This is exactly what my wife has been looking for on our boat. Looking forward to hearing how it worked on your boat. Thank you Jeff for your excellent videos and instructions. You are helping to make us all better boaters! Keep up your great work!
I cant wait to see you review on this device!! I watched your video and was excited till I looked at your video release date (Yesterday) Dang I will have to wait now!! Hope it is as great as we expect it to be!! Happy sailing!
unfortunately only works in North America, and 199$ per month for 20 GB data, sounds quite expensive to me..Hoping for some Starlink option with moving location to come up.
Hahaha, Jeff, I love the nerdy vibe you bring across while opening up these electronics. Thanks again for all these videos, and damn you (just a little :p) for draining my wallet ever since I started watching :D
If this requires a sim card it makes me wonder what networks they're using and if there isn't some more open source solution to the technically inclined that would allow using this or a similar device to get cellular signal on a boat using ones regular cellular plan.
@Pacific Yacht Systems This too was my question after watching the video. Is there a SIM slot we can supply a card for, or are we only able to use KVH's data plan? I would buy this today if I could know 100% that I can supply my own SIM card and plan. And then there would be a KVH sat dome for sale...anyone? ;-)

Me and you both J Time, thanks for posting.
Vicariously living through Jeff
Lots of excitement opening this product.
What are your thoughts a year later ?
How many stars would you give it after using it on your boat Jeff?
IMO regardless of need/want. The more ways you can communicate if you're in trouble the better.

It shouldn't be too much longer.
Yep Starlink will be a game changer.
Price point thanks. Yes, the future is bright if not like a carrot on a stick still.

LOL, good one.
How do you compare this product to the peplink hd dome?
Don't know, as I haven't tried peplink HD dome.

The international carrier, is Vodafone i believe.
Sounds like an easy way to make friends with your fellow boaters 👍😀😱
LOL, good one.
Do you have to use their data plans or can I use a Telus SIM card for example, and continue with my existing data plan?
Good question, KVH offers a plan with Vodafone, not sure if it's the only plan available.

Jeff, In ALL honesty...your Z E E L is because it's F R E E!
Just a little.
This is the best way to buy something for yourself and get the full tax write off. Great job lol
LOL
Tru
four screws and you could have revealed what's under the dome.... We didn't come here for cables and cardboard after all.
who didn't?
Hey Skippie, didn't think of it, thanks for the suggestion.
