Regarding the repackaging food - another tip I'm a fan of is to bring 1 dehydrated meal in its original packaging, but repackage the rest of your meals in ziplocs. Then you eat that 1 packaged meal your first night, then clean out the bag and reuse with your other meals throughout the rest of the trip :)
I like your no nonsense practical approach to the topic of backpacking. Do you have any experience with using different types of water filters and do you have a preference on make/model for day hikes vs extended overnight trips? Doing a comparison video would be helpful. I tend to need more water on my hikes than the usual person. I sweat and lose salts easily. So I am always concerned about hydration and electeolyte replacement. Do you have a regiment of hydration to suggest? Do you have a preference on products for electrolyte replacement? Thanks! Happy Trails!
This trowel is by PACT Outdoors, I have an affiliate link in the description with a discount code :) I am not a quilt fan specifically because I’m a cold sleeper, but my partner is obsessed with his Enlightened Equipment quilt
