9:00 The betta you bought is suffering from fin rot. He is going through some serious shit. Please do not over feed him and remove the uneaten food. And please make sure that the tank is cycled. And also don't forget to google about fin rot and its treatment.
James Dawson Bettas should be in heated water and the little cup isn’t nearly big enough. Also I doubt the water is changed enough. All of this stresses the fish out and is probably why he has fin rot
Bettas are fragile fishes. And this fish has already damaged fins. Put real plants in ur tank, install a heater, do the 4 weeks of the nitrogen cycle and remove the fake plant which is dangerous. Add good bacteria. Betta is a living being not a decoration. For the medical treatment of fish, make another small tray with a fin rot medicine, with water at 82 degrees. Find out more, read books on aquariophilia, look at specialized websites !!! Don't forget to clean the filter every month with the water of the tanl, make a 10% water change every week or every two weeks with water that has rested for 24 hours to remove heavy metals from the tap water and that the water is at the right temperature to avoid temperature shock ! Avoid overfeeding your fish to avoid pollution, nitrites in the tank, diseases and therefore the death of your fish !
Thank you for this comment, I got my betta fish because he has fin rot and I want to help him. I read online that all you have to do is put them in a good size tank and that's it. Now I know though.

That's what I was thinking to 🙌 I bought a betta that had been missing half his tail fin I learned to isolate him and do lots of water changes and over 6 weeks didn't know about how to treat him but he is almost fully healed I moved him to a 2 gallon aquarium and waiting for a heater for my 8.5 gallon tank to transfer to the bigger aquarium
1.) 10 gallons is the preferred number of gallons by most serious beta owners (I can understand this though.) 2.) He NEEDS a lid. There's a possibility he will jump out of the tank when you aren't around. 3.) The water seemed cloudy. There couldve been excessive amounts of calcium in your substrate. You may need a better substrate 4.) You're not supposed to pour the water they come in, into the tank. (Good job for acclimating at least) but the water they come in has so much ammonia build up in it, that once it hits air it can become toxic for your fish. 5.) You're supposed to let the water in your tank sit for a day or 2 6.) You probably havnt boiled your substrate. It helps to get rid of bacteria and excess calcium I hope this helps

True. They said Natural Waves?! Like, BRUH. This is a fish channel and bettas are one of the most common fish in my opinion. They should know that the fish has fin rot.
Betta’s really need a 7-10 gallon to be happy and healthy. They need a sponge filter and a temperature of 79-81, so a adjustable heater is really important. To help keep the water clear of Ammonia and Nitrates getting live plants is very helpful for him. You can’t put them together or they will kill each other. Make sure you get a water test kit. They will change colors drastically after you get them home. Water changes for a 5 gallon tank without plants will need 40% water changes every week with de-chlorinator. Also you never add store water to a home tank. Also, Betta’s are jumpers so you need a lid. It helps to understand the Nitrogen cycle. Remember Betta’s are one of the most abused fish in the fish hobby next to Goldfish. Betta’s live between three to four years in good conditions. They have personalities unmatched in the hobby. I recommend: Simply Betta, Rachel O’Leary, Solid Gold, Aquarium Co-Op, and The King of DIY vloggers to help with understanding fish keeping. I only want to help. Have a great day.

I hope you rethought the no lid bc he might jump out. They are known to jump especially in the wild they do jump to get from puddle to puddle to find the best water source. I’m just looking out for ya and so you don’t go thru losing a fish
I know im a little late but make sure your fish's filter isn't to strong because Bette's like a slower current I learned from experience so if I were you I would make sure of that
You can't put more than one betta fish in a cage with access for them to touch each other because they'll kill each other but there special cages where you can have to because there's a separator
I have never put a lid on my beta fish and I have 6 of them. I have had some of them for almost a year. None have jumped out and died so it just depends on the beta
Bettas won't show off their true colors in a pet store. It's way too much stress. These fish haven't ever seen a day below 80 degrees, they do not have their brackish, black water to live in either. A few of those Bettas she picked up are not in hot shape. Like the Paradise male she like the most. His tail was so horrible ripped up. Almost all of them had ammonia burns.
Yes ppl say that you shouldn't let them see each other and stuff. Actually mine can see each other all the time. They hardly flare at each other now. But it does make for longer fins and heathier betta fish.

that is a very beautiful Paradise male betta i hope that you treat it well the tank set up is great don't forget to feed it small amounts as it seems to have fin rot now fin rot is very harmful to the bettas fins as it eats away the fin till death so keep an eye if it gets worse go to the store you got him from and let the people know as they should have something for fin rot
They do sell those fish in this little pots in the us ?!? This country is so sick
What country are you in?
You’re lucky to be in an area with a LFS like this, the largest in where I live only has dull red veil tails and occasionally a sick koi betta
0:52 is that a female glow betta ? 👀🤔
Sir how much price in little red tail goldn arawona fish
Early yay 😁 Love your vids.
Love the New Betta!
Bro do you not cycle ANY of your tanks?!
the double tail half moon was precious the blue one
Sir what's the good one filter 4 feet 18 tall 18 trench tank to
I hope you rethought the no lid bc he might jump out.
Love your videos bro keep up the good work
OMG KEEP YOUR LID ON!!! THE FISH WILL JUMP OUT AND DIE!!! KEEP THE LID ON!!
I have never put a lid on my beta fish and I have 6 of them. I have had some of them for almost a year. None have jumped out and died so it just depends on the beta
Bettas don't have the power to jump out of the water.
Paradise
I got a clear twin tail male betta thats so clear its hard so see his fins in water and u and see his little spine
The betta cups are not cruel. The males fight. They are cleaned daily, some fish are more stressed than others. Some develop fin rot. Can be treated
Poor fish the one you were looking at has fin rot
I have about 4 that im giving away. I tried on craigslist but no one contacted me. What should i do
Bettas won't show off their true colors in a pet store.
How do you know? I am looking into buy a betta, but I don’t know. I just bought a 3.5 gallon tanks, the food, the cleaner, etc. I just don’t know how to choose a healthy one
The only way to get a betta that has minimal damge is to go pick one when they get their shipments in. That's when I buy betta's that I don't want to have to medicate. I have saved over 37 betta fish. I have re-home alot of betta fish.
Thank you for buying your fish a 3.5 gallon. They really hate small tanks. They like shallow water.
Umm do you know you cant put them together or they fight
The betta you got might be suffering from fin rot .perhaps just looking it up and seeing how to help him
Its so funny when she took all the bettas 😅😅😅😅
You could have got a nice one without fin rot. But either way at least you saved the one with fin rot. His fins should regrow after a few weeks if the water is clean.
I picked up the bumblebee beta today and I may end up some tetras fish as mates
Heyyy what happen to the other bettas?
Why where they brought in cups?
flutt3rby3 _ they cant be with other fish and they made in a lab
@@hxneycloves1881 Wtf?!?! Made in a lab?!?!? How?!?! Damn America is crazy.
@@hxneycloves1881 I have a betta so I know they can't be with other fish but it still doesn't make sense to me
flutt3rby3 _ the pet Betta fish is made in a lab but the fighting ones ain’t
@@hxneycloves1881 ??? A pet betta is a simese fighting fish/ betta splendens. I think you have your facts muddled up.
What up joey salami!
