the UK.
Could you possibly do a segment on a day/overnight hike with a dog, please? Equipment and essentials, etc.
    Thank you. 👍🏼

To be truthful it depends on your dog and where you go. I live NNE of Groundup in the same mountains and had a larger dog. Most of the river crossings were too fast for him and when we changed altitude he could not climb up. He always had to lay on the top of my ruck and he had to hold on…I needed both my hands. So in needed to use a 75L pack with stuff in it so he had a place to lay on. It’s lots of work.

Just tell me why I drink more water climbing mountain, I run short. Getting dehydrated and no water anymore anywhere. Is it ok to survive with no water

You probably know this already but those sizers also double as toe nail cutters. Hand when your client suddenly realizes there toe nail is cutting into there toes.

For sure! To be honest I carry nail clippers in my first aid pack for guided trips for this very reason because it happens quite regularly and I don't want to always be cleaning toe grime off my swiss army knife 😂
