For those who don't understand : - The tank was made by a company named GIAT (now named NEXTER) and never, at any point, by AMX - *NO ONE* in France call that tank an AMX-56 (again, no link with AMX at all). We simply call it "Leclerc" - The wrong name probably comes from journalists that knew the tank was around 56 t and assumed it's name would be AMX-56 just like almost every earlier tank. But they where wrong and now everyone outside of french speaking countries make that mistake ! - Don't *EVER* call a Leclerc an "AMX-56" in front of a passionate french, this will be your last words ;-)
Please more vehicles for France. There’s the Panhard EBR, more variants of Leclerc, AMX ELC, AMX Even variants, and much more that could be added to give France better lineups and more diverse gameplay.
Yeah, France high tiers are pretty poop, in my opinion due to poor choices of vehicles to introduce. Instead of the completely obsolete AMX-13 HOT, they could have added the AMX-10P/HOT. The EBRs and even Vextra TML should also already be in the tree, along with a stabilised AMX-30 thats not premium.

Bruh they already fixed the amx 30 shell... I play it. Every time you hit ammos: BOOM, crew and modules get destroyed ez with that shell and it is very good at range since it is not kinetic. Most times you destroy enemies on the 2nd 3rd round. It takes a bit to get used to its shell but then it is very good

Is there any chance the French could receive a second leclerc to better fill out their top tier lineup? I’ve recently taken a real interest in the leclerc and I’m grinding the French tech tree to get to it. I’m still at the bottom having a last with the B1 bis and B1 ter.
When can we expect a new Leclerc in the game...it will really help the top tier French lineups.... pretty please 😅 and it would really help if you added more vehicles like the Panhard EBR, AMX ELC, AMX-30C2, AMX-30(B) SAMM, the upgraded AMX10RC (with new armor packages), and it's IFV model and the imported M48s or any vehicle which would Improve the French Tech Tree P.S : please add the gyroscopic Stabilzers to the early MBTs like they had in real life.

A lovely video for the French mbt tree. well done and very informative ! I gotta say, I'm currently doing the research on the leclerc and it is a real struggle, the stock heat against tanks like the t72b3 that can just deny it completely. It makes it very painful. I won't even mention repairs costs. It's just sad to me cause i like this game a lot and i would love to see it grow. I just hope you guys find a way to make it enjoyable for everyone. That you make other nations interesting to play and get rids of metas. Anyway, whatever you do i'll wish you good luck and i will eagerly wait for the next video !
every amx with a cupola can be sniped everywhere at its br the bigger promblem is in wt every other nation has a Backup for its high tier model Arieta/Abrams/leo2a5 eg eg. but as france u got the good leclerc (good pen 575mm also armor is competitiv) but if u get destroyer u can go with your 9.7 amx 40 and its a glas cannon thats more sad about it no 10.0 or 10.3 tank with some composite. Goodside Leclerc can pretty harm this russian overflood since new patch but just once
@@Commander_35 Either wiggle the turret, use terrain features, or use the gun and angle the barrel in front of the cupola so it can act as some sort of spaced armor to avoid getting penned though that weakspot. Yea im a WoT blitz player as well
The lack of stabilizers in the AMX 30 series is what has gotten me killed more times than I can count. (Historically it technically had a “stabilizer”, but it’s obviously not in the game.)
The Leclerc was never called AMX-56. What a historicly accurate show you have there, making the same mistake twice after everyone told you that you have mad one.
First désigned leclerc where made by amx and where called AMX Leclerc then GIAT absorbed them and keep the work on the leclerc and removed the amx in the name
still see more 122s than leclercs. It's also mainly because not many people bother grinding the french tanks, for any non-prem player, rank 1 is too painful, and rank 4-5 is too expensive. There are also way less swedish tanks, and they remain good throughout the entire tech tree, which is something no other country can compare.

Why we don't have ATGM vehicles for France when they were the first to use widely even the german got their prototype of the French S.11 launcher but the French don't when they had invented them and had vehicles with them or even give low tier ENTAC ATGM launcher
Gaijin, ever since I started War Thunder 2 years ago. I b-lined it straight to the French because I thought they were neat. In my time, it was decent, but plagued by problems when facing against other players. Mostly the German and Russian vehicles. Even with the additions, it still comes up short due to Germany, Russia, and American high tiers getting vehicles that surpass the French vehicles. I can't compete in your game anymore. Your maps are horribly designed, they are too small for high tier and your tech trees are horribly dated with faults that cause balance to go out the window. You need to change it. Please for the love of all that is holy, I pray to the Snail God to pick up the pace on addressing the issues of your game.

The game started to go down hill when helicopters were added and then again when half the top tier tanks got thermals. The game was really different last september.
Hope to see the first AMX-32. Armed with 105mm gun. And less armor. And a few more AMX-30's. Like AMX-30C2 and AMX-30(B) SAMM. And any other useful AMX-30/export variant.
Just add the leclerc S2, fix it's breach armor, add leclerc T-40 so france has something comparable to the bmp's, add the guépard leclerc, maye the T' but that would insta brake the meta, and maybe idk reduce repair cost to 15k ATLEAST! Please gaijin, France is suffering and has the potential to be one of the best! Also EBRC, VAB and Vextra 105 or even 120 would be nice
It never ceases to amaze me that the French military was employing MBTs with undstabilized gun into the 1990s. It’s such a must on the modern battlefield, it would be like making a gun without a trigger.
AMX-30s 1972 and onward had vertical "One Plane" Stabilizers, something alluded to here wherein Gaijin admits the AMX-30 Super specifically is the first "Two Plane" Stabilizer. In 1968 the French tested out stabilizers on their AMX-30s with AMX-30B SAMM and for either technical reasons of turret limitations or strategic reasons, the one plane stabilizer (just vertical) was what was needed rather than the two plane.
i'm grinding for the mirage and the amx 40 can't wait to get them. i think the French tech tree is my favorite be because they have a solid tech tree and each tank is extremely unique unlike the us and Ussr tree.

Will the Canadian Avro Arrow (or any of the CF planes) ever be added to the game, maybe into the British tech tree? I think in general it would be cool to see one or two Canadian planes in the game.
Fr idk if it matches the timeframe of the game but I want to see the FC 15 or whatever. but to be honest most Canadian tanks and airplanes are just modded American or British tanks and planes the only real tank that we built was the ram and I’m pretty sure they already have that added
I think we are severals to want more wheeled tanks, the french have A LOT of them but in game they are just 3 of them when IRL we have so much more. It would be nice to have many of them around the same BR so we could have a line up with many of them to use more of this type of vehicule
I found top tier france to be amazing(rank 5 and up). Amx30B2 and brenus were a breeze to go through. You can literally get the APFSDS round within 10games or maybe even less! Yes you're at a disadvantage without a stabilizer but I find that more fun. It's actually predictable in terms of the gun bouncing. 7/10 of my shots were hits while moving. I played the brenus before they fixed the ERA(it only protected about 200-300mm against heat) and it was pretty good back then. It's still good and even better against the helicopters! The thermals is what gives this vehicle a real edge against other people. Spotting tanks in bushes from afar is what really makes this tank shine (both B2 and Brenus varient. The Leclerc is among my favorite MBT out of all the nations. I've played America, Germany, Sweden, and France. I'm working on Russia so I don't really have an opinion on that. Anyway the auto loader and the powerful APFSDS is the saving grace of this vehicle. The armor is good and you typically don't die in one shot since the crew is so far apart. The Gen2 thermal gunner and commander site is a great plus too. My win rate for france top tier(rank 5 and up) is above 60% and with some vehicles it's at 70%! They all have a pretty good K/D ratio(about 2.0 or higher. Sorta average if you ask me) My only gripe with france is the high repair costs for certain fun vehicles. Blame good players for the great stats. Anywho here's my nation rank list: 1:France(fun at top tier) 2:Japan(fun at top tier with the 5s reload) 3:Sweden(Expensive :c) 4:Germany(It's eh/boring at top tier) 5:America(it's eh/boring at top tier) 6: Russia (still grinding out so idk) 7:Italy(haven't really touched but will soon 8:China(Will never touch this)
after playing nothing but french tanks on the account i made in 2018 , the lack of APHE shells doesnt bother me the slightest because solid shot is all ive ever known for all these years

Please create a line up where 9.7 and some 10.0 aircraft can clash in peace so to not get abused by Mach 2 jets but not be able to abuse 9.0 subsonics. (Planes like the lighting, Hunter F.6, F-104 and F-100 variants, maybe the Jaguars and the T-2, definitely the MiG-19 variants and the MiG-21F-13, because you know, it’s trash, and don’t forget the J32B, G.91YS and the Su-7Bs!) oops, forgot to mention the Po-2, also, decompress BR!
funny to make a video about the absolute worst lineup at top tier. By the way, the fire control system on the AMX-30 B2 is the same as the fire control system used in the AMX-32 : basically the sight of the gunner is stabilized, but not the gun, and when a "fire" input has been detected, the gun shoots automatically when the gun goes over the sight of the gunner. That was a rather slow but effective stabilizer and worked great even in the 1990s with the last AMX-30B2s in service in France. The only advantage of a 2 plane Stab over this system is the ease of use really. Where's the catch tho? Well you've modeled the AMX 32 fire control system as a 2 plane stabilizer, while the AMX 30 has litterally nothing... not even the stabilized sight. So you have three options here : the first (that would be the worst and really, don't do that unless you want to loose all the players from that nation) is to strip down the AMX 32 from its satbilizer and effectively give it the same FCS as the AMX 30. the second would be to model the french stabilized sight and give it to both the AMX 30 and 32. the third option would be to give both of the AMX 30 B2 a two plane stabilizer, and make them actually good vehicles to play, cause right now everything that has a stabilizer surpasses it, even if the BR is lower. (and if you use the "but it is not historical!" argument, I shall remember you that this is a game, not an historical simulation (this is the same argument you used for the BR system actually) and that absolute historical accuracy is not what you thrive for, effectively nerfing the Leclerc's automatic loading system from 5sec to 6, because "it would be too overpowered". It has efectively 5sec reload time in real life, and had that reload since the S1 series) (If you want to know more about the fire control system of the AMX 32, well know that it was developped prior to the developpement of the AMX 30B2, that effectively used the improvements made by the failed AMX 32. If anyone is interested, the sight is the M581, working alongside the COTAC APX M581 and the numerical calculator APX M241. COTAC is for COnduite de Tir Automatique pour Char which in english means "Automated firing sight for armored vehicle") Also *FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE :* The "AMX 56" designation is *NOT REAL* . The Ateliers De Contruction d'Issy-Les-Moulineaux has been bought by GIAT (that later became Nexter) long before the Leclerc project was even started, so there is NO WAY the "AMX" designation would have made any appearance. Furthermore, the number next to the AMX tag usually was the goal for the total weight of the vehicle (at least it was this way for the AMX 13, AMX 50 and AMX 30), and the Char Leclerc DID NOT WEIGHT 56 TONS (actually closer to 54), and it was not its weight goal. Also its price is not 10 million per Unit, but closer to 8 Million (which still makes this tank the most expensive ever)
War Thunder, I have to complain. I'm having fun in 5.3 br of French ground forces but I can't go any because of the ridiculously high repair costs. I know how you handle those repair costs but still they are way to high. I really like the French tech tree ground and air, I was considering of buying the amx 30 super, not for the grind, but because I like it. Unfortunately I'm just waiting for you to lower the repair costs in order to be less frustrating to play.
I play arcade @ br 7.7 (amx 30 (1972)) and I don't get such problems. I When I win I usually get +23000 SL and when losing (and dieing) -4000. Idk if arcade has lower repair costs or what... Some daily rewards are in SL and some are +1 M SL so you could also wait that...

Fun Fact: the AMX-40 was a model built from scratch with very few in common with the AMX-30 and the AMX-32, apart from the 120mm cannon in the latter prototype of the 32. Fun Fact II: there is no such thing as the AMX-56. Come on Gaijin give us more baguette ;)
What still baffles me is that for a nation that historically has always put much stock in the daring offense the French needed seemingly forever to accept that, yes, stabilizers are a good idea.
The generals ? yes. the industry ? no. First two plane stabilized AMX 30 was the SAMM prototype back in 1968 (and not the second half of the 80's AMX 30 super). Generals knew they needed a newer tank with stabilizer but they always wanted the most modern tech in it so they always delayed the acquisition of a new tank for years (*cough* decades *cough*). This and they had to develop ballisitic nuclear missiles which was a hefty part of their budget.
So.. When are you going to give us separate controls for tank ATGMs that use Keyboard? The current settings use the tank throttle controls as ATGM controls as well. Which is very counter intuitive.
France is the first nation on ground forces I actually had fun playing. I don't care for the aesthetics of their other armored vehicles besides The AMX 30's, AMX-10 RC and Leclerc...which I'm almost done grinding to. Shame the ERC 90 isn't here or the AMX-10P. We have R3, BMP's and Bradleys but no 10P?????
hey, probalby not the right place to write that. but i think the german techtree in the mid - mid/high tier sector is lacking of good light- and fast tank support (besides the german Bulldog, BMP1 and Jgpz-4-5) and i think the german Wiesel1, Wiesel Tow, Wiesel Stinger, Marder1 (with MILAN or MELLS Rockets) and the Sdkfz. 301-Borgward 4 (as a Tankdestroyer with Six mounted Panzerschreck`s(yes that thing was realy build, around 50 of them existed)) would fit very nicely in the German Techtree. quiet similar tanks are already in different techtrees.

I gotta say, I'm currently doing the research on the leclerc and it is a real struggle, the stock heat against tanks like the t72b3 that can just deny it completely. It makes it very painful. I won't even mention repairs costs. It's just sad to me cause i like this game a lot and i would love to see it grow. I just hope you guys find a way to make it enjoyable for everyone. That you make other nations interesting to play and get rids of metas. Anyway, whatever you do i'll wish you good luck and i will eagerly wait for the next video !

@@Commander_35 Either wiggle the turret, use terrain features, or use the gun and angle the barrel in front of the cupola so it can act as some sort of spaced armor to avoid getting penned though that weakspot. Yea im a WoT blitz player as well
The lack of stabilizers in the AMX 30 series is what has gotten me killed more times than I can count. (Historically it technically had a “stabilizer”, but it’s obviously not in the game.)

still see more 122s than leclercs. It's also mainly because not many people bother grinding the french tanks, for any non-prem player, rank 1 is too painful, and rank 4-5 is too expensive. There are also way less swedish tanks, and they remain good throughout the entire tech tree, which is something no other country can compare.

Gaijin, ever since I started War Thunder 2 years ago. I b-lined it straight to the French because I thought they were neat. In my time, it was decent, but plagued by problems when facing against other players. Mostly the German and Russian vehicles. Even with the additions, it still comes up short due to Germany, Russia, and American high tiers getting vehicles that surpass the French vehicles. I can't compete in your game anymore. Your maps are horribly designed, they are too small for high tier and your tech trees are horribly dated with faults that cause balance to go out the window.
You need to change it. Please for the love of all that is holy, I pray to the Snail God to pick up the pace on addressing the issues of your game.

It never ceases to amaze me that the French military was employing MBTs with undstabilized gun into the 1990s.
It’s such a must on the modern battlefield, it would be like making a gun without a trigger.
AMX-30s 1972 and onward had vertical "One Plane" Stabilizers, something alluded to here wherein Gaijin admits the AMX-30 Super specifically is the first "Two Plane" Stabilizer. In 1968 the French tested out stabilizers on their AMX-30s with AMX-30B SAMM and for either technical reasons of turret limitations or strategic reasons, the one plane stabilizer (just vertical) was what was needed rather than the two plane.

Fr idk if it matches the timeframe of the game but I want to see the FC 15 or whatever. but to be honest most Canadian tanks and airplanes are just modded American or British tanks and planes the only real tank that we built was the ram and I’m pretty sure they already have that added

I think we are severals to want more wheeled tanks, the french have A LOT of them but in game they are just 3 of them when IRL we have so much more.
It would be nice to have many of them around the same BR so we could have a line up with many of them to use more of this type of vehicule
I found top tier france to be amazing(rank 5 and up). Amx30B2 and brenus were a breeze to go through. You can literally get the APFSDS round within 10games or maybe even less! Yes you're at a disadvantage without a stabilizer but I find that more fun. It's actually predictable in terms of the gun bouncing. 7/10 of my shots were hits while moving. I played the brenus before they fixed the ERA(it only protected about 200-300mm against heat) and it was pretty good back then. It's still good and even better against the helicopters! The thermals is what gives this vehicle a real edge against other people. Spotting tanks in bushes from afar is what really makes this tank shine (both B2 and Brenus varient.
The Leclerc is among my favorite MBT out of all the nations. I've played America, Germany, Sweden, and France. I'm working on Russia so I don't really have an opinion on that. Anyway the auto loader and the powerful APFSDS is the saving grace of this vehicle. The armor is good and you typically don't die in one shot since the crew is so far apart. The Gen2 thermal gunner and commander site is a great plus too.
My win rate for france top tier(rank 5 and up) is above 60% and with some vehicles it's at 70%! They all have a pretty good K/D ratio(about 2.0 or higher. Sorta average if you ask me)
My only gripe with france is the high repair costs for certain fun vehicles. Blame good players for the great stats.

funny to make a video about the absolute worst lineup at top tier.
By the way, the fire control system on the AMX-30 B2 is the same as the fire control system used in the AMX-32 : basically the sight of the gunner is stabilized, but not the gun, and when a "fire" input has been detected, the gun shoots automatically when the gun goes over the sight of the gunner. That was a rather slow but effective stabilizer and worked great even in the 1990s with the last AMX-30B2s in service in France. The only advantage of a 2 plane Stab over this system is the ease of use really. Where's the catch tho? Well you've modeled the AMX 32 fire control system as a 2 plane stabilizer, while the AMX 30 has litterally nothing... not even the stabilized sight.
So you have three options here : the first (that would be the worst and really, don't do that unless you want to loose all the players from that nation) is to strip down the AMX 32 from its satbilizer and effectively give it the same FCS as the AMX 30. the second would be to model the french stabilized sight and give it to both the AMX 30 and 32. the third option would be to give both of the AMX 30 B2 a two plane stabilizer, and make them actually good vehicles to play, cause right now everything that has a stabilizer surpasses it, even if the BR is lower.
(and if you use the "but it is not historical!" argument, I shall remember you that this is a game, not an historical simulation (this is the same argument you used for the BR system actually) and that absolute historical accuracy is not what you thrive for, effectively nerfing the Leclerc's automatic loading system from 5sec to 6, because "it would be too overpowered". It has efectively 5sec reload time in real life, and had that reload since the S1 series)
(If you want to know more about the fire control system of the AMX 32, well know that it was developped prior to the developpement of the AMX 30B2, that effectively used the improvements made by the failed AMX 32. If anyone is interested, the sight is the M581, working alongside the COTAC APX M581 and the numerical calculator APX M241. COTAC is for COnduite de Tir Automatique pour Char which in english means "Automated firing sight for armored vehicle")

The "AMX 56" designation is *NOT REAL* . The Ateliers De Contruction d'Issy-Les-Moulineaux has been bought by GIAT (that later became Nexter) long before the Leclerc project was even started, so there is NO WAY the "AMX" designation would have made any appearance. Furthermore, the number next to the AMX tag usually was the goal for the total weight of the vehicle (at least it was this way for the AMX 13, AMX 50 and AMX 30), and the Char Leclerc DID NOT WEIGHT 56 TONS (actually closer to 54), and it was not its weight goal.
Also its price is not 10 million per Unit, but closer to 8 Million (which still makes this tank the most expensive ever)

War Thunder, I have to complain. I'm having fun in 5.3 br of French ground forces but I can't go any because of the ridiculously high repair costs. I know how you handle those repair costs but still they are way to high. I really like the French tech tree ground and air, I was considering of buying the amx 30 super, not for the grind, but because I like it. Unfortunately I'm just waiting for you to lower the repair costs in order to be less frustrating to play.
Well, i m grinding the tree with jumbo and arl, ocassionaly im playing amx 13 but yeah, repair costs at tier 4 are ridiculus
I play arcade @ br 7.7 (amx 30 (1972)) and I don't get such problems. I When I win I usually get +23000 SL and when losing (and dieing) -4000. Idk if arcade has lower repair costs or what... Some daily rewards are in SL and some are +1 M SL so you could also wait that...

What still baffles me is that for a nation that historically has always put much stock in the daring offense the French needed seemingly forever to accept that, yes, stabilizers are a good idea.
The generals ? yes. the industry ? no. First two plane stabilized AMX 30 was the SAMM prototype back in 1968 (and not the second half of the 80's AMX 30 super). Generals knew they needed a newer tank with stabilizer but they always wanted the most modern tech in it so they always delayed the acquisition of a new tank for years (*cough* decades *cough*). This and they had to develop ballisitic nuclear missiles which was a hefty part of their budget.
The start of the French line is a struggle (like most) but later it gets better.

hey, probalby not the right place to write that. but i think the german techtree in the mid - mid/high tier sector is lacking of good light- and fast tank support (besides the german Bulldog, BMP1 and Jgpz-4-5) and i think the german Wiesel1, Wiesel Tow, Wiesel Stinger, Marder1 (with MILAN or MELLS Rockets) and the Sdkfz. 301-Borgward 4 (as a Tankdestroyer with Six mounted Panzerschreck`s(yes that thing was realy build, around 50 of them existed)) would fit very nicely in the German Techtree. quiet similar tanks are already in different techtrees.
