Just to be fair...what is shown in this video is a "Reservist Marchout". The ADF March out is done in dress Poly Uniform and weapons with a dress band. Personally...I think it sucks...every one of these reservists has a Poly Uniform and a weapon brought to barracks. I dont understand why they seek Reservists when they treat them as second rate....if they dont perform on the square to your expectation, then maybe you should look at their treatment. Its very poor.
I enjoy my time At Kapooka. At least you knew what you were doing every day. It’s when you finish your IET’s that no one has a clue what’s going on. In saying that, I was there in ‘87, so maybe things have changed.
It doesn’t make sense! You join the ADF because you want to. Have to leave or get discharged. When you don’t want to! Get dumped by the military and the government. Then have to prove that you were in the ADF! To a bunch of wankers at DVA. Who have never served and some haven’t learned to speak English. The medical information is not there! Because it wasn’t put down in the first place. Omitted from your medical file! The people who are supposed to help while you are still in. Don’t! Basically you are dumped! No responsibility is taken by any government department! They hope you will stop bothering them and crawl away and commit suicide! If it was a civilian employer they would get sued! THATS WHY WE NEED A ROYAL COMMISSION!
That's a bit lame, we had to wear battle dress, spit polished boots that took ages to get a mirror finish, spent weeks polishing the brass on the belt buckles so that it was like chrome, all in our spare time, looks like all they had to do was practice on the parade ground.

When I was ARes in the 80's I WANTED the ARes to be issued DPCU and combat gear only. I figured that way we would have some chance of been issued with a complete identical kit on enlistment. On their first parade they were a motley crew with barely two out of 40 dressed the same; some without boot (neither boots AB or GP's) and some without slouch hats - and that was after a month's notice of requirements - all sizes supplied.
The music played is The mad major (march on) / Scipio (general salute) / Men of Harlech - The duchess of Kent (inspection) Prussian glory - The bonnie English rose (march past) / Imperial echoes /British grenadiers (advance in review order) /Scipio (general salute)
Kapooka was really tough in the 80,s

They used to call this a drill
this so reminds me of when i was a cadet
In the 80's all parades lined up an marched out from 1RTB Transport. back when "Greens" was a thing.
Wow big diffence in Marchouts, no weapons, well ironed Uniforms but the spirit is there:)
I can only imagine how hard this would be on a hot day.
So much time spent getting the ranks in line... when there was lines on the ground. oof :S
my god, they've got women in there. No wonder it's fucked up. These aren't regular army recruits and they'll all from different corps
yes. thats how it works haha. you march out as your company etc but move on after the march out to your allocated corps.
