    At 2:08 I was surprised black didn't just play Qe2+ followed by Qxc2 mate. Oh well :)

    Instead of that late Qd5 move when king was on g8, it looks like he would've had a simpler mate by going Re8. After bXe8, qXe8 is mate in 1. Black can play Qf8 to delay mate for 1 move and that's it.

    Yes i would be excited about that game if the bullet was between two 1900 rated players. The game was way below par for two 2500 rated players.

    There was a mate before: at 3:00 black played Rc7?? and white could play Re8+ Kf7 (Bxe8 Qxe8#) Qe6#.
    Or do ioverlook something?

      ***** I not sure if that was the moment but the game he checkmated his opponent in 0.7 seconds of thinking he narrowly avoided a checkmate that is for sure since his opponent had a forced mate in 2 the turn prior

    • @vaibhav1933
      @vaibhav1933 8 років тому

      that's correct except that Qxe8 is not checkmate but Qxe8+ Qf8
      Qxf8#

    Actually you was pretty lucky Danny :D
    in the first game at 2:07 your opponent missed mate in 2 with Qe2+ ; Kc1 , Qxc2# and was pretty forced because if you didn't take the bishop and played Kc1 directly, there was Qa1# so c2-c3 was needed

      Flux234 it really was impressive as at that increment the mate had to be done both without any calculation and as his first instinct for a spur of the moment blunder

    LOL @ the "tricky" mate at 3:01. Why the hell didn't he just play Re8+, Bxe8 followed by Qe8# or Re8+, Ke7, Qe6#. Full board awareness my ass.

    "Point is if he took c3 first, i would take d7 mate". How? His bishop was not even on d7, but on c6 already by then.
    Also, Qd8 is NOT mate. Because he also has his queen covering the d8 square, and not just the rook. Unless i am missing something when you say "If he takes with the rook, then Qd8 mate". You are saying if he recaptures the bishop on c6 with rook after you capture it with your bishop, and that's AFTER he took your knight on c3 with his knight after your Bb5 move?? Well, if he took on c6 with rook, you wouldn't even need to sac queen on d8 to give mate since you can give mate in 1 on d7 with your queen+rook battery.
    I remember a game of Morphy's with similar concepts(like bishop on g5 + rook on d8 to give mate) where he sacced queen and rook to win on d8 with a single rook+DSBishop on g5 like what you had in the game. But he also deflected a knight away to b8 with a queensac.
    This game. Morphy vs Duke Karl/Count Isouard(1858).

      ***** That means he's the best still.. and it doesn't say anything about him, but rather about his opponents. He did what was required and dominated everyone of his contemporaries/peers..

    I'm dead inside. That was super lame. Let's just say, you are better at chess than you are dancing...:)
