At 9:10 you mention to drill out the muzzle hole. If anyone is doing this just be careful not to hit the screw right behind the cover section. If the plastic around the screw is compromised it can cause the barrel to loosen and split in half along the seam at the top of the barrel. Drill or cut the cover piece away and no more.
In my headcanon, the mag bases are just "from different manufacturers" and "as long as they comply with the standards and are interchangeable, the colonial marines don't mind". It's the kind of stuff that may be not screen accurate, but actually makes the thing look more "alive".
The round tube under the Grenade Launcher is the Ammo Tube which feeds like a pump shotgun. It basically holds a large spring with the tube holding up to 5 grenade rounds.
Have you tried firing the nerf darts without the barrel? (This blaster being a flywheeler, it doesn't actually _need_ the barrel...) if it works, you have the best of both worlds!
@@modelsbychris Fair enough. I use mine (even if of course I painted it) to fling foam, too. I just saw videos of people slotting the barrel through or using a clear barrel, which seems to work pretty well for both uses.
Hi Chris, I asked you a question on your first pulse rifle about the primer coat. Also what was the search term you put in on ebay to get the mag base & how much did it cost? After watching this new mod video, im going to do the mods you did on the barrel. TYVM for sharing this. Also, you can buy 3D printed proper looking machine gun plastic bullets to put in the top of the mag, on top of some of the foam bullets. I think that might make the mag look a lot better when you remove the mag.
Here's a link to the mag base. $20 on Ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/304800498508?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-yn1nzamsiu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=jfZdu8iUTkW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I will say beware of removing the barrel, only if you wish to conrinue to fire. The bullets will jam in there. Without the barrel there's not enough for them to get a good straight momentum to come out. You may be able to leave a little more in than I did to help with that. But like me, if it's for show anyway, probably doesn't matter.
Thanks for using my magazine base on your build. I hope you like it. I do have the charging handle extension and barrel extension available.

It looked smart the first time, now it looks fantastic 😉👌
Felicitaciones 😊😊😊!!!!
Nice! I like the upgrades.

Very cool Chris! Thanks for sharing. 😎🇨🇦
Nice modifications!
Great job 👍

It semi works. Because it's a long barrel, the bullets can sometimes get crooked and jam up. But I don't fire it anyway. Just on display on the wall.

Awesome work on this! What's the silver paint you use for the drybrushing?
Tamiya chrome silver
@@modelsbychris Thank you good Sir!

Unfortunately that seller wont ship to the UK.
I havent been able to find a UK seller for these ATM.
@@WickedSlimShady oh. That sucks. Sorry
Isn't the m41a just a modified m1a1 Thompson
Yes
Why did I google a plasma rifle nerf gun…..now I want one 😆
Also I always thought it was a shotgun not a grenade launcher
@rickbone3906 yep. That's what she blows up the queens nest and eggs with in the end.
@@modelsbychris been so long since I last saw the movie lol. Just remember the shells looked like shotgun shells 😂
@rickbone3906 that, they do.
Great job, why not remove more plastic where the nerf barrel was before?
It's all open inside there under that support area. If I were to remove more plastic, you'd see all the way inside and all of the mechanism.
Does it still fire with the barrel removed or do they get stuck?
They do get stuck sometimes, when I tested it. But I don't really use it and fire it. Really just a display piece.
Great video, Do you have a link for the magazine base?
Yea, it's posted in the notes field
Where did you find the Thompson charging bolt? Nice additional mods.
Google search. Lots of fun sites that have them
Where did you find the bolt handle?
A Google search. Apex Gun parts. Though they say out of stock now. But there are other sellers. Just cost more
