Thanks a lot for this video bro! This really helped me out. I was beginning to think I was the only one in the world that this ever happened to! Isn't it just annoying the way simple things on a BMW break due to poor design? Aux ports falling through, door handles melting, etc, etc. Stuff like that would NEVER happen on a Japanese car. I wish BMW would do more to address these simple design issues!
Have mine since 2009, just decided to change all of the door handles from amazon, some durable material. Got it today and looks awesome. Next step, pull the aux back out, and maybe evaluate if it fits an USB like the one in the video, saw them on amazon too.
Thank you bro. I spent 30 minutes trying to get the thing out again with my finger and something else, nothing helped, but with the help of your video it didn't take me more than 5 minutes, thanks again
Thanks for the video -Saved a lot of head scratching. I found that installing the port the other way around, the USB jack closer to the Cig ligher actually made a more secure connection and fitted flush.
I had this problem on a 2007 E90. My airvent wouldn't come out after opening up the back on the centre console; it was a setback. I just reached inside the side housing and pushed the aux port back up through the hole. I forgot to bend out the tabs to give it a more secure fit but so far so good.
@@jantewhite6643 Not entirely positive, maybe the coupes are a slightly different process? I assumed this process would apply to a coupe pretty much in the same fashion. Maybe someone with a coupe has a write up on the forums?
@@sgfreak96, the coupes are much more complexed, and harder to reach. I guess I'll have to take it to the shop...before I tear up the interior. I appreciate you, thanks!
@feralconcepts1575 definitely found an easier way for the E92. Put your front seat all the way forward, then pull the plastic liner back on the bottom side of the console. Then you can feed it out the port from under and then fish the cable back through the top hole inside the console and snap it back into place. Just did it to my E92.
Thank you for this! It fell through again like 4 times but I just wanted to connect the Bluetooth adapter thing so I'll just leave it like that for now lol Any ideas to fix it completely? Thanks again for the vid:)
Aside from super glueing it into place, im not too sure on a permanent fix. I’m just super careful with mine lol. I bent the tabs out on mine which helped a bit
Great video. Anyone have removal instructions for a Convertible? 2007 E93. I don't have a back console. The front console goes all the way to the back seat so no back cover
@@geepismyname I am not positive on a coupe vehicle, however I imagine the process is similar. I had a 335i back in the day. I think the rear air vents and trim should pop off as well, and probably give access to the area where the port/cable are sitting.
This happened to me also but somehow i connect my phone with aux port but when click on to aux music in the display it takes me to radio and music doesnt work. Any suggestions to fix it please.
@@simranjitsingh7740 Interesting. Something must be wrong with the radio itself, or perhaps the wire is damaged going into the radio so it isn’t detecting an aux input? I have not heard of that before but I assume there are probably forum posts about it, so check there
Try a couple other phone cables to make sure it is the port thats busted. If the port is confirmed broken, the part is definitely replaceable - double check fuses too to make sure it isn’t something like that as well. Hope this helps.
@@sgfreak96plus I was able to fix it myself months ago I’m looking for an easier way if it happens again. I just said your instructions are bad because you don’t show yourself doing things you just skip to when it’s done.
Are you not able to pop it off entirely or you can get the top half off but not the bottom part, if so get a flat head screw driver feed it in through the side and then kinda feel around the are. You'll find two tabs one on each side then using the flat head pop off the tabs and the panel should just come right out.
Thanks so much for this video! It took me less than 5 minutes to fix my problem I’ve neglected for years. It was so helpful! Appreciate it!
Glad it helped

Yeah I hear you man its def annoying stuff. Lot of people have this issue!
The melting door handles are definitely the most absurd one for me. Another nuisance is the tendency for the cupholders to get stuck.
Thanks a ton!

Hope it holds for you, its a pretty dumb design by bmw to make them so fragile. At least its a fairly easy fix though
