  • This is a video chronicling my project to make a free standing Wave Master style punching bag for $60. Please keep in mind that I do not accept any responsibility for injuries or harms that may befall you should you attempt to copy what I demo here. This is a DIY project... attempt at your own risk.

    Nicely done. If I may suggest, place on a mat and pour a 80 lb of cement into the tire or one in both tires. The center of gravity will increase tremendously.

    What I'm getting from this is... just save up and buy a bag

      I am still using this to this day. However I learned that wrapping the foam in a cloth or tarp makes it last longer and not crack between the tape strips

    Just pour concrete in the tire. Won't tip and no need to construct a miniature city in your tire.

    I've cut ties in half and screw them to the back of the garage , one head height and a couple down lower for kicks . That works well . The tire gives enuff...couple sand bags in your tires may hold it down better. .my son is at that age . I need to make him somthing like this because my stomach ain't as hard as it use to be and my arms are getting pretty sore ... it's time he beats on a bag , I want to make one indoor friendly. I can place it on a rug or mat.i made one outside I wrapped a round fence post in a couple layers of carpet nailing them down , and taped a bunch of shit like old close and blankets to it then wrapped that with plastic so it wouldn't get wet . Pretty ruff on the knuckles. Newd leather gloves . But it worked.

      my pleasure. Though I advice putting a tarp around it, I am working on adding that to mine as sometimes when I hit really hard the duct tape rips.

    Nice. Here,s a suggestion for next time: Attach fins to wood 4x4 (like rocket fins) that are the radius of the tire, screw them all to wooden base on floor, slide tire over pole and fins, screw that to base and to fins, slide second tire over pole, screw that to first tire and to fins, drop in sand bags, then add foam etc.
    Then kick it til it vomits foam. :-)

  • @russelldavis8415
    @russelldavis8415 5 років тому

    Likely better to insert a wooden square block in the base, add on two wooden slats in an + shape, secure with 4-6 screws on the base. Then you have the weight of both tyres holding it down?

    A little more weight below would help reduce wobble. The more weight you add up top the more it is likely to fall over. Generally a solid concept though.

    I think I'll make one of those.... But, I'll use a 4 by 4, an old tire with a wood base attached to the tire and 4 by 4.... then I'll fill the tire with cement... 90lb bag of cement $5 bucks or so... Then I'll rap the 4 by 4 with an old carpet then duct tape it to death...

    How much money will it cost?

    • @simonscher5413
      @simonscher5413 5 років тому +1

      Depends on what you have access to. If you have or can get free old popped tires and a used discarded fense post. And if you have two metal rods, and if a friend of yours works at a mattress factory and has extra rolls of foam in his basement. Then it will only cost 5$ for duct tape if you get off brand factory reject duct tape from acme surplus or online in bulk.
