I absolutely love your videos!! Can you do a video on how you quarantine? Do you pretreat for parasites? I'd love a detailed video on it. And your videos are FULL of great info so im sure a quarantine video would be great coming from you!
A nice video. They tend to catch some fish diseases, like ich and some kind of fungi issues. Sometimes tiny white worms like things (Dermosporidium) can be seen on their skin. Need to quarantine them thoroughly before put them to your fish tank. One of the best fish to put into a blackwater tank setup. Thanks for the great video content again.
@@SerendibAquatics Amazing video to be honest, I want to encourage you to please please please keep breeding them in captivity, they are about to be prohibited here in Colombia because they are not being found in the rivers they usually live in. Its reaaally sad, i've spent a couple days without being able to sleep because the fishing business here are not finding any and they are twice expensive as before. Thank you for helping us conserving this awesome fish, is my favourite one.
It's an interesting video but also be mindful that purchasing wild caught cardinal tetra actually helps preserve the Amazon rain forest in Brazil and Colombia. People living and fishing in these areas also protect the area they live in. Fish are caught very gently and cared for all through their journey across the planet. Besides, cardinal tetra populations boom and bust every year. The methods used don't cause over fishing. Mine were imported from Brazil for this reason. If these fisheries would no longer exist, the forests are at risk of being exploited for logging, mining and farming. An awful lot of the Amazon rainforest has already disappeared this way. This has also caused a lot of fish species to go extinct because of habitat loss. I also feed Dr. Bassleer! And occasionally live foods like daphnia or tubifex. Put live tubifex in a floating net and they'll pick off the worms falling through with a huge appetite!

yes my fish also the same. Best thing is 14 days quarantine before put the main tank.
It could be because of the export process, here in Colombia they do not suffer if well handled.
