Hello, I have a 2007 e90 ccc iDrive with only the auxiliary socket and was thinking of getting the socket with both usb and auxiliary, if I did, does that mean I'll be ready to play music from a usb flashdisc onto my ccc nav iDrive ? and will the tracklist be showing on the iDrive screen ??
My 08 335i convertible rear part of console didn't look anything like the other videos I saw showing how to take the back off to get the pushed thru connector but no permanent fix on those. Found this, glad I did! Ordered the part, a little pricey-but precision steel, matched color made it good. Thought shipping was high $$ though. In prep for receiving part, I went to fish out the connector as in this video I saw days ago. Thought it would be a lot of attempts. But I ended up starting it wrong since I didn't re-watch the video! A pointed small screwdriver into AUX plug inner sidewall, but just a medium flathead down the same connector opening. Able to angle it up past one springclip, then the other side by pushing flathead against other clip. Had it out 1st try in a minute! Lucky! Install didn't go as easy, Aux unplug was difficult (no clip like the USB plug), used a small needlenose to shimmy it (careful, mushy plastic!). Video pulled on wires!! Fitting part on looked easier in video that what I had! But it worked after a bit (and I didn't bend it!) Perfect fix! Thank you! Did it myself at home, even though I work admin for VP of 6 service depts., (not BMW), my job includes fill-in service manager, and any of our techs would've done it for me! Highly recommend!
The USB only supplies power to the Blue tooth unit that connects to your phone and provides the Aux input. It would be a clean way to power the USB unit and have no power wires inside the console, but you would have to run power 12V to the new connector with USB, you could for example get that power form the cigarette lighter outlet also located in the center console
Looks like a great fix......how did you remove the wires from the aux connector from the three wires attached. You make it look easy but I can't remove my wires. From connector...they seem stuck...I just have aux 3.5mm only. No USB.
I used a small (jeweler sized) needle-nosed pliers just past where there's a lip in the plug. The lip part was mushy plastic, be careful. Just shimmied it back/forth. There was no clip to depress on Aux, there was on USB.
I have only AUX In in my car. Can I stright conect AGA AUX-USB Kit to it ? If so can I plug in the Pendrive with music and it works with iDrive ? Showing "AUX" in my iDrive screen ?
Mike Mejia yes you can , your bluetooth connection to your phone from the car is just for talking and connecting your phonebook. the aux input or usb input bluetooth dongle also connects to your phone but the only difference is you can stream your music to it and because the bluetooth device is connected to either usb or pin it streams the music nicely , when you get a call the music cuts out and the cars bluetooth system automatically kicks in so you can chat , when conversation is over the music kicks back in ! and by the way if you guys connect iphone via aux pin in car to the headphone jack to your phone iv been told that is wrong ! there is a lead you can get which connects to your charging port in your phone and the other end goes into aux pin in car! iv been told the music comes through at a much higher quality and volume ! me , il stick with the bluetooth dongle , cost £10 from amazon ,it's called ugreen wireless bluetooth 4.1 receiver with mic ! but because bmw already has built in mic the mic on the bluetooth dongle is redundant !
ktm640lc4BGD Yes you can still close the center console with it connected. If you have any further questions feel free to call us at 760-738-4084. Thank you!
The little piece of rectangular steel is $30, then add shipping...way too much. You might as well make a template for yourself out of rubber or use Gorilla glue to seal it down.
Which may or may not be ideal. sing gorilla glue would be a terrible idea if the unit itself went bad and needed to be replace. Temporary fix are never good. This fix is for those that are not handy and what an easy and quick fix that doesn't require a mechanic. This beats the need to replace the whole armrest.
I have an e90 2007 . Only the aux . Can i buy the one with usb . Is there a cable somewhere ? .

Great idea, I’ve tried to order but slow shipping at nearly to 53222 isn’t right.
Greg, give me a call at 760-738-4084 and I will help you. My name is Richard.
I installed mine today and it works as described. I have been looking for a clean, non-half@$$ solution for a long time. Would definitely recommend!
Glad everything worked out for you!

Can you use aux Bluetooth connector at the same time as your Bluetooth phone. Or do you have to switch

Here in Brazil I have a bmw 130E87 - 08/09 - Bluetooth is not enabled via idrive, can you tell if it is possible to do a Scanner enable?
Does this come with the aux unit?
Alex, this does not. This will only include the plug saver, not the actual plug itself.
AGA Tools where can I get the auxiliary connector
Alex, your local BMW dealership should have this.
can i close central console when bluetooth is connected?
ktm640lc4BGD Yes you can still close the center console with it connected. If you have any further questions feel free to call us at 760-738-4084. Thank you!
