Simple yet beautiful! I'm going to purchase a very small portion of land, probably by next week if I can close the deal, up the mountain and I came across your video. It's got a view overlooking 3 or 4 cities. This gave me a very good idea of what to build first on it. Thank you for this! ♥
@Mister B I cant remember the cost but we bought plywood for the floor and sides, various sizes of wood for the base, "A's" and purlins, and then the rest was all borrowed from friends and family who had extra materials.
About $1500, but we scavenged materials when we could. Structural materials were all new, cedar was salvaged, green roof about 20% new, laminate flooring salvaged. Window and door salvaged
Bfs Pinturas não sei qual a sua cidade mas em SP a viga de 11x5 de pinus tratado em autoclave com garantia de 10 anos custa R$ 12,00 o metro. Não é tão caro
Did you go a little bigger than the original plans? I’m planning to build three end on end to make a longer one but debated increasing overall dimensions
Hi! My father and I are thinking about built one of these this end of year, How much time it taked you to do it?. excuse my english. Greetings from Costa Rica Sir! It would be very useful your answer for Us. Thanks!.
Jerry Barrantes is very much recommend making one! It took us about a month but we only worked on it on the weekends so if we worked on it every day we probably would have had it done in a bit over a week
C'mon guys. Lovely, but can you at least post the dimensions for A-Frame aficionados? Footprint? LxW? Rafter Size? That's not too much to ask, is it? Thx.

I know they worked hard putting this structure up, but it is too small and cheats you out of more space by its triangular shape. You don't need too many of these structures as there's already too many small homes we have to take down to make way for truly livable spaces that have something to offer to the quality of life. I've seen designs of A-frame that have good designs but not too many. I like that it wasn't metal.
Yeah a lot of these videos have the same sort of music. If you watch a ton of these videos like I do, it becomes annoying. This song was particularly generic, and hoo boy I've heard a lot of generic Ukulele music.
Well ya got it done. Too bad you didn’t do any research prior to the build. It looks fine, but it’s got several problems that I spotted. It can’t last very long with the methods you used. Sorry..
If you're going to take the time to make a comment like this, you can at least elaborate on those problems you spotted so that people can learn from it...
Jacques Krause Wow, I musta been in a bad mood when I wrote the comment.. my apology to the poster. I do think that the main thing that put me off was that they ran the floor out beyond the wall (to create the exterior deck space). This is going to be a permanent problem with water leaking into the house. No amount of caulking can stop it. Again, sorry for coming across so rudely.

Update: I already bought the land and me and my buddies started the clearing operations. We'll start building the A-frame this Sunday! ♥

Best of dozens watched!
Awesome! Simple task to do with or without any help. Thanks
Looks great! I’m starting my Deek’s A-Frame soon.
I just started mine.. Didnt use long enough screws and it fell apart LOL
I finished mine last year. It turned out beautifully.
Do the wood sheet panels prevent the frame from fall like a domino effect?
What a beautiful house! Can you please help me with measure of the house?
You could have those “side wings” lift-up on both sides ???
This is exactly what I want to do for a pumping station at the sugarshack! Thankyou!
Could you explain to me why they put small pieces of wood under the beams on the concrete supports? thanks
The music makes it sound like a piece eh cake !
It wasn't a piece of cake haha but it was a lot of fun!
Simple.. good job👍👌
Antes da tenha vocês colocaram uma manta ou um lona.???
How much did this cost you in materials? I have the plans for it but wonder if I can afford it. I’m sure the cost has increased since then.
Can you post the updated interior?
Good idea!
Update?
Where did you find the floor plans?
Belíssimo trabalho,, acho que vai ser muito difícil , mas queria muito saber as Dimensões dessa cabana ?

Hi Quin, what do you use the cabin for?

Did you go a little bigger than the original plans? I’m planning to build three end on end to make a longer one but debated increasing overall dimensions
We did, the original plans had it only as long as the big window, we added and extra 4 feet and it was defiantly worth it.
Great job love it can you give over all detentions thanks for sharing
Is this really a Canadian ehframe?
I was like "damn those people work fast" and then I realized it wasn't in real time so then I was like "damn this is some good weed" lmao
Love it!
Looks great! What type of Simpson ties did you use? I can't see how you attached the Beams to the posts at the base.

Super
Aw3eome .
What are your floor dimensions inside? Same size as the plans or is yours longer?
We added 4 feet to the plans. Without the deck it is 12x8 feet
Isn't the original plan 10*8 therefore only 2 foot added?
Love this build with the extra space. How long are the timbers that make up the A? Was this the original 8x10 with an added section 3'? DEEEK

@@quinadam9268 Thx Quin.Footprint would be the 8x12. I was just curious what the Rafter length was.

height ?
About 11 feet in the middle, 12 foot sides. Also the base is 12 x 12 feet, 12 x 8 without the deck
Very good! I like your design of the wall so you can open it! I guess you’re in Canada, eh? ))
