Don’t worry the producers tell the people to act dumb so that the show is more interesting. If you ask any random person, they’ll probably tell you a book.
I read, not above the average but at least a book every 2 months. When I was being interviewed to enter the university to study Anthropology, they asked me this and i answered like the first girl just without the "i don't read books" part. I froze out of being nervous.
I had the same kind of experience some time ago, when I went to see the city christmas tree with my kid, and suddenly there was a TV camera and a reporter asking me:"So what does the first advent of christmas mean to YOU?" We just got there and we hadn't even seen the tree properly yet. I'm not religious and I didn't know what to say about the first advent, so I improvised and said:"It means peace and a time being with my family. A peaceful time." Since I was at peace and with my family. It turned out to be the right answer for the TV crew as we were shown in the evening news. And it was also straight from the heart.
You sure it’s not just they have a blank mind. “I don’t read books” should be pretty embarrassing for someone to flat out admit. It’s like saying “hi I’m a dumbass, and I’m fine with that”
I can. I work 12 hour shifts. On my off time, between taking care of my relatives, to taking care of personal matters, exercise, chores, etc, I do not have time to read. Or rather, I prefer not to read in the little off time that I have. I go outside, I exercise, or I nap. The last books I genuinely read were for my nursing career.
I'm looking for a website, an app or something where I can talk to people about books and know their opinions about it and also their recommendations (btw I havent read alot of books)
The definition of 'put someone on the spot' (according to Google): force someone into a situation in which they must make a difficult decision or answer a difficult question. Difficult question? Hardly.
When you’re asked to recall something, you go to household names or the most common name you can think of. If you ask me to name a fruit, I’d probably say apple even tho I never eat them
The thing is, I can name dozens of books from the top of my head while I'm sitting at home, but when a reporter comes up to me and asks me, I'm not sure if I could name any. It's the same with language; my mother tongue is German, but if anyone came up to me and asked me to say something in German I'd probably forget the entire language for a minute.
I was surprised they didn't get 40,000 women saying 50 Shades of Grey. Geeks saying The Hobbit (one book and three films). And at least one saying The Bible, the Quran, The Iliad, anything.

@@markissleepy go to any college or advanced highschool class and they'll give you a direct code to the ones in the library to make sure you don't borrow or purchase the play version because it's different than the book version lol. @@markissleepy I've worked in both a school and public library, and can confirm this is true. While the plotline of both is identical, there are some key differences to the play vs the novel version of Romeo and Juliet. The play Version is meant to be acted out, so it gives more detail on what exactly is supposed to physically happen and how. Most people *do* only know the book version, but don't even realize that they know that version because it's not common knowledge that there is a seperate version for plays. Often times it's only those who perform in a high quality theater (so often professional, but at times highschools with a more funded program, such as Stadium High School in Washington State, where I worked) who are aware of and have access to the play version. It's almost impossible to come by unless you're working directly through a performance agency or extend, so there is likely little to no mention of it online.

Fun Fact - your mind goes blank when some random guy or someone else ask you a question even though you know the answer
Finally an actual fun fact that isn’t some nonsense

@@LexitaMai Wait... what? I have never seen a prose book version of Romeo and Juliet - only the play. I just searched on Amazon and the top 50 results (I stopped looking after that) were all either the play or books analyzing the play and when I google "Romeo and Juliet Book" everything that comes up is related to the play. @@markissleepy go to any college or advanced highschool class and they'll give you a direct code to the ones in the library to make sure you don't borrow or purchase the play version because it's different than the book version lol. The play version has far more stage direction and cues than the book version and often is bound differently.

Not actors, but only a small picking of the hundreds that did name a book.
