love the esg videos keep em coming, quick question at 7:05 you say it has zoom brakes, are these nutt brakes just zoom with a different name, or was that a snafu, cause i know my mantis pro has zoom brakes
One of the things I like about tubless tires is that tire sealant like Armor Dilloz works really well, as do tire plugs. Tubless tires are also not prone to pinch flats. But you're right, these tires are a pain to change. I've done a Wolf Warrior tire change and it was no fun at all (and I used to wrench for a living). If I had to pick, I'd go tubeless (which of course means non-split rims). -Paul

PAUL: have you heard about the "New" GRAPHENE-LITHIUM battery technology? Lighter weight. Flexible material. 2.5x Battery capacity. Super-Fast charging. Purportedly will be introduced by Samsung for cellphones. Then E-bikes may be next. How long before GRAPHENE-LITHIUM batteries change everything in the E-Scooter universe?
From what I undestand, privately owned ones are currently banned in the UK. It's mind blowing that they would be banned and that rentals are legal. -Paul
It's not like there's a ton of cf on this scooter. Great scooter but the price should at least be $600-$800 less... no kidding! Please don't get it twisted mate... this scooter is way way overpriced, please don't act like it's worth every penny!🤦♂️
I'd probably feel the same way if I hadn't ridden one yet. It's impossible to describe how much better the ride quality of this scooter is compared to most others. To me, the price and build hits a nice spot between the Wolf King and the Rion, and competes very well with the Dualtron Storm, which we will be reviewing next. Michael Sha is pretty open about the fact that he is working on a lower power, lower cost scooter that will compete with the Wolf Warrior, so who knows, maybe that will become the dominant model from NAMI like the Model 3 is for Tesla. -Paul
Much as I love the latest greatest innovations, I can't help but wonder how the cf stem will perform in a headon crash. Being way >100lbs, its obvious the Nami Viper's raison d'etre isn't its light weight so I can't help but wonder if power coated steel isn't a better material. It'll obviously be cheaper with just as much strength & somewhat malleable if we so choose. No real reason for cf except for the 'wow' factor.
The carbon stem actually has a great feel to it. It has a very tight flex. Some stems can actually feel too stiff (ninebot Max comes to mind). Michael Sha has an amazing testing rig he built to cycle the stem through thousands of cycles of strain. Rions have been using carbon stems for a while, but you're right, in that case it's almost for sure because of weight. Michael told me that he actually worked in the carbon fiber industry for a while, and at one point considered making the entire chassis out of carbon fiber. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide IMO I think the 'too stiff' argument is valid but only for non suspended scoots. I started with a M365pro & dang if it didn't ring my bell over harsh terrain. That said, with a good (&correctly tuned) suspension, I would want a stiff stem to brace on hard braking. Its possible it could be just me but it's also logical
I get where you're coming from. That said, I bought a Ferrari F355 Spider with 124 miles on it back in 2010. I was amazed to find out how far from perfect, hand-built cars are. Ugly welds everywhere! Michael Sha watches all of these videos and cares a lot about what he's building, so I expect we'll see continuous improvement. I'll be curious to hear reports from folks who buy these a few months from now, to see what improves and what doesn't. -Paul
What's your height? I'm just a short 5'3 guy and wondering if i might be having a reach problem / not relaxed state of raised arms since the stem is not adjustable. What do u think?
Could you let us know exactly how you dialled-out the wobble with the suspension adjustment? Did you stiffen the front spring and increase the rebound control?
I added two turns of pre-load to the front, removed one turn of preload from the rear, and set damping to 15.5 our of 16 clicks. I think I have the front at 15.9 out of 16 right now. Which means, it really could use stiffer valving inside. -Paul
Looks like the Nami Burn-e is no longer sold with the 35Ah battery and now sold with 32Ah at same price. The range has been nurfed by a whole 10 miles. Are there any 35Ah versions still available to buy from somewhere?
Yeah, it doesn't have that level of adjustment. I'm more bothered by the dead zone than the delay/ramp-up speed of the throttle. Both Chuck and I find riding the Wolf King to be a little like a big block American car, and the NAMI is a little more like a V12 Ferrari. I don't miss the abruptness when I'm on the NAMI, but it would be nice if everyone could dial the throttle response to their own taste! You'd love the Dualtron Storm. We're getting ready to review that next and have already started riding it. Throttle response is Bonkers! -Paul
So the range you show is 53.3 miles. I'd like to know the average riding speed, air temperature and rider weight. These things may have been mentioned at some time, but I am not aware of this. Also, for maximum battery life, what is the lowest percentage level of voltage charge that you recommend? Overall, great review!
The best scooter, in my opinion is either the" Rescue mark12" for the long-Haul or the" Lithium patriot" for stealth portability and both of those units dropped from a hot-Air balloon could theoretically break the 300 miles per hour mark!
Hi Joshua, That's a good question. I'm really glad you asked it. I suppose the question could also be posed the other way around. We spent weeks actually riding, testing, and evaluating the BURN-E scooter scientifically. We then compared that data to the data we collected from over 75 other scooters. Then we also gave our take on the less quantifiable stuff like ride quality, and disclosed the suspension adjustments needed to make the scooter as good as it can be. We had some issues with our scooter right out of the box and we disclosed all of them. In fact, one commenter suggested that we were in danger of killing a new brand because we were being too critical of it. Here's a link to the first look video:. You should be able to find the comment I'm referring to there. ua-cam.com/video/TPu7CKoPt6g/v-deo.html It sucks that the other reviewer got a replacement scooter with steering bearings that were too tight, and then reviewed it without riding the scooter. I definitely feel for folks who waited patiently for their BURN-E scooters to arrive only to be disappointed, in some cases twice by damage or tuning issues. I felt that feeling myself, when our stem-hinge arrived bent and I straightened it so I could test the scooter. Having ridden the scooter quite a bit, my feeling is that the design fundamentally very good, but they have gotten the easy stuff wrong on some of the scooters: tuning and shipping. Fortunately, the shipping issue seems to be solved. At this point, they really do need to be on top of their game for having scooters arriving undamaged and in good tune, because as a new brand you only get so many chances. I really hope they get quality to 100% soon, because it's fundamentally a very very good scooter to ride, and I'd like to see them continue to make more of them. Happy to discuss here, or you can email me at my first name followed by @ followed by electric-scooter.guide if you'd like. If need be, we could also do a phone call. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Paul, thanks for the quick response. No need to call you. Frankly, I'm in shock you gave such a detailed answer. I wasn't expecting any response. I asked why I should continue to trust you and you gave me a satisfactory answer to that question. Thank you. I would love to see you compare the Mercane Wide Wheel vs Varla Pegasus vs Nanrobot Lightning and any other wide wheel solid tire scooter to see which one is the best. They all fall in the same price range.
Hi Joshua, We probably won't do a comparo of those directly. But I did spend a lot of time with the Pegasus recently. The Pegasus is a good value but needed some tuning out of the box. The rear brakes on ours didn't work at all as delivered. The suspension is very stiff, particularly in the front which I didn't like at first, but it actually works well that way, and I grew to like it. It had decent braking once the brakes were tuned. The front brakes ended up having a concerning issue later. For me, wide, flat-profile tires feel really odd when you start cornering. As you get toward the edge of the wheel they start feeling really odd. I feel the same way about the Wide Wheel though, and a lot of people love those. I think the Pegasus could be good with different wheels and tires. I do like the Pegasus tires more than the widewheel tires. The throttle is a bit abrupt if you turn up all the P-settings, like we always do. The deck feels good, The Pegasus does have one of the best displays ever. Super super easy to read. I think the fonts and layout could be improved just a little, but in terms of over all form and function I hope to see it on many many more scooters in the future. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Paul, thanks for the detailed answers. It is greatly appreciated. I suppose I can ask you directly since you have compared so many scooters: What's the best all solid tire scooters you have ridden for under $1.500.00? You don't need to go into detail if you don't have the time or inclination. Thanks.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide according to most reviews, XTR are quite binary- they bite hard and then there is little modulation. In this terms Magura MT5e or Hope E4 T3 are better. But nothing prohibits you to mix brake systems. I'm thinking about those brake discs and then Magura.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide How do volts affect a scooter's performance? For example, the Nami Burn-e 2 is 72V 28Ah and it has 2x1000W motors. The Wolf GT Pro is 60V 35Ah with 2x1200W motors. But they get about the same speed. Also, the Apollo Phantom is 52V with 1200W motors...but I read the Nami goes up hills better. I don't know how this works!
The Storm's throttle is super abrupt, and the Storm's suspension is very stiff, but you can soften it with other cartridges. Our NAMI gets ridden a lot. Our Storms (we have two) don't get ridden much. -Paul
This seriously needs a dampner for speed wobbles,a proper steering stop so the wires don't get ripped out when over turning, which I have personally witnessed, and wtf is goin on when the stem is folded? Screen gets smashed on the handle bars no latch or braket.pls have a more accurate discussion on the negatives too.
I've gone 58.8 mph on it without wobble, once the suspension set up was done. When I raced motorcycles for 5.5 years, I never found that I needed a damper either. That said, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have one when they release it as a product. In the review we did call out the steering stop as a weak point. On our BURN-E the cables don't pull when steering left and right. On our BURN-E the screen does not contact anything, though it does come close to the footrest when folded. When I interviewed Michael Sha. I asked him about the lack of bracket to latch the stem to deck when folded (here's the moment in the interview where I ask about it ua-cam.com/video/Nn3WezRvWJA/v-deo.html) and also call out the lack of a bracket in the review. Michael says the reason there is no bracket is that it's not made to pick up by the stem. Eagerly looking forward to your review should you choose to make one. :-) -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide here in aus we had major issues with the stem wiring being pulled out due to the m6 stop screw coming out,the scoot which was a friend of mine was in the shop for two weeks from brand new, also I have been riding mx for 25+years and the steering geometry on a ktm450 is spot on and dosnt need a dampner ,pls check the geometry on the nami, axle is well behind the headset causing a trolley wheel effect, l I can tell you at 70+kmph this thing is dangerous,as alot of people say as well, very unstable especially when throttle off and the front gets loaded with brakes,it def needs a latch as the screen does hit when tillted back, not cool.for a 6k scooter made in China, also having no latch allows bars to move left to right cause stress on the thin coupling in the tube that you are very familiar with..,other than that I love it,just disappointed in a few things,I will say fitting pmts made a huge differance,in the end I think for the 6k you pay it should go the speed as stated in a safe manner.looking at the build quality,I think is very good, hand welded frame, quality fastners, minimum screws/bolts,things I would change is shorter stem height which I have already, take a leaf out of rions book..,a c spanner to adjust suspension preload would be nice,a steering dampner, pmts which iv done, drill and fit a m10 bolt for the steering stop,a latch for the stem in down positon.
The Burn E is fantastic! However, the price difference between the King and the performance gain... it's not an incredible difference of $1,000. I would still have to give it to the King for the performance/dollar ratio. I would love to add the Burn-E, but at that price - I would rather have a Dualtron for a little more or a King for a lot less. I would be way more open if the price was on par for about $500 less. $4100+tax/shipping vs $2799+tax/shipping... Gonna have to tilt to the King on that one. However, in the next year, I'll be looking at adding whatever iteration of the Burn-E is out or maybe a Storm! Thanks ESG for this awesome review! :)

This is a great question. I'm not sure if I can get a set of calipers in there to measure. If I remember correctly, it's about 1 - 2 mm. (Chuck is riding it today, so I don't have it in the office to check) -Paul
@@jessa.3857 Yes I'm well aware it's not fastest out there it's still super fast but you can do couple upgrades like air filled suspension and extended handle bar it's definitely quality scooter.
@@coolshariq I didn't say anything about it not being the fastest. You said it's the best scooter out there but it clearly is not. I'm saying this as someone who actually wants to get one (vsett 10+ R) soon!
I had to go watch the video again just now! I was sure I said Nutt! But you're absolutely right. I have no idea why I said Zoom in that take when it's right there on the caliper, especially since earlier in the video I called them Nutt :-) -Paul
I was expecting a much better welding on a scooter thats in this price range. Look at @8:44. It looks like it was a trainee and his/her first time using a welder.
id really love a scooter that can go 50mph or better, and go 50 miles or further. it really seems like you have to spend over $4000 to get that though. ive seen one scooter that was $1700 with those specs but there are almost no reviews, and the ones there are say its a sketchy low quality scooter.
So fun! Would have been more air if I could have gotten it to go faster. It was losing altitude on each subsequent try. I ran the hill about 4 or 5 times. :-) The original plan was to jump off of the hill, and try to reproduce the Ferrari jump scene from Ferris Bueller's day off, but I chickened out on the down hill jump. -Paul
Am I alone in thinking that anything above 30 mph is too fast for a scooter? I don't want to sound like a chicken, because I'm not, but 60 mph is just too much.
For me, it's not so much how fast it goes, but how quickly it gets up to 25 mph. Our family car has a top speed of 155 mph, which of course, I will never ever do on the road, but it gets me up to the speed limit nicely when I'm merging into traffic. -Paul
The Rion is faster for sure, and probably quicker off the line too. The best documented speeds we have for the Weped and the BURN-E have the BURN-E being faster. Our speed runs are pretty stringent though. I ride them two directions, back to back, at sea-level on flat ground, and average the two speed runs together to cancel out the effect of headwinds or tail winds. I also sustain the top speed for a long time when I do it, typically 1/4 mile at top speed, to be sure that the curve has flattened out. The whole run that I do is 1/2 mile long in each direction. electric-scooter.guide/best-rated/fastest-electric-scooters/
Sooo… yea, for a scooter to be $4500 in a world of ever cheaper electronics i just dont see the value in this scooter, i guess unless u need 50 miles of range and somehow are able to do 60mph on the streets with a scooter lol thats stupid just buy a car or Motorcycle. For the price this is stupid, now if it wer say $3k a lil more Than the wolf King then sign me up.

We've just started testing our Storm, but it's the normal 72V version. Review coming in about 3 weeks. We also have a Thunder, still in the box that we'll review soon too. There will be a lot of Dualtron content coming! -Paul
love the esg videos keep em coming, quick question at 7:05 you say it has zoom brakes, are these nutt brakes just zoom with a different name, or was that a snafu, cause i know my mantis pro has zoom brakes
I just messed up! They're Nutt brakes . I think we did another take where I said it correctly, but I didn't catch it during editing. -Paul
I would totally buy it if there was a service center in Seattle. Otherwise, party over after the first blown tire.
-Paul
Great content as always:) I just got some slime for my 10 inch tires. How much slime is recomended to be used? Keep up the great work, guys :)
Apparently only 2 ounces. I hadn't seen this before, but they have a calculator on their website. I think you'd be safe with anywhere between 2 and 4 ounces though. -Paul

Taller for sure by a few inches

Would you recommend the Nami Burn E or the Extreme Bull K4?
-Paul
What were the sneakers you were wearing? The ones with the orange Nike swoosh. They look cool.
I like the numbers but I feel like there's too many negatives. If I'm going to pay the asking price, it had better be perfect.
-Paul
Whoa… cool!
Thanks! -Paul
What's your height? I'm just a short 5'3 guy and wondering if i might be having a reach problem / not relaxed state of raised arms since the stem is not adjustable. What do u think?
Paul is 5-11
Cooling fans on the breaks !!!?? Wow that’s cool
First one we've ever seen with cooling fins on the brake pads, but then right after that two Dualtrons showed up that also had them :-)
The tires are tubeless correct?
Yes! -Paul
that was the fastest hill climb i have ever seen!
Thanks! It was really fun! -Paul
Im 167cm tall, would the handlebar height be too high for me? (Would I need to cut the stem?)
Handlebars might be slightly tall for you! -Vosk
I guessed ramir already gave it the big dog stamp of apporval before the review since we didnt get his take on it lol
I’m very interested of getting the Nami Burn E 2 Max. Do you know if it comes with regeneration Brakes, like the Kaabo Mantis Bro Thanks.
Right. Makes no sense what a let down. I'm about to pull the trigger on the bronco with updated controllers , lcd screen and thumb throttle
Safer cells, most likely.
Is there a way to disable the throttle delay? I'd rather ride with instant throttle response.
I'm a big fan of the Flinko 5000 myself ;-)

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide we're is the review at then
After reading Ginger on Wheels review of the Burn-E Viper, I seriously ask why should I trust you guys? I would like an answer.
Hi Joshua,
That's a good question.
You should be able to find the comment I'm referring to there. ua-cam.com/video/TPu7CKoPt6g/v-deo.html
It sucks that the other reviewer got a replacement scooter with steering bearings that were too tight, and then reviewed it without riding the scooter.
Hi Joshua,
We probably won't do a comparo of those directly.
The deck feels good,
The Pegasus does have one of the best displays ever. Super super easy to read. I think the fonts and layout could be improved just a little, but in terms of over all form and function I hope to see it on many many more scooters in the future. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Paul, thanks for the detailed answers. It is greatly appreciated. How does it compare to Dualtron Storm or Thunder 2?

The King maintains its reign as fastest, but the BURN-E rides sooooo smooth. - Trina

id really love a scooter that can go 50mph or better, and go 50 miles or further. it really seems like you have to spend over $4000 to get that though.
ive seen one scooter that was $1700 with those specs but there are almost no reviews, and the ones there are say its a sketchy low quality scooter.
lol you got Air going Up that hill 😀
So fun! Would have been more air if I could have gotten it to go faster. It was losing altitude on each subsequent try. I ran the hill about 4 or 5 times. :-)
The original plan was to jump off of the hill, and try to reproduce the Ferrari jump scene from Ferris Bueller's day off, but I chickened out on the down hill jump. -Paul
Bom 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Am I alone in thinking that anything above 30 mph is too fast for a scooter? I don't want to sound like a chicken, because I'm not, but 60 mph is just too much.
For me, it's not so much how fast it goes, but how quickly it gets up to 25 mph. Our family car has a top speed of 155 mph, which of course, I will never ever do on the road, but it gets me up to the speed limit nicely when I'm merging into traffic. -Paul
isnt rion and/or weped faster than this?
The Rion is faster for sure, and probably quicker off the line too. The best documented speeds we have for the Weped and the BURN-E have the BURN-E being faster.
Our speed runs are pretty stringent though. I ride them two directions, back to back, at sea-level on flat ground, and average the two speed runs together to cancel out the effect of headwinds or tail winds. I also sustain the top speed for a long time when I do it, typically 1/4 mile at top speed, to be sure that the curve has flattened out. The whole run that I do is 1/2 mile long in each direction.
