I think the girl from the woods and the Emperor's Coven should each move a tier up. Belos without the coven would be a moderate threat at best, while the girl from the woods furthered Gus' development and I feel was the true beginning of his character arc.

Disney is the worst The Owl House villain. They shortened the show to 3 seasons and season 3 is shortened to 2 hours without commercials.

Philip is straight up one of the best Disney villains ever and I'm not taking criticism on this. The character could easily fall flat if they didn't handle him well but what a perfect execution
I completely agree! He is probably one of the best Disney villains I’ve seen because of how good he is at manipulating the characters. I think one reason he feels like such a good villain is because he truly thinks he is in the right. He thinks that witches are evil and that getting back to earth and destroying all witches is the best for everyone. I also think that a lot of people love how his character is written because they might relate to being manipulated by a friend, family member, or a partner.

@@POG-ist Or those who have suffered abuse at the hands of oppressive 'religion/societal norms'. He is truly an excellent representation of what cruelty/atrocities one can 'justify' to themselves. Unbalanced idealists are often the most dangerous opponents for that reason.

Disney about to cancel the show: Yeah that’s great and all but we all know whose actually the most effective villain here.
Btw great video, I’d love to see something like this again with a different Owl House topic. Other shows I can recommend for this style of format are Primal, Helluva Boss or Gravity Falls.
I also find the Collector's attitude towards grimwalkers really concerning. He calls them "things", suggests making a new one as though it's just another toy to buy; he objectifies them completely. I bet he's even the one who told Belos the ingredients list. Sure, he's a child but he is still able to view Belos as a person - but no Hunter and the other grimwalkers.
This is probably due to Belos influence, the Collector is very manipulate able.

The Collector treated the Owl Best and who knows how many other people very similarly LONG before Philip ever came to the Boiling Isles.
Pinning everything on Belos is the easy way out. There's absolutely something unsettling and callous about The Collector that is purely his own outlook on the world and how he views lesser beings.
@@andrewt329 I agree that the collector dosent give value to some people as he sees them as toys, he's just like a kid he's selfish and dosent think about others but he def does care about king, im not sure how his relationship is with him but it could be that he sees king as a good toy that dosent break easily so thats why he cares about him cuz he can actually play with him or he sees him as a playmate, i think its a bit of both. Either way in the collectors defense ofc he's a kid and he's basically king if he didnt mature. Also he has been locked in a prision underground sience the titan on the isles died as he was the one that trapped him and after when philip actually found him he was manipulated and betrayed so i dont blame this kid from being a little messed up, still i think that if the collector learns to be compassionate me might get a redemption arc.
He's just a god child with a bad outlook on life as he sees everything as a game.
I think that the reason the collector acts like this is that he was scared Belos would backstab them as he did the Grimwalkers, so he was undermining them to make himself feel greater than them to Belos like it said in the video ua-cam.com/video/bo8nzXqFa5s/v-deo.html by @gianimations2
The Collector is terrifying in such a unique way. The type of fear I feel when they’re present is more akin to stress. The type of stress you get when you realise a child has no idea about consequences, empathy and such. I’m not worried about how the characters are going to *defeat* the collector. I’m more stressed about how they’re going to manage it, keeping the collector away from doing horrible stuff. On that note, how have the characters that are still on the boiling isles managed?
If I had kids I would be constantly worried for their well being. If my kid was a god-like entity I’d fear for everyone else’s safety as it hinges on my ability to make sure the kid doesn’t destroy the world. Yeah that’s the terrifying nature of the collector.
I get why they were sealed away. No one would be able to raise a kid like that. let alone kill it…

What’s funny is Belos reminds me of Judge Claude Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Both use their high status, charisma, religion, and man power to follow through their end goals that are xenophobic. Both are willing to murder even.
One could even compare their relationships with Quasimodo and Hunter
What's doubly funny is that if they met, Belos would probably HATE Frollo bc the latter is Catholic and the former's a Puritan :P
But here's the difference: while frollo only cared about himself, belos actually cared about humanity

I still think that that the most powerful villain from The Owl House and from all Diney isn't Bill Cipher, Toffe or even The Collector but the Homophobia. It litterally had the power to reduce the duration of this show to less than the 35% of the original amount of time

Amity was never a villain, she was an antagonist. There's a huge difference between the two. Antagonists are there to stir the pot and be a foil to the protagonist whereas villains are there to be the big-bad for the arc/season, or straight up kill everything. Antagonists can also be villains, but villains are not always antagonists.
I love the collector the most. He is so funny and childish yet so intimidating and destructive. I am definitely looking forward to him ins season 3

(Also, my favorite villain is Philip, HES A FREAKING GENOCIDAL, BROTHER KILLING, DERANGED PSYCHOPATH! He literally killed his own brother for his beliefs and planned to kill a whole dimensions worth of life, and killed more than 39 grimwalkers (I counted the skulls in Kings Tide) of Caleb and I can go on and on about how evil and psychotic he is.
Hey! I'm sure you didn't mean any harm but psychotic isn't an insult! And using it as one just creates more stigma for people who experience psychosis. They are humans too and don't deserve to be demonized just because they experience symptoms that make there own life hard. And also psychopath isn't a insult either. Psychopath is word only people with ASPD (antisocial personlity disorder) can reclaim and use. In essence don't be fucking abliest and use other words instead of demonizing and creating more stigma for already really stigmatised disorders people with ASPD or psychosis aren't evil abusers there just humans who didn't choose to have any of these disorders who make there life hard. Next time if your wondering what word to use instead of psychosis or psychopath just use "evil, creepy, weird" ext

It's a regular slang word that a bunch of people use. It now, like a lot of words, have multiple meanings. Philip is a psychopath. There is no deep thought to it. I actually don't care if I'm stigmatized. As long as I don't get murdered, you can call me whatever the hell you want.

ASPD and psychopathy are inheritky linked weather you like it or not. Belos is an evil character he's a villian using the term psychopath for him implies that all people with ASPD are "evil" the only times we ever heard the word psychopath being used is when we are referring to evil or dangerous people or characters this creates even more stigma for people with ASPD. Personality disorders as a whole are already extremely demonized and stigmatized a lot simply for being seen as "bad person disorders" as a lot of the symptoms of personality disorders seem like "scary" symptoms or symptoms you may expect a typical bad or evil person to have so misusing mental health terms for already extremely demonized and stigmatized disorders just creates even more stigma around these disorders (this also includes terms like narcissistic, sociopath , psychopath/psychopathy ext). Having ASPD does not make someone inherently abusive or a bad person stop using terms that don't belong to you. I know I likely won't be able to stop you from using these terms but just so you know using these terms you are being extremely abliest

In my opinion, Belos is the best villan, period. He was written so well and I swear I'd quit the show if he got a redemption arc (Ok.... maybe not...)
As for the Collector, he's not a villain. At all. They're just a bored kid who doesn't know right from wrong. I mean, if I had been stuck with nothing to do for over a thousand years, I'd be bored too. I don't think he ever had a parental figure top correct him, and he just wanted to play, like most kids do. As someone else said, "Their actions stem from the fact that they’re literally a child, not because they’re evil. Come on, have you met a kid? They’d act the same way the collector does if they had that kind of power. It’s not a question of making him understand the morals of what he’s doing, it’s that he shouldn’t have that level of power in the first place"
Boscha, I don't consider her evil nessecarily, she's mainly your typical school bully and hasn't done any villainous things like trying to wipe out an entire civilization.
Odelia is the worst. Nothing else. Literally didn't care if her family lived or died, ignored her kids needs and everything, as long as she could uphold her image

But even if Belos did get a 'redemption arc' It would probably a LONG arc for him to go through after everything he caused and did, especially those he hurt.

The collector might not have bad intentions but he's definitely a villan. 99% the climax is going to be defeating him by locking him away again or something

After Lilith joined the protagonists, and The Golden Guard showed up, I immediately said: "He's definitely joining them"
Many episodes later, and he joins them.
Also, the Collector is powerful enough to literally move heaven and earth, I mean, look what he did with the f# Moon. And then when he completely destroyed the head of the titan like it was a set of legos just made my jaw drop, it's insane how powerful that kid is.
In my opinion, belos is one of if not the single greatest villain of any cartoon or animated feature. Almost everything about him seems perfectly written
Yes! I also love how in hollow mind (spoiler alert) it played around with feeling bad for belos cause of a sad backstory but it turned out he's just manipulative and evil, ofc has some backstory but like idk how to explain it well i hope u get what i mean

I Think The Most Evilest Villain on This List is Belos!!! He is A Great Disney Villain in A Long Time.
I consider Amity, Hunter, and Lily to initially be antagonists rather than villains (yes, there's a difference), Boscha and Matt too. Antagonists are characters who act as obstacles in the hero's path, villains are the evil characters who directly oppose the hero or who are the driving force behind problem the hero needs to face.
Another amazing video like always! I'm going to be honest my favorite villain is probably the collector I like unhinged villains that do evil things for fun. Even if they don't know it's evil. I think it's alot more entertaining than all the villains that are given traumatic back stories to help the audience to sympathize with them.
Also I think maybe an analysis video on a game sometime could be interesting or show infinity train.
I've watched a few analysis of the owl house and nobody I've seen mentioned the similarities of Luz in the beginning of the show and the Collector. They're all about play, stuck in their own world and unwilling to consider the effects they have on others because its their way of having fun.
Of course, Luz learned to manage fun and accountabilty and isn't an all powerfull deity, but I think the foil is very clear and I would've LOVED to see it fleshed out in a whole season but oh well... The main villain had to strike against this amazing show.
So many people loved the drama of The owl house, very emotional, and very good show to watch.

My favorite Owl house villain is Belos. The Collector is in second place due to his limited screen time. But hey he is still very intimating, not as Belos, but still. Speaking of The collector, wouldn’t be cool to do a video ranking all chaotic villains? Think about it, we could see your actual thoughts on Bill Cipher from Gravity falls, The Core from Amphibia, The Chairman from The ghost and Molly Mcgee and of course The Collector from The owl house. And why stop there? You could go beyond Disney and review other chaotic beings like: The Nowhere king from Centaurworld, The Devil from The Cuphead show! and my personal favorite Discord from My little pony friendship is magic. Please do this ranking it would make everyone including me very happy.

And for the “#1 VILLAIN SPOT” I’d have to say goes to Philip Wittebane / Belos! He’s the extreme of what any mislead human can be. What’s so scary about him is that people like him are still present today, which is very scary to think about what they can do if they ever manage to get enough power as he does.
You could do character analysis on some of the characters in the owl house like Amity, Hunter, Luz, and some others. As well as some more overlooked characters like King, Willow, and Gus. I think It would be nice to explore some characters that the fandom has overlooked some more.

The Collector has a cool character design but I'm not on the hype train yet. I think they'd rank A or B because right now, the only thing making them intimidating is their power. Belos, on the other hand, started out as nobody and became the literal emperor of the Boiling Isles, solely thanks to his remarkable manipulation skills. He is also such a realistic villain despite being in a fantastical setting with witches and demons. It really brings a good twist to the usual fantasy worlds where the villain is some overpowered monster or demon.
I also think Kikimora would rank a lot lower because she's mostly just annoying and desperate lol
I'd love to see a video on Infinity Train or Over The Garden Wall, i think both of those shows are amazing but underappreciated.

I love Belos just because he’s tied to intrinsically and thematically to the story. His motivations and past make him the perfect antagonist to the story. I also like the collector. He’s entertaining and interesting and has a cool design but I just feel like being more powerful than Belos shouldn’t automatically make him a better villain and I’m a little bummed that Belos got dethroned as the big bad.

what makes the collector so terrifying is how casually he just. moved the fucking moon. there wasn't any build up, no suspense, he just kind of. shifts it to the side with a swipe of his finger. not to mention how easily he merks belos, the big bad that the entire series had been building up

Belos is my favourite and the best toh villain he's just written so well and works his way into the story but the collector is favourite toh character as they are fun a I personally enjoy having them on screen more (basically I love the collector but belos is the better VILLAIN)

I'm still reminded of how the collector is LITERALLY OP. He gave Belos the draining spell and then reversed it by just moving the moon. He also once captured the owl beast and justed laughed at his victim and then he destroyed Belos in a game of tag and then set his eyes on the rest with the line 'do you need a headstart'. It was even the titan who had to trap him.His gullible butyou can't really get away with going back on your word like Belos. I am very interested in how his charecter will develop.
Then disney just had to say 'we're cancelling the show'

The Slither Beast: Animal...but intelligent enough for revenge and adding spices to food!
The kids from the rival school: power hungry, eager to support Belos and to cheat him, and each other.
There are others introduced after this video: other coven heads, characters in the human realm, that group of demons preying on Eda’s mom, maybe others....but for this point in the series, you really covered most!!

Belos is such an interesting villain. He really reminds me of missionaries in colonial America pretending to offer paradise while actually trying to destroy the people and cultures he encounters. I totally agree that he might be one of the best villains out there. I hope he remains in a prominent role in season 3. I'm not a fan of The Collector yet.

All these people talking about how the best villain is Belos or the Collector or whatever when Disney is right there.
I don't see Alador as a villain, more like a henchmen to the villain but not actually evil/a villain y'know? It's heavily hinted at that he's forced to do what she wants or else she'll hurt the kids, he's distant from them and helps her in bad things because he doesn't want his family to get hurt along with the fact she hides details from him so he doesn't realize he's helping the wrong people (Spoiler: like in the episode he stands up to her, she didn't tell him about Belos' plans but she knew what they were, he had no idea what was going on and thought it was a typical order albeit a tad extreme of one. The moment she became a threat to the kids and the rest of the isle, and obeying wouldn't stop people from getting hurt, he stood up to her because he had nothing to loose if he did)
I personally think king is the most powerful villain sense he is a titan he might not act like a villain but he has lots of powers, and you might be thinking he only has one power but maybe he hasn't discovered more powers in him yet! so I think maybe in one of the season 3 specials king could discover more powers that he has!
