I used to hate the A-Frame style house for a long time until recently. I think the black metal roofing makes it the most appealing to me. Congrats on your engagement!

Yes but not every city would accept an atypical design like this one..
you'd have to check the municipality by laws. because even if you don't need a permit to build something, you might need a permit to use it for living in it / rent it out as a guest house or whatever you might want to do with it.
