When applying the lotion should I be before or after applying the gel? I’m going to start gel in the next few days and I want the most absorption I can get
My bloodwork shows the difference between arms and scrotum. Scrotum absorbs so much better. I’m talking about a 107 ng/dl difference. One question though is it okay to apply at night? With my job it’s about 110 degrees all day and I work 6 to 6 and I sweat a ton.

studies have shown applying moisturiser 1 hour after application increases absorption.
I started on the gel 5 days ago and after reading how to apply I thought that it would be a waste to wash my hands after the application and send some of that gel down the drain so came up with applying it with a rubber glove. The glove won't soak it up and I'll get my full dose.

I use the cap off the bottle of gel and then clean it.

My question is about Keratosis Pilaris, and if could affect Testogel absorption. I recently started Testogel and have been applying it to the areas you recommended. Pre T I used to use KP lotions with lactic acid and urea. Now I've paused those in case they affect it. Actives like lactic acid seem like a bad idea, but wondering if plain urea cream could work as an occlusive barrier over the gel, like you mentioned? Guessing Testogel itself is quite damaging to the skin barrier. So sorry for the long comment!

I've been on T-gel for two years and not a whole lot has changed. I think I'm going to try and overcome my fear of needles and get the shots
I'm there with ya. 1.5 years and not too much has changed other than losing 10 pounds. I've heard the shots though can cause some really big swings in your T levels and the side effects that come with it, so I'm reluctant.
It is different for everyone tbh but are u fully pushing the pump down to get the full dose? My dumbass was only pushing until some came out ( so not getting my full dose ) so that could be a factor as to why maybe u aren't having as noticeable changes
@@usmc8408 Yeah since it's once a week the levels aren't as consistent as daily gel, and that's got me feeling a little iffy too so I totally get you.
@@infaredgarbage I think so. Now I need to make sure I am because you're so right, I might not be. But also like you said everyone is different. My T-levels have been around 600 since my doctor told me 2 1/2 pumps, but that half pump most likely isn't consistent.
@GrimCrumbz yeah u definitely don't want them getting to high though, my friend got severally ill and had to lower his dose .
I have a large tattoo on one of my shoulders and my prescription says to apply to both shoulders. Is it over to apply the gel overtop of a tattoo?

Do you have to apply it in the same area everyday? Or can you apply it one day on your shoulder, one day on your leg, and so on...?
Alternate between shoulders to prevent build up.

Im so confused.. I has tostran 2% gel (20mg) to begin with and it said apply to your stomach or inner thighs. Now I got testogel 50mg and this one says to "apply to your chest or shoulder, do not apply to stomach"
Ive searched on Google and they say either shoulders, chest, stomach or thighs. So where should i apply to and which place is best?
Also when researching on google it says to get full effect then wash the place with warm water and soap / shower, clean/dry the area, apply gel, wait 5-10m before taking clothes on, 1 hour after then apply moisturizer and if u have hair there then shave the hair of.

My gel producer writes don't apply it on fat, but on muscles and thin skin. Chest is good, but without the b00bs.
@@Machete_Kissed_Ya thanks for the info. I applied it on my chest then changed to arms and it backfired on me and i lost all my energy i gained from it, slept all day and depressed and everything. Now i put it on inner thighs and i regained my energy again. So thats the place for me apparently. But i see what u mean with muscle and not fat. But im so skinny so whh the chest area didnt worked, I dunno.

I will go back to gel now too, because the 3 month depot gives me 6 weeks good energie, changes and hair growth,...(I'm in my transition), but the last few weeks I'm aggressiv, tired, annoyed and nothing is changing on my body, but my voice getting higher. I want to have every day the same testo in my blood, like it's natural for male born. So gel is a better way for me.

Genuine question (as you're a doctor maybe you can help with this question), does applying it to your stomach, or lower arms work as well as upper arms? I know upper arms are recommended for lowered risk of transmission to others, but I have tattoos on my upper arms and I'm worried I'm ageing them by applying T gel which has a high alcohol content (inherently drying) on them daily. I do also moisturise anyway, but the skin still gets flaky on the tattoo sites after the gel. (I've had them for a couple of years)
A lot of people say to follow the exact instructions of pharmacists on where to apply gel but everyone also says its best when applied to low fat areas, like arms, idk who I should listen to because I want it to work well :/

ben haseen- i have one more question- do you know how much miligrams/percentage of absorption actually gets absorbed if application done correctly on the shoulders? if i have a 50mg testosterone tube to use per day per instructions, would i get all 50mgs if applied correctly? if so, would that be 350mgs for the whole week? wouldn't that be considered too high of trt dosage? or would one only get 10-15mgs of the 50mgs totaling around 100 plus or minus a bit per week? lil confused about that. thanks for your expertise.

I'm switching from injections to Androgel 1.62 this week. I was wondering the same thing. My prescription is three pumps.daily which is supposed to total 60mg then x7=420mg weekly so apparently it's absorbed differently.
Ok so you are on 50 mg per day. As far as skin absorption yes you are getting that much. However unlike the shots with heavy oils and inta muscular injections every two weeks the body will use your application immediately and say you didn’t give yourself any for two days then your t levels would go down to baseline where you started pre t. It doesn’t have a reserve in the muscle or fat as it isn’t oil based. That’s why the gel is applied daily.

Is it better to take gel in the morning or evening like right before bed??
My endocrinologist told me either works, but for men testosterone generally spikes in the morning, so taking it in the morning may be most comfortable for the body.

When you say using spf/moisturizer, do you mean before or after you apply t gel?
lotion can be good to apply about an hour after the gel to help "seal" the area and help absorption.
I hope you answer doc. I am a 51 years old woman with very low testosterone. I am on HRT but not testosterone. I have lots of problems but my doctor isn't giving me testosterone. I have severe hair loss, zero sex drive, headaches, joints pain and weak muscles. Here in Germany i cannot get testosterone without a prescription but i got it when i was on holiday in another country. This testosterone gel comes in a little packets. I am not going to use one packet all in one day. As i am aware of side affect (change of voice and more hair loss). My question is, can i use one packet in 7 days? Will it be ok to use in a few dats once the packet is opened ? I really appreciate if you answer.

I’m on Teva’s generic 1.62% 40.5 mg packets (two packets per day). It takes a couple minutes to dry.

Omg I'm so mad. I was switched to gel from shots and all I was instructed to do was "just rub it on the shoulder area". They didn't specify anything, so I've been rubbing it on top of my ny shoulders. For a month now I've been having low T and period cramps.
Ive been using gel for 2 years. Low dose. Didnt notice any benefit. Decided to increase dose. Felt amazing on a higher dose. One gel tube is 50mg of testosterone.
How much do you use now? I have also testogel 50mg in one dose, and I think to use 2 per day. Thanks

It's a valid theory to apply to the thighs because of how much surface area of the thigh has. The only issue is the lack of vascularity that you would get compared to the arms!

@@liamlynch2115I apply to my scrotum. It’s the thinnest skin and I absorb it so much better. My blood work showed the change. Arms compared to scrotum is night and day. Yes scrotum will absorb two pumps

@@senorpepper3405it works incredibly well, get high quality testosterone base. If you decide to use esters you will need to know how to dissolve it and only certain ones work most won’t dissolve or absorb through skin properly. Test base can mimic natural testosterone production

ben haseen- question- are there anymore beneficial application areas? i heard someone from another video mention under the testicals, another video mentioned the anal area. i would assume both of these areas are not only direct or closely directed towards the targeting area where test is produced, but both areas have a lot of vessels with a high absorption rate, makes sense to me, i just started today with the vile version of gel at 50mg per vial and applied to both shoulders with one vile.
another question- so at 50mg per vial, instructions say to use one vile per day, well, doesn't that add up to 350mgs per week? if so, that would be considered blasting, if i want just 100 plus or minus %, would i not do every day and maybe 2 viles per week, once every 3 days? newbie here, thanks.
Hey Jim! Not sure if there's any research on those two areas that you spoke of in this comment, but I'm going to try to explain why I don't think those two areas are beneficial. When it comes to maximum absorption of testosterone gel, you want to look at two different modalities, surface area and vascularity. Although those two areas that you spoke of has more than ample vascularity, the surface area is actually quite limited. So in a sense, I don't think there's enough service area to provide better absorption. Also, when you think of the anal vascular system, most of it is actually inside the rectum and not outside on the skin. This is why suppositories have to be inserted but once it is inserted into the rectum, has excellent absorption but not on the outside. I hope this helps in getting better clarity!
@@lionhearted_ben thanks for the response, i watched a couple of those same vids, i didn't catch the major detail that made the difference the first time viewing the vids, however, the second time i found out it is for the creams, not the gels, because the gels are highly acidic or lots of alcohol in the serums, in that case, would irritate/burn those areas, yeah, that makes sense, i wouldn't want that burn on either one of those sensitive places, lol. thanks.

Not OP but you take as much as your doctor recommends. Everyone has different levels that they need. But basically yeah, totally fine to do it whenever you feel, just once per day.
