This song and that Peaky Blinders scene. Stunning.
It was. I got lost in the moment and then thought, hang on, isn't that Thom Yorke?.....
@@sandymcconnell1969 likewise. PB is heavy with Radiohead and Thom Yorke. The music and the emotion of the scene just fitted beautifully. My heart was in my mouth for Tommy Shelby as the song kept building.
Amazing! Thought it might be Keane but it's Thom Yorke.
Anyway know the song from early in the episode, with Tommy and Arthur in the office. Can’t even find the artist?
Apparently the song which played between Arthur and Tommy scene is unreleased. Its called Teleharmonic Phaser
Hopefully they release it asap
This song has all the makings of a classic Yorke masterpiece.
Pana-vision
It's yorke❤
This song accentuated that scene so well. So much tranquility and yet so much tension, like a tug'o'war between life and death, a purgatory of sorts...
"The only person that could ever kill Thomas Shelby, is Thomas Shelby himself"
- Thomas Shelby
cringe
Thought it was gonna be Thomas Yorke... :P
Fantastic ending to a great series!
@@Halochoker who hurts you lol
@@Halochoker es solo una frase del serie amargado
Literally a Moon Shaped Pool + Spectre + Suspiria, so freaking good
def better than AMSP
ye it's like thom showed up and showed the guys a suspiria demo thingy which was scratched from the soundtrack and they just went at it
algo de king of limbs tambien

...and the daily mail
Listened to this song ten times in a row, no joke. Fucking beautiful
Piano+Thom's voice=Masterpiece!
Can't wait for this album. Gimme gimme gimme! Seriously though, love you boys.
Personally I think the twist is gonna be that there's no album, and after they release like 40 singles, the fans are tasked with having to assemble them all based on track transitions to get a full album. If you post the correct order you get a code to preorder the vinyl, but it's a 600$ 20×7"LP set, and thus begins the late but still unwelcome Gorillazification of Radiohead.
@@pepesilvia429 Funny I always think bands put songs in the wrong chronological order! Like, Burn the Witch in Daydreaming, WTF is that?!
@@twochordcool well that album didn’t have a cohesive order, it was simply alphabetical in its track listing
@@pepesilvia429 CAROL! CAROL! He mentioned on the Will Arnett/Jason Bateman podcast that they are finishing the artwork and a title has just been decided by him. Then it will release.
I wanna it too.. Greetings front Belarus
You can definitely tell Jonny arranged this. And I'm here for it.

Yet again, really nice track. This album should be wonderful.
HAUNTING.
Beautiful, eerie, deeply layered and amazingly played.
They are OTHERWORLDLY.
So well put!
This is one of the best songs thom and jonny have done in a long time in my opinion
Gonna love this album so freakin much. Nothing but masterpieces so far. Thom's new single is wonderful too... what a fantastic day.
Have you seen Anima, the 15 minutes short by P. T. Anderson and Thom acting it?
@@arturomontilla5073 Haven't seen it yet ! Want to though, i've watched 2 of his movies so far and loved them both so it will surely be the same for "Anima".
@@astrofreq My impression is: besides alienation he has to go against gravity.
@@EctoplasMan I have read that critics consider the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and RadioHead as the best bands ever. U2. One masterpiece after the other. ¡Enjoy!
Went so well with Peaky tonight, perfect !!
This has a moon shaped pool sound and I love it
Thanks
This would slot seamlessly onto AMSP.
It’s of that quality and style. And that’s a huge compliment.
I love the subtle harmonics and reverbs complimenting that lovely piano. Haunting, beautiful song.
Peaky Blinders
The final track ever used on the show last night on its final episode.
Made me cry.
What an amazing record this is.
X
Dont mean to nit pick put All the Tired Horses was the last one, but yeah theyre all great
Don't worry there's going to be a spin off movie coming in Early 2024
Same here. It's amazing how you can hear this and have that deep hearted feeling of feeling the music to the scene. I get that often it's a gift to feel music so emotionally that you cry.
@@randyknaak5150 You are referring to the smile right? Or peaky blinders? :D
First a new Thom Yorke track drops today and now this? This has been a good day.
New thom yorke track? Thanks mate, its 1 am and I already stayed up for this. Now I'm gonna have to check that out 🤣
Absolutely beautiful. Terrific in the scene with Tommy Shelby contemplating suicide - final episode. Haunting, stunning. They know how to produce art those boys
The more I listen to this the more I adore it. So hard to explain. It doesn’t sound like radiohead and it doesn’t sound like Thom solo. It’s exactly what this release should be.
It sounds a lot like Radiohead, especially the album A moon shaped pool. Daily mail also as a song.
I agree with you on some bits he does things he never did before, but this is very Thom Yorke. They have a b side or two that sounds alot like this. This is better tho
I thought straight away it was Radiohead, I was waiting on one of their songs for the big finale, wow Thom Yorke doesnt disappoint with his new creation..pure jazzy class
@@obeselifeguard6383 thank you so much. wow. what a band
It sounds exactly like Radiohead because of piano strings vocals and even drums. This is very much like a Radiohead song but that's not a bad thing
Just woke up, first day of fasting, and found out both The Smile and Thom Yorke each released new song. What a nice day
Obra maestra: jazz drummer toca con los dos músicos más originales desde los 90s. Obra maestra.
As always, much praise to Thom, well deserved of course. But Jonny Greenwood's contribution is always underestimated. With his musical expression and tone language, he is one of my greatest role models
faster Jonny
Here here!
Only ignorants would underestimate Jonny’s contribution to this song, The Smile or Radiohead.
In my personal opinion, he is the greatest musician on the planet. There’s nothing he can’t do, in any genre. He is a true pioneer and genius. I adore him.
He’s KILLING it with the orchestral work. And I guess a fair amount of these songs are his.🤷🏻♂️
I don't know, he's pretty appreciated. Everyone knows he scores all their stuff.
Those in the know and proper followers do, yes. Everyone who truly loves Radiohead and its members is aware of Jonny’s greatness. Some casual listeners just focus on Thom though. It’s understandable as he’s a genius, the frontman, lyricist and emotional focus point but Jonny is something different. He’s on a musical level of his own.
Sometimes you come across some music where you think: this is not "only" music, it is art ....... this is one of those times.
Where film and music come together so beautifully...
if u like this i think you would like my song
Extremely nice sounding piano
Especially when the lower chords come in and it is complete
Just when you think Thom Yorke has done his best work he blinds you with another incredible track...Wow!!💪
I’m beginning to realize that although I am a Radiohead fan, I’m actually just a bigger fan of Thom. He’s easily my favorite artist ever, and I feel really blessed to have seen him once with Radiohead and once solo, right after Anima, in a more close/intimate venue.
Tommy Shelby the best ever character to grace our screens..
Oh i can hear A LOT of Jonny here! Beautiful 💙
Sounded fabulous on finale of Peaky Blinders 👍
Just a paradise of melody, harmony and pure lyrical brilliance!! Topped with the tense filled scene of Peaky Blinders ❤️😊 How can it get any better than this 🙏😍
This is STUNNING. The best track yet so far - I'm shaking.
Thanks for this beautiful track to go along to an amazing scene in Peaky Blinders !
Heard it on Peaky Blinders last night. Outstanding.
Absolutely in love with this song and with The Smile proyect.
(Reminds me a bit of 'Remainder the black dog')
my favorite song of them yet (all of them are incredible, but this one..)
Soooooo... good to hear the haunting and emotional voice of Thom Yorke 1st saw Radiohead in Sheffield just before Pablo Honey came out in front of about 150 people and been hooked ever since.
It's an honor having Tom York and his band as mentors since the earlier nineties. Thank you for the honest inspiration 🙏
I knew i wasnt crazy when i heard thom in here. I just thought it was a radiohead song. God bless peaky blinders for introducing me to radiohead
I sense a new favourite band arising
I truly love the delicate way of performing and recording the drums in this song, full of beautiful details
Thom Yorke, you are a reason to keep being alive
I completely agree.
BETA!!!
He puts on his pants the same as you. Fantastic music but no need to treat like a god.
Wow to much pressure on one human being from another,I agree he has unique brilliance, but he don't need the pressure man.
@@paulwalker2777 Probably. I am honest. Just as he has been, ever since I remember him.

The haunting music, vocals and the colorful animation are incredible.
Thom + Jonny = Magic
I never thought I’d be able to have a single all-time favorite song, but this has become that for me. I can never get enough of this. Just perfect.

This is giving me so much life during the war. Thank you.
Favorite track so far!!! Can’t wait to here more from the album
love that this song has an amount of jonny greenwodisms, the moment i heard the opening piano i literally went "oh now THIS is Greenwoodian As Fuck". but ofc the influences from thm and skinner r present as well. definitely feels like a song where influence from jonny's more sinister sounding soundtrack/orchestral work comes through on which i def wanted to hear in this album
Would recommend taking a listen to the recent Smartless podcast Thom and Jonny appeared on. Reveals that Jonny and Tom Skinner went to Thom with a load of stuff and were like, shall we do something with this? Not saying Thom hasn’t also contributed musically but I think a lot of the tunes are Jonny in origin and defo this one. Such a cool project 🙌
I would actually say this is has some heavy thom influences. Sounds very similar to his suspiria soundtrack.
Are you saying Jonny wrote the piano bit? I imagined it was a Thom but it’s interesting to hear it’s Jonny.
@@infernojim that was such a fantastic episode and my introduction to Smartless. I loved the organic feel of that interview and Jason Bateman was adorkable. It's been said a thousand times, but Thom & Jonny (and all of Radiohead) just seem so pleasant to talk to and somehow still remain humble.
@@heyya99 the string arrangements are Jonny for sure but this is a piano forward song. Thom is definitely behind the overall composition.
Needs no words, just listen... mesmerizing
Feels like coming home , these note changes.. 😻🏴
♥️ Thom Yorke...
The best thing about all that 'ending'.
Peaky Blinders got me here !!!

Just wonderful.
The strings ahhhh
If that's the music for their side project (a.k.a. The Smile), imagine how epic the next Radiohead record's gonna be.

"Pana-Vision"
My eyes are open wide
And then I see you
Without your robes on
Without your crown
And I don't want to hate you
I don't want to bear
The kind of fascination
That gets in my way
The door that opens wide
My high up altar
Oh Heaven, help me
Is that the time?
Beginning, without end
Never lost, never die
Unending, a beam of light
A tunnel, in my mind
As it opens wide
With a filter on the lens
Forget everything you knew
She sees everything you do
And without my shirt on
Over broken glass
I am dancing for pennies
I am staring straight ahead
A view that is so wide
It's gonna break
It's like it holds me in its gaze
If I go, it's because
It's happened once before
And now it's starting all again
As it opens wide
With a filter on the lens
Forget everything you knew
As it opens wide
Like a new born child
Like a new born child
Like a child
Like a child
Like a child
Like a child
I think the end of the 4th stanza is different in this version 🤔
Is the line really "Unending, a beam of light"? When I first heard it I thought the line was "And in death, a beam of light," which makes more sense to me.
Is it “without my shirt” or “without my shoes”? The latter makes me think of Die Hard
@@normanshoulda4749 Thom sang "without my shirt" during the live performances but the line is definitely "without my shoes" in this studio version
@@BFTurtledoves gotcha
Radiohead; A blinders best friend since 2013.
A very good song, and great drums from Tom Skinner. Thom's an amazing songwriter, and his vocals here are good. Jonny never fails to disappoint.
Never fails to disappoint... never fails to deliver or never disappoints haha
Man. This is high quality. Really good music
Thank you thom, you’re me and my moms favorite musician, she loved The Bends and Ok Computer and I showed her this and she loves it, thanks!
This is my favorite studio track from them thus far. Love the AMSP vibes.
so, it's been a few days now, we all agree that this is a complete masterpiece right? like, one of the best tracks from Yorke in maybe a decade?
Not quite
yes. insanely good
could do with being 8 or 9 mins tho
That track was just perfect for the scene. Lyrics and music could not have been bettered. Best final episode I've ever watched, the music still chills me, as I listen to the lyrics and watch the final episode.
Its great but not one of the best yorke songs or radiohead songs especially IMO
masterpiece after masterpiece. love it.
Divine, sublime
Attack of the kidney people! Just the image that came to my brain when I saw this video. Great track though! It has everything I love about Thom and Johnny’s writing. Piano, strings, horns, awesome cord progression, Thom’s impassioned vocals and subtle drums. Just love it!
"Kindney on Titan" or "attack on kidney"?
This is my favorite release of theirs yet! I am now getting extremely excited for the release of this album!
such a glorious day!
Epic: instant classic. All here Must hear: David Axelrod's albums, specifically Song of Innocence (one track is not-coincidentally titled "the Smile"), and Songs of Experience. So clearly influential to these Gents. You're welcome 😎.
A TV show had me searching for this track.
Already masterpiece🔥
What @n appropriate way to have Peaky Blinders sign off.... An exceptional series!!
Anf the soundtrack throughout has been incredible
Aside from the brilliant music, they never fail on the visuals. Stunning.

Very powerful and deep work. Thank you for being. There was a strong resonance.
Other songs so far very good, but this one, awesome, love the slightly dissonant piano and strings, and drumming, well everything!
