here's some tips to get you started with your new laptop. 1. firstly, try not using the keyboards as much as you can if you're planning to use it for long term. Helps with the reselling and making the laptop look pristine condition. 2. Get some cleaner specifically for tech devices to regularly clean your laptop once in awhile cause when you use external mouse and keyboards it tends to get a lot of dust overtime. 3. Get someone do a thermal repaste or the place where you buy it from (mind you this might void warranty as you need to open the seal somewhere. 4. Get a dongle port for your connections for more USB ports, it makes it easily to diassemble when you wanna bring the laptop elsewhere. just take that one dongle out and you're done. 5. Don't know the Ram and storage but I suggest getting 16rams at least but preferably get a 32 instead for future proofing it and get around 1.5tb including the exisitng once. makes it nice to know you got lots of storage. :)
Something I recommend as someone who uses a gaming laptop is a Llano laptop cooler, its basically one of the only brands of laptop coolers that do a big difference like for me around -20c and temps are a really big problem with gaming laptops
Thank you for the recommendation, I will definitely invest into looking to buy one in the future. However, for now I think I'll stick to the one I have as it does the job!
about the monitor arm, I think I had the same one and it might just be a common thing that comes up with these gas spring arms. At the base of the upper arm section, just above the hinge for my arm, there may be a hole which allows you to insert an allen key which should allow you to adjust the torque of the arm. My arm had the torque maxed out, you basically have to adjust the torque, strength of the arm, until it lets you move it up and down freely.
I have the same laptop as you. I recommend a cooling base, they may say it doesn't work but if you get the right one, believe me it will help a little to keep the laptop from overheating. Adding that I have a cool room with air conditioning xd that keeps the laptop at a very good temperature when I play Valorant on high or even GTA V. Another thing, very good buy, it is an excellent laptop that I recommend in the future you get a USB-C to HDMI cable or a hub to connect multiple monitors with its USB-C input.
Yes, I've been thinking about getting a cooling base mount for my laptop. I should of brought that to begin with, silly me. Perhaps, in the distant future I will invest in getting one but for now I'm rather happy with what I have now. To be honest, I can turn up the fans in the laptop. The only down side is that it's extremely loud, but I'm not to bothered about that. And yes USB-C to HDMI cable's are definitely a must need to hook up additional monitors. Which is what I've done here hooked my main monitor to the laptop with a HDMI cable! Subsequently, thank you for the kind words, really do appreciate it!!
love the setup ,everything nicely done and congrats on the new beast of a laptop, however i just want to give a suggestion about the cable management. You did a great job fixing up that mess but you could still do better, there is a perfect wooden support beneath your desk and not utilising it seems like a waste. There are many things that could be done such as sticking the extension plug and the excess wires also on the back of the wooden board and route the cables behind one of the table legs using the cable sleeve or you could do something else like it. The point is to hide the cables behind the wooden board, this will basically remove any wires from sight and make it look much cleaner. Thx for reading and u can even make this into a new video, good luck and may there be more upgrades coming your way.
I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you like my setup! I really do once again appreciate you for going out your way to suggest what I could do to ultimately improve my setup as a whole. If I connect the notebook with the HDMI cable to the 144hz monitor, can I still use the 144hz monitor? Or do I lose fps because it is an HDMI cable and not a DVI cable?
That's a great question! From my understanding no you shouldn't lose FPS. However, it may hinder your latency. I also hooked up my 144hz monitor to my Laptop WITH an HDMI cable and everything works just fine, I was also able to set my monitor refresh rate to 144 when applying it in the settings. bro i suggestion buying new Monitor
Thank you for the suggestion! Perhaps within the near future I will. However, for now I'm rather happy with what I have,
If I connect the notebook with the HDMI cable to the 144hz monitor, can I still use the 144hz monitor? Or do I lose fps because it is an HDMI cable and not a DVI cable?
That's a great question! From my understanding no you shouldn't lose FPS. However, it may hinder your latency. I also hooked up my 144hz monitor to my Laptop WITH an HDMI cable and everything works just fine, I was also able to set my monitor refresh rate to 144 when applying it in the settings. Hope this has answered your question!
