Great info and thanks for including us as one of the options! Milwaukee is very strict about this with their dealers and appear to stop selling to other dealers who sell through Amazon anyway. Follow up support is something they take very seriously. As a warranty repair center of course happy we take warranty repairs from any legit source, we do tons from the local Orange Boxes but can't do anything off Amazon or Ebay, you'd also be shocked at how good some counterfeits are getting...
OPT is the best! Plus, they host great events with world renowned stars of the UA-cam of Tool Community (and they even let that guy from Philidelphia attend, mostly out of sheer kindness, I'd imagine.)
The counterfeits are so good because there probably made by the same company that Milwaukee subs everything out too.
"Milwarkee N18" 😅
M18, N18, O18 or P18...is there really a difference?
(Just kidding...please don't flame me!)
I only get my tools from reputable dealers and stores that stand behind the products they sell. It just isn't worth the trouble purchasing them through pirated sources on Amazon.
Besides, with all the sweet deals we hear about from all the UA-cam personalities we know and love, why would you need to take a chance on pirated or possibly stolen tools from shady characters like Clint's evil twin? 🤣😂🤣
OPT is a legit place to buy from. Always been happy. Missed a free battery add on once and shipped it no problem. Happy repeat customer
Sadly, when I buy a power tool I am never worried about the warranty. Why you ask, well it's because they make it so hard and expensive to get a tool warrantied or they will find a loophole not to warranty the tool, it's just not worth the hassle to me to try and get it warrantied. I'm a Dewalt man and in the 25 or 30 plus years I've been buying Dewalt I have only ever had one tool fail. It was a drill, old 18 volt model and that was from high use, abusive use from trying to do more with the drill than it was ever designed to do. It did however last for many, many, many years before giving up the ghost. Now obviously if I'm spending many thousands of dollars on a big, heavy tool, warranty does matter.
Clint, you hit a homerun with this one! Thank you mucho.
Thanks Virginia!!!!
I know this is an older video but I just came across it Clint. Thank you so much for this video. I would hate to buy Mike or my dad these tools off of Amazon and then them not being eligible for the warranty. I never knew to look. I appreciate you for doing this channel and providing this information to us. Much love and blessings.
Hi Heather!!! Yeah, especially the Ryobi/Ridgid stuff. Milwaukee sometimes you can get away with it, but I'd rather have the warranty that a $10 price cut 👊
Returning the two power tools I just bought through Amazon. Lucky me I stumbled with this video 😅
amazon lists a Ridgid osilating sander for $399.00, Home depot lists the exact same tool for $199.00,always for the research is my motto
Never woulda thunk that. Well done!
It's a shame but Amazon ain't the only one doing the two step on us....
Thanks!!
I just got lucky and clicked on the Video ... This video gave me the information that I truly need... Hats off to Great Content!
I have bought some Milwaukee power tools that where next to impossible for me to get local. From Amazon. They work fine. And looked new. But I haven't had to try and get warranty service either. TTI ownes Milwaukee and Ridged and Ryobi. So no surprise the all have the same policy.
HomeDepot will ship as well and they are an authorized dealer.
I know . As long as shipping doesn't cost a fortune and they have it in stock.
@@jasonk5979 i haven’t paid for shipping yet and I’ve gotten most of my carpentry tools delivered to my door without a single penny for delivery 📦 idk if they charge for shipping
@@ga264mes
Not arguing with you. I have bought most of my stuff from a local hardware place. Good service and it's locally owned.
There a Milwaukee dealer. The one drill I did have issues with that I bought from them. They took care off.
Wow... that nuance about the warranty is golden info. Thanks
Thanks for helping out Santa's helpers, Clint. Much appreciated.
And thank you for the comment Ben 👊👊👊
Wow... I did not know this.
Thank you so much for this information!! 🙏
If you purchased a Milwaukee from a third party, you may still be eligible for warranty. For the warranty, they only count from the date of manufacturing rather than the receipt purchase date/lost receipt.
Super helpful for not only tool user consumers but good for people trying to buy tools for their loved ones that think they are getting a great tool deal.👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.thank you, thank you, thank you.
Tha ks brother man John! 👊👊👊
You hit the nail on the head with this Video Clint @ToolReviewZone
Thank you for educating us all. I never knew this info. Please keep informing us of all your knowledge.
That's some very good info to know. Warranties are important to me and knowing Amazon is selling tools that might not have the 3 year or whatever warranty I'm used to isn't cool. I always make sure the stuff I buy on Amazon is sold by Amazon and NOT a 3rd party... I don't like dealing with 3rd party sellers personally. Any ways, good to know info and I shared this on Facebook too! =)
This is INCORRECT INFORMATION! I'm a pro seller of liquidation Ryobi, Milwaukee, and Ridgid on Amazon. All 3 of those brands DO provide the OEM warranty from secondhand sellers. The catch is that the product MUST have never been previously registered, and the warranty begins at date of manufacture, NOT date of purchase when bought from a reseller. I've tested this myself, and it works in every situation except with the Ridgid Lifetime service warranty (which you need an original receipt from an authorized dealer and must be registered within 90 days of purchase).
Are you sure. You might be a registered dealer. But that doesn't mean there aren't other dealers selling counterfeit knock offs. I've seen a guy on UA-cam comparing a Milwaukee tool from home Depot. And a look-alike Milwaukee tool from Amazon for a hundred dollars less. Which one do you think he bought. Then he returned the one from home Depot. Well he might regret his decision after the tool he keeps, breaks and can't get a warranty claim.
@@muskiefishing9219 yessir, I am sure, about the stuff I said, anyway. We specialize in liquidation stuff direct from the liquidation division's of the 16 major US retailers, and trained techs verify every item we sell, so we can provide our own warranty and verify the validity of the eligibility of OEM warranty, but I'm sure you're 100% right about the Amazon scam crap and the knockoff sellers. But in my experience, those type of sellers don't survive long on Amazon without clearly advertising their stuff is fake.
The main point I'm trying to make is that aside from the lifetime service warranty offered by Ridgid (sold under license by TTI, owned by Emerson), all the brands this guy is noting can be legitimately registered for the remainder of the OEM warranty no matter where or when or how you got 'em, at least from date of manufacture with a valid serial. Those serials are difficult to fake, but you'll only know you got scammed after ordering. But hey! The good news is that Amazon has an extremely, insanely-forgiving return policy...which is prolly part of why they take 25-75% of the money from every sale we make on their platform. 😜
That’s fine and I’m sure the majority of these are legit products but I’m sure some are not. I clicked on the same half price battery a couple times and a different seller came up every time. I just think they should be labeled as what they are because I’m sure 95% of the people don’t even realize they are basically buying off eBay
Yep! True! That's why I never ever buys any tools in Amazon because of this BS! I always buys my tools at the Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware or Menard's wherever I go! Other alternatives are buy your tools in any local licenced and Authorized retailers in your neighborhood for example DeWalt and Makita it's either I buy them @ the home Depot or any DeWalt and Makita Authorized and Licensed Retailer stores anywhere in the United States. Or IF I want Craftsman, Hitachi/Metabo HPT and Bosch I buy them @ Lowe's or any Licensed Retailers. I never buy tools in Amazon. Except Impact rated bits, drill bits, socket adapters and other stuffs BUT not the Powertools cordless or corded tools.
Wow, I had no idea…thanks SO much for sharing!!!
Appreciate this video, confirmed my suspicions. I messed up and left a battery in our Ryobi electric mower. I was going to own up to my mistake and buy another battery since it was my fault for letting it dry up. My mom mentioned Amazon had them for cheaper after she had looked into getting another battery as well and knowing the "in-house" brands thing I immediately said I wanted to look into it first. Thanks again, I'll be making a trip to HD in the near future and being more responsible as well :P
Awww crap … you mean you won’t honor the warranty on the TRZ hat I bought from - what I now know to be an un-authorized - Amazon seller for my cousin’s, neighbor’s, dentist’s sick grandma? Seriously, great info on the inner workings of an internet behemoth! !! !!!
Hahaha, let me talk to the customer service rep about that hat issue Paul 🤣🤣🤣👊👊 Yeah bro, unfortunately you will see a lot of people being taken again this year with these 3rd party sellers, and amazon of course will still make that money 💰
Good info I was not aware of.
What drives my purchase is strictly cost when considering a purchase, whomever the retailer. (Besides shipping cost)
So far I've been fortunate not to have a tool or battery fail, so it's been a non issue.
Same here, no failures yet. That being said I usually find better prices for Milwaukee at Home Depot online.
Good Info bro. Alot of savings shoppers will make this mistake and loose out. Warranty is super important.
Thanks brother
Thank you. Just saw this in time. I have purchased many tools just out of convenience from Amazon and quick shipping. I had a Dewalt D36000 wet saw I was about to purchase. It was from the Dewalt store but under warranty information it said warranty may or may not be valid depending on who it's purchased from. 🤔 I'll just order from Depot and have it delivered to the house. Amazon was $75 cheaper but a valid warranty is worth more than $75 on a tool this expensive.
Although you are correct on the Milwaukee tools & Amazon not being authorized resellers and not having HD's warranty, the price difference for the most part is not a couple of bucks as you mentioned.
The price difference is almost half. There are several videos from different sources confirming that they're not fake.
Never said they were fake
@@ToolReviewZone I never said you did. I said several videos confirms they're not fake.
Amazon does show the seller if you actually look it's under the add to cart tab.
The info we didn't ask for but needed to hear. Thx again 👊
I bought a Milwaukee gen 3 impact for 80$ back in feb on Amazon. I’m certain it’s a refurb. It fails often, but still better than my Dewalt 887 :(
🤣👊
send it in to milwaukee E-repair anyways. I bought a kit on Amazon like 7 years ago SOLD by Amazon, impact driver failed 1 month past 5 year warranty, did E-repair on it anyways and they ended up repairing under warranty even though warranty expired. It's worth a try dude. But I no longer buy my power tools from Amazon bcus they only push brands I refuse to buy such as DeFault.
Thanks for the heads up , great video 👍
Thanks for this. The one thing I love about Amazon is free shipping. I don’t know why that matters to me. I can wait a week for something to come in the mail. I just hate paying a huge amount for shipping. Sometimes shipping is more than the item. Ship to store is a good option if it’s not in the store, it’s usually free shipping.
⁉️⁉️⁉️
Usually if you buy over $50 HD ships for free.
I got a Milwaukee
"Fastback Knife" $25,
Free Shipping!
Great review bro, i already bought some serious machines from Amazon, 1 of them is the 1 3/4" sds max for great price, and still working perfectly but I guess you are right about warranty stuff
Excellent advice. I'm sure many of us never really thought about this when shopping for tools... no doubt this applies to other items as well.
You should have cautioned viewers to pay attention to the term "refurbished ". Several items I got still had the Home Depot RTV labels on the carton where the item was returned with a defect or fault. HD might have returned it to the manufacturer's service facility, or they simply liquidated the tools by the pallet to others who in turn repacked or removed in brown boxes to be sold on Amazon or eBay. A bargain? No, as several items still had obvious defects or broken parts that were never repaired. HD now has a posted return policy requiring customers to send tools directly to the manufacturer's service facility for repair if they are outside the allowed return period.
This is an eye opener for me.. Thanks a lot...
Btw with flex tools as well from what I've found the ones lowes sells have a unique battery connection from other Flex.
You’re doing a great service to the TRZ community, Clint. I only get my Milwaukee-I-A and R👁obi tools at the Deeps. You’re a beast cuz 👊👊👊
Or direct tools outlet. From what I understand, they honor the warranty if bought from there too. I’m about to find out because I just bought the new ridgid hammer drill off of it
Thanks brother 👊
Excellent video information. I buy supplements from the actual stores on Amazon, etc. And the warranty info. was great. Thanks.
Another thing to look for is shipped by Amazon and sold by Amazon near the price that will tell you its being sold by a authorized retailer on amazon 100 percent of the time if you see Visit Makita Store next to all them Products under price will Show sold by Amazon and Shipped by Amazon hope it helps Clint @ToolReviewZone
Exactly. I was looking at a Dewalt battery. It said “ships from Amazon. Sold by whoever”. I tried to post a review stating that and Amazon rejected it saying I can’t leave a review mentioning a seller. Ships from/sold by Amazon are probably new current items not overstock or some other variation.
@@aciccotelli6951 youtube can be dumb sometimes Over videos that would of been a informative video not sure why it would of been classified as a review
@@AntonioClaudioMichael Not UA-cam … I tried to post on Amazon under a $50 power stack battery. So they know what’s going on. I think some of these sellers buy kits in bulk then break them down and sell the tools and the batteries separate. Some probably sell old batteries they picked up cheap.
I agree @@aciccotelli6951
It's so much better when you just get to the point which basically is the title of the video
Very interesting. Great video! I must say I have bought most my tools (including Milwaukee and dewalt) through eBay and saved a boat load of money. It is pretty crazy.
Wise words...online I only bought dvd and razor and ok....powertools? Only from hardware/auto shops....if failure on the day...ya can go back and get replacement on same day....I wouldn't risk buyin em online...clickin like button!
Thanks for the feedback and click Erik!!!
Thank you!! I did not know about Amazon. I used to buy batteries but NO MORE.. I always buy the tool from Home Depot or similar.
YES YOU ARE RIGHT 200% I ONLY BUY AT THE STORE WENT IT ON SALE.!!!!!!!
Have you ever noticed the questions that people ask on the Zon? I mean all of the specs and even several pictures you can zoom in on, and they still ask just crazy stuff.
Hahaha, it's true though 🤣 😂 😆
Warranty will be based on manufactured date.
just buy the tools from home depot, you get official.
The sellers are buying bulk pack tools that go on sale. They break up the sets and sell them. That simple. No warranty when breaking them up.
I do agree with you
I'm here just like the rest of ya'll. I almost made a $300 mistake on Milwaukee's 15 pc 144-position flex-head ratcheting wrenches. There was something about buying big name tools off of Amazon that didn't set well with me. Very grateful for your video!
Lol 😂they just sell em they don't make em...
Advise that never gets old CLINT, like a fine wine or fresh beer 🍺👀 which your pallette...
Thanks for that when I buy Milwaukee online I use the Home Depote site but loose my military discount
Really? I get mine
@@ianjay4596 I asked her on line about that and she said store only how can I fix this
@ 8:47, it clearly shows the seller, on the right side of page: "Jeff's Garage"... No I spoke directly to "Jeff", he assured me that it's covered, he even said "TRUST ME BRO". So stop your slander, lol. Joking, good video, and you are 100% correct about warranties on Amazon.
ive found most things I want are higher priced on amazon than in retail stores, not all but atleast 50%
This is a major reason why I chose DeWalt. Their distribution is ridiculous.
I only buy Milwaukee from ACE, HD, OPT or Acme.
Thanks a lot for the heads up
Ridgid is now on Amazon, looks like Milwaukee, Ryobi, Flex are still not on Amazon. cheers
Thanks 🙏👍
Thanks for the info!!.....I had not a clue about how Amazon screwed Buyers like this!!.....
Valid point however I had some warranty work done with m18 die grinder I got on Amazon with no issues. Just filled out the online information shipped it back to me no problem. I think if they wanted to they can state that but I think they are more worried about the time its purchased and not where. I did a ebay 2 for the collet issue as well no problems and it was used.
Yeah i think of the serial number was missing and you had to supply reciept you might run into issues
I think its like how some companies will still help you out if you don't register. As long as it don't seem shady or too much trouble, they cut you some slack. Still, its usually a good idea to follow the procedures to mitigate complications.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. GOOD ADVICE. APPRECIATE THAT. HAVE A NICE DAY
Thanks William!!!!
Easy to say but. But the price difference between Home Depot and Amazon is enormous. I can get a M12 gamer drill fuel gen 3 for $85 dollars. I think Home Depot needs to lower their prices considerably
Milwaukee doesn't allow you to register a tool or battery...its determined by the serial number
Thanks dude. Well done.
Never assume amazon is even cheaper the prices are all over the place. I bought one power tool (Rigid) from Amazon before I realized it had no warranty.
Thanks for the info, very helpfull👍
Great information!!!!!! Thanks man
useful to know. thanks for sharing
For international buyers warranty is nvr an issue since no powertool manufacturers offers international warranty unlike Apple
I never usually buy tools through Amazon but thanks for the info brother.
You also don’t get the deals on Amazon like buy one get one free or free battery with a bare tool deal and some tools cost more on Amazon 😎✌🏼✌🏼
Great info to the community.
When I buy Tools from Amazon ,I always get an option to extend the manufactures warranty ,also if I feel the tool is defective , I call A and get a return tag , No questions asked .Can I say that about the MOM & POP Hardware stores ,Sadly no. I quit buying local 15 yrs ago and will never buy local due to poor warranty/return policy's . Amazon , Lowes or HD is where 99% of my tool $ is tossed .
good info -don't buy Milwaukee or Rigid on Amazon=no warranty.
Great info. Thank you.
If you buy on Amazon it can mess the warranty on the batteries etc I’ve avoided buying certain tools on Amazon because Of that
Cool Info Clint 👌
It could also be someone buying stuff up with these holiday promos and then selling marginally less than normal retail. Could be legit tool and brand new, but as you said, the warranty wouldn’t be valid.
Clint, my man, thanks for watching out for us.
And thanks for the support brother 🙏 👊
@@ToolReviewZone You're welcome, it's my pleasure to support your efforts.
Thank you 👍
Nice…thanks.
Haven't had a problem with warranty with Milwaukee. I run it through my local dealer that fixes Milwaukee. They are authorized. The tool has a serial number and that's what it's based on. This guy might be blowing some smoke. I could buy a 4 1/2 year old broken tool as long as the serial number is there and get it fixed no problem. Serial numbers have a date code in them
Great info, Thanks!
Thanks Jones 👊
Thanks 👍
Thank you for the info 🤘
Good info, thanks
if you plan to buy at amazon then don't expect warranty and make sure to buy the cheapest one. if you do wan't warranty then buy it somewhere else.
Great information but also keep up the humorous presentations.
Thanks Richard 👊👊👊
As you mentioned, Dewalt tools sold on Amazon refer you to the Dewalt Store - ok, it then sends you back to Amazon for purchase and shows tool is sold by and shipped by Law Vegas Surplus. How does that happen?
Good info, thank you! Are you a fellow Pittsburgher? Sounds like you are 😀
Haha, definitely a yinger Lizzy!!!! Go STILLERS!
Clint, u are da best🥇

That's awesome. Thanks Theodore!!!!
I saw some Ryobi tools at Amazon were much expensive than at home depot. So it’s not worth it buying them at Amazon.
Dude, the last Milwaukee battery you showed was a Prime product. It said so in the Buy Now area. The other battery adapter you showed was not by Milwaukee, it was an adapter for Milwaukee for that manufacturer's batteries. Fear baiting.
