AMP CORRECTION & BACK STORY - The Marshall amp was Modded by Voodoo Amps, not Voodoo Labs. It started out life as a Reissue JCM800 2203x. Anders had played an outdoor show at the long running annual ‘Grassroots Festival’ in Trummansburg NY a few years ago. Backline amps were needed for the gig & a Marshall we Modified for producer Alex Perialas (amp also used on 1st Joe Bonamassa record). This was an early version of our ‘Hex’ circuit that was voiced specially for Alex with a unique hand-wound prototype ‘plexi’ spec Output Transformer made by Simcha Delft in New Zealand circa 1999. Simcha was one of the designers in the transformer company Obsolete Electronics (more commonly known as ‘OEI’) along company founder Joe Pampel. A few months after the show, Anders contacted us & asking if we could make a duplicate amp for him. As OEI was no longer making transformers specs were drawn up & sent to Mercury Magnetics. Voodoo Amps President / Founder Trace Davis installed the new transformer set as well as the same Circuitry Modifications & also added some additional Customization to better match Anders playing style. The amp was shipped to Anders on 10-23-2014 & as is talked about in Premier Guitar’s Rig Rundown video at 22:08. Many thanks to Anders, his tech & John Bohlinger! - Voodoo Amps (www.voodooamps.com)
This is the first time I've heard of Anders Osborne. I must have been under a big rock. One of the things I like about Rig Rundown is I get introduced to some really great talent like Anders. Umphrey's McGee was another great find for me. Thanks RR!
Nice, my company is Rocky Mountain Slides Company in Poncha Springs CO, and the slide that Anders is using is the Tomichi in Mojo Green. We worked together to create this model, but at the time he was hooked on the the wine bottle slides...glad to see he can include mine in the mix...very cool!!! for more info you can go to my website www.rockymountainslides.com
Anders is the real deal. Seeing him live is a trip. Don't recall seeing anyone push himself to the edge like Anders, he's a high wire act once he gets going.
Odds are it's a Charvel neck on the black strat with an aftermarket Fender headstock decal on it. Birdseye, ebony, 22 jumbo frets, straight cut fingerboard overhang, narrow 12th fret dot spacing, skunk stripe on the back and walnut plug at the headstock in the mid 1980s all spells Charvel.
+XSSIVE I am thinking that a 80's charvel neck would be micro thin compared to a fender neck .so much so,it would be obvious. plus They would have though of that ,no?
I know I'm late to this but there were certainly guys making fake Fenders as early as 1980...I vote that it's a Kubicki neck. Guys were trading/selling Fender decals wayyyyy back.
What a refreshing Rig Rundown THIS was! A player with personality (both himself and through his playing!), a real straightforward, "working man's" rig, and just the right amount of shootin' the shit :) Good times! Thanks a lot!
Really enjoyed watching that, loved the guitars and the beautiful slide work. Category 5 amps are making some amazing gear of late, keep up the great work PG !!
John Bohlinger is the best interviewer in Premier Guitar. I always look forward to his awesome rig show! He brings out the true nature of the artist. Keep it JOHN! You're the man!
Anders is such an awesome guitarist. I love his playing style coupled with that great tone. seems to be a very humble, down to earth, nice guy. I can't believe John didn't know who Pepper Kenan was! lol :)
How the heck do you not know Pepper Keenan and work in this industry? Go find this awesome guitarist and make a Down rig rundown just to make amends :)
All of his guitars seem to be out of tune. He would be a blast to hang out and jam with. Never met Dave Malone, I’ve jammed with and listened to his brother Tommy many times.
I see so many guys that play strats that also use a les Paul with either paf style or p90s and a 335. Makes sense, I've always played strats and my dream guitars are a 335 just like that one, or a black casino or an old prs with pafs
He got the year wrong on that 335. In 972 Gibson imprinted their name on the pickups, unless he changed the 'pups out. Sorry Mr Osborne. LoL. #themoreyouknow
+Tyler Hier They stopped using the "Gibson" embossed pickups in May of '72. If the guitar was manufactured in the early part of the year then you're correct. If it was manufactured in the later part of the year then it won't have the logo on the pickups.

hug at the end, that's New Orleans hospitality for you
John, you guys at Premier are really getting some amazing interviews lately, keep up the great work.
It's so great to finally see Anders featured like this. He is a national treasure. Great video. John B. is really good at these rundowns.
anders is just the sort of guy that has a lifetime of stories and could change your perception of everything in an afternoon

very cool looking for a new slide
Super cool rundown! Didn't know of this guy but I already love him just for his personality! Cheers!
Same here!
Had some great times in New Orleans at Tipitina's listening to Anders and friends play music. 🎸
I love that Anders hasn't lost his swedish accent. Uddevalla forever!!!

Really enjoyed watching that, loved the guitars and the beautiful slide work. Category 5 amps are making some amazing gear of late, keep up the great work PG !!

That Tele is amazing.
Justin L Total class.....such beauty....
great video...loved how Anders showed us how each guitar and effect sounded....thank you!
Super nice guy and great artist. Saw him back in the mid 90’s in Alexandria La. very nice guy.
It's great to hear the artist play through the pedals and not just talk about em...nice work!:)
Damn that’s some gorgeous slide work.
Great vibes all round. Thanks PG for another stellar Rundown, I need to check this guy's music out now.
Anders is such an awesome guitarist. I love his playing style coupled with that great tone. seems to be a very humble, down to earth, nice guy. I can't believe John didn't know who Pepper Kenan was! lol :)
"My favorite pedal is the wall ross" walrus haha this is a great rundown!!
Awwe, that was the only rundown I've seen end with a hug. Sweet fellas
Love that he threw a quick shout out to Pepper Kennan from COC and Down!!!
Never heard of this guy. But 9:20. That's pure wisdom.
Thanks for the great interview John and PG!!!!
Love these Rig Rundowns, especially when the players play their rigs.
beautifull episode lovely
his technique is so thoughtful and intelligent and expressive very nice
Never heard of this fella, but this was a great watch! Cool guy, with cool stuff!
Anders Osborne...my new favorite human...who also makes great music...
These Rig Rundowns have been on point the last few weeks! I vote you take a third stop at Keith Urban's rig!
True gentleman and really good guy, Mr. Osborne.
Well done, great rundown.
That is almost certainly a Warmoth neck on the 68 body. Also surf green was not an available reissue color until 1986.
Pretty cool rundown!
Awesome this was a great rundown amazing stories
Anders is such a nice guy, I wish I could chat with him
Well that solves one of the longest mysteries of my musical life: why does the MIDDLE pickup on a strat have a tone control and not the bridge?
Fantastic that for once someone mentiones the cables for the pedalboard
the fender custom relic department would have a hell of a challenge reproducing that thing
What a great guitar tech!
Need a rig rundown on Eddie Perez and Raul Malo of The Mavericks. Get it done Premier!
I love it when a dude can play G and C and say "That`s it right there!".
Anders Osborne is awesome! :)
What a great guy.
How the heck do you not know Pepper Keenan and work in this industry? Go find this awesome guitarist and make a Down rig rundown just to make amends :)
+Andrei Gorgos Really! I thought the same thing.
JB has never heard of Pepper Keenan ?
+David Oakes I was shocked when he said "no."
+David Oakes yeah but if you're not into metal, you wouldn't know the corrosion of conformity
great interview
What a jolly chap
Liking the haircut, John!
13s in open D. Hell yes.
wow, it must be abnormally chilly in Nashville, haha
Damn Anders is awesome!
Distorted tone at 28:18 is pretty sweet.
The right hand technique is called "chopping veggies "
What a nice dude
Shit $170!? I thought I got a steal when I bought my '76 LP Deluxe for $425 in '86!
Therapy? please ! They're touring Infernal Love at the moment.
Love the Rig Rundown videos boys! Any way you could get in touch with Jonny Buckland from Coldplay? Id love to see his setup.
When are you going to do Muse? Thanks for this great channel guys!
The beginning play: is that part of a song, or just messin' around? If it's part of a song, somebody please let me know the name!
please try to do the Disco Biscuits!!
Poor tech. He really, really wanted to be in this video.
+Nano B Who wouldn't?
John Bohlinger reminds me of Josh Brolin..... they even have the same initials.
Rocky Mountain Slides
24:07 That's the opposite of a problem
You said yeah like 1000 times
All of his guitars seem to be out of tune. He would be a blast to hang out and jam with. Never met Dave Malone, I’ve jammed with and listened to his brother Tommy many times.
Am I the only one who notices something off about this guy? 15:21- "It's like basketball with some balls."
Robby Fowler the bounce in the reverb...
Andrew's is the best!!!
I before z except after vowels
Instead of worrying about where he got his slide from, should be asking if he has a hair brush.
U2'S THE EDGE RUNDOWN
I see so many guys that play strats that also use a les Paul with either paf style or p90s and a 335. Makes sense, I've always played strats and my dream guitars are a 335 just like that one, or a black casino or an old prs with pafs
Who knew Anders was so funny
big rundown
