This favoritism over female recruits, and the presentation of awards to them under the reduced conditions, over men who have excelled but just not enough to reduced conditions, is what is driving down the training experience these days. Politics and chics have fuked the Australian army!
When I was ARes in the 80's I WANTED the ARes to be issued DPCU and combat gear only. I figured that way we would have some chance of been issued with a complete identical kit on enlistment. On their first parade they were a motley crew with barely two out of 40 dressed the same; some without boot (neither boots AB or GP's) and some without slouch hats - and that was after a month's notice of requirements - all sizes supplied.
I enjoy my time At Kapooka. At least you knew what you were doing every day. It’s when you finish your IET’s that no one has a clue what’s going on. In saying that, I was there in ‘87, so maybe things have changed.
i spent 15 . 5 weeks at kapooka doing basic training (90/91) . back then training went for 13 weeks and i think still does . if you're thinking of joining , get fit and sharpen your boxing skills . trust me , at times it comes in handy.
Oh okay, and yeah right now I'm doing daily runs of 10km, every second day I go and do a long pack march, and I go to the gym every weekend, but I didn't know the boxing would help me but I'll sure give it a go, and how long do you think it takes to get the letter of offer nowadays?
I'm still waiting on mine at the moment, it takes a while. I'm predicting 1-2 more months but it really depends when a role gets opened up and stuff. Not too sure exactly but it takes a long time.
@@TheMichael5833 Trust me mate I’m in the army cadets and they are as sloppy as some kids in my unit. Most of us are squared away with the occasional mistake I was bloody frightened at how many times they we’re out of step and the square gating was horrendous I got aids from looking at it
