I recently switched from A7iv to FX30s. Mainly… heat. I shoot in Texas and have the fans made it a game changer. I got over the crop. I adjusted for it. I will however save for FX3s for the lowlight.
I've got both FX3 and FX30 and they pair sooooo well together. All the same buttons make it super easy to pick up either one and start shooting. The ONLY feature it's missing is the built-in ND like you mentioned.
@@WaywardNorth that's more than likely not going to happen. their new $25K Burano's big selling point is it being the first of it's kind to include both IBIS and built-in ND. physically, there's no space in the FX3 to add a swinging ND system; it would have to increase substantially in both size and price to support that, or potentially remove the IBIS entirely.
Hey ! I’ve had an fx30 for a year an a half and looking to get a B cam and torn between getting a second fx30 or an fx3 ? I can afford the fx30 no problem But I can also make it work if I buy the fx3 , I’ve got all the gear I need , lenses , cards, cages , ect so I would just be buying the second cam and I’m ready to have 2 cam setups .. I’m planning on getting more in on shooting weddings and maybe some more live concert footage , I feel like I’m being limited shooting concert footage but I kind of make it work ,, I was hoping that someone that had both could help me make a decision !
@@Tonellacam If you only have APS-C lenses, I'd get another FX30. If you have FF lenses, definitely get the FX3. There is something special about the 12MP sensor.
I mostly do corporate/non-profit work…have been using the Canon C70 mostly, but got the FX30 as a light kit, and it has been stellar for interviews. Easier settings that the Canon.
1. I love your channel 2. How did you do the motion graphics stuff ? 3. I’m buying an fx30 now for travel and education documentaries as well as sports. Thanks! Any Lens recommendations 💕
Thanks so much! I use Motion Array for motion graphics. I have a link in the description if youre interested in checking it out! Lens recommendations for the FX30. I loved using my 24-70 with this combo but the Sigma 18-35 is also a solid choice with this cam!
Would I ever use my FX30 while my A7SIII is available? No. Would I be 100% confident if all I had on a wedding day is my FX30? Yes! I love having four cameras I'm confident would give me really similar results. If someone is just starting out just go with two FX30's over one FX3.
Great video, as always!!! I have all those cameras also (Sony), and they give you a lot of convenience. But I’m pretty sure we can make great videos even using a phone. Is not about the cameras you have, but all acknowledge and skills. By the way, I love your background. It would be fantastic you make a video about it. Great content men. Love your videos, your video style and your background hehe … wish you the best
Super 35 and fullframe image all have their place, but i think both if them really is a good companion to each other. Fx3 has better bokeh, less rolling shutter and lowlight capabilities, but fx30 has crisper images and it's more punched in. I have fx3 but i want to have couple fx30 bodies as a B and C cam for multiangel shots. If you can only chose one, pick one that suits your needs. And if later on you are in need for more than 1 Camara, consider a second one of the same or the other one.
The difference in battery life is for real! It’s not quite 2x but my FX30 definitely goes through a few more batteries on a wedding day then my FX3. That said, I use each one at different times throughout the day and you can’t go wrong! And people shouldn’t forget about the A7Siii as an option either! Wish Sony would give it some update love, but it’s still a workhorse!
Right?! That was one of the first things I noticed. I know, If I was rolling in the cash Id definitely just get the FX3 and pair it with the A7Siii but honestly getting 2 FX30's for the same price sounds like a solid option
@@WaywardNorth might be I little wait saw I video of som rep saying it’s still not yet possible in mirrorless body’s. Think it was a black magic rep. Hopefully Sony has something in the bag. Or another company, I’d say the first company with decent build nd and global shutter in a mirrorless body will be the biggest almost overnight.
In the sense of photo opportunities, both cameras are losing ground and therefore the S 5-2 lumix holds its positions here, which I am trying to upgrade

I totally get that! Fans are a must have if you are in a warmer state for sure.

I knowwww I can’t wait for that feature to be added because I know it’s coming in the next addition. “Hopefully”

Very honest informative video, especially about the GH5 still being extremely relevant, just subscribed.
Appreciate you!!
Noticing some more personality added into the videos, love it man!

A Sony 18-35 1.8 APSC Lens would double the value of the FX30

Preach it!
If I was starting over today I would definitely go the Sony route and probably get one of each 😄 They're both such great cameras!
Agreed! But if I were rolling in money bags, Id probably be on the C70's. Still have a crush on Canon
@@WaywardNorth Fair enough 😄 I do LOVE my internal NDs. The size of those Sonys is just so nice.
Would you recommend the A7SIII or the FX3? I know they were not very different when released, but now firmware has separated the two.

Focusrite with the Shure SM7B mic

If you have no idea fx30 is the way to go. get some fast glass from the money you saved and be done with it, at least that's what I would do
Totally! I think now I’m just in limbo waiting for the inevitable FX3 Mark ii with built in NDs lol

gotta be fx30 for me. I prefer super35 over full frame for video

For sure, if you are hybrid shooter these camera's aren't ideal since they are video focused. The A7IV or S52 definitely thrives in the hybrid market.

Thank you for saving me money 😅😂

ISO 800
