The thing that’s wonderful about Carson is that silence did not frighten him. He was comfortable with the awkward pauses and realized that’s where the laughter was.
@@pam0626 thank you. I wasn’t sure . I guess I assumed the comment about the silence between jokes & how the little one handled the silence threw me off? Tnx
Nobody can top Johnny never in a million and the way that he talks to the little kid and it's just magical it's amazing that is the cutest little boy I can't get over it Johnny knows just what to say
Zachary handled this interview so well for being just 3 years old at the time! Most youngsters his age wouldn’t have much to say to people like Johnny Carson! Not to mention his hair was so curly back then!
I love how Ed was so attentive to Zach. He lifted him into the chair, then held the mug as the little guy took a sip. Zach has such a sweet face. I laughed when he said: "I guess that's about it".
Watching these old clips reminds me so much of our family vacations we spent in a 3 bedroom, little chalet type place with 12 close family members in the Ozark. My aunt & uncle stayed up late every night to watch Johnnie every night. What they didn’t know was from the room I slept in, that had a folding door--I was watching along with them--peeking through a crack in the doors. My Uncle Bill had the same timing in his delivery of stories & jokes. To whomever posted this--thank you for great memory back to my childhood!
That is such a sweet comment. Thank you for taking the time to post it. As a child, I too 'watched' his show through a crack in the door (actually, I couldn't see the TV, I could only hear it) when it was on in the other room. It has been a lot of work to post these, but it has been far more a pleasure to be able to share clips with his fans. It has been a treat that Zachary has posted comments on this channel as well.
This is one of my favorite episodes of The Tonight show which is saying something. That kid always brings a smile to my face and Johnny's reaction is hilarious.
He's a cool guy Zach when I met him in 2012 was part of a Ghostbusters fan group were they'd dress up and go ton comic cons and even charity events free of charge putting smiles on sick kids faces.❤
One of a kind. I guess I would have to say he was the most constant man in my life besides my father. You could always depend on him to make you laugh every night. Hasn't been another like him_yet.
Both of my parents were there, along with my Aunt who was my manager at the time. My mom and aunt backstage with me right up until I had to go out. Dad was in the audience.
@@katinawoodruff-roberts8993 I just remember the band's music was loud and it startled me, and I remember I couldn't really see the audience with the way the lights were on me. It's kind of surreal to watch this now as a 37 year old man.
Johnny Carson was so good at what he did. No one has been as good since.
Because he used other people for personal gain
No one has been able to exploit children and continue to be exempt from exploitation as much as Johnny was
I agree. Then the Ed laugh!! 😂
@@sailwme people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.
@@imnoangeloreilly1475 clearly not me in that house
Carson never talked down to these very young people and really showed them the respect that they deserve as working actors no matter their age.

Not filmed infront of a live studio audience? So laughs are an added from a laughter track?
@@jnmwtkns Carson’s audience was live. Every single night.

Thanks for uploading this! I haven't seen this clip in maybe 20+ years. This was a nice trip down memory lane.
Thank you for your comment. As a very young kid in this interview, you were pretty sharp. All the best to you and your family.
I loved that movie Parenthood.
Darling clip. You were a brave 3 year old to go alone on Carson. It’s nice to see your comments.
You where so cute
You were super cute
This video shows why Johnny was the king. He had to keep the interview going, and he managed to get in several great lines.
Exactly. Carson was…. Fill in the blanks but he wasn’t normal
I have a 3 year old granddaughter and I can totally see her in this. So cute!
Love that mop of hair! Great patience for a three-year-old and as honest as can be!
Awww, so sweet! He's too cute for words. I can't believe he was so brave to be in front of all those people. He was great!
Still funny after all these years!! The interview with the little boy was hilarious 😂
Nobody can top Johnny never in a million and the way that he talks to the little kid and it's just magical it's amazing that is the cutest little boy I can't get over it Johnny knows just what to say
Johnny is so kind and respectful to this little guy Zachary.
Zachary handled this interview so well for being just 3 years old at the time! Most youngsters his age wouldn’t have much to say to people like Johnny Carson! Not to mention his hair was so curly back then!
Johnny was always good with kids and elderly people. He could make any situation funny.
And animals!! Once when they had on a baby orangutang he was hysterical
By the time they bring that soda out, Zachary could pass out from thirst! Johnny was always hilarious when he was the straight man! Miss him!
Johnny Carson was the absolute best, and his interview with Zachary LaVoy proves it!
I think this was his most difficult interview ever.🙂
Three year old baby he is and still he given great interview
I sure miss the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson!
Johnny was fantastic with little kids. Fallon should have him back as a 36 year old.
It doesn’t matter who Johnny interviews, he is so funny! This kid was adorable!
I adored Johnny. I wish he was still here.
Only 3! Adorable, funny, cool and laidback. Cuuuuuute and that’s about it 😊
A three year old shut the band down.
His guests are what made Johnny great.
If we could only bring this kind of entertainment back. ❤❤
Proving once again that no matter who the guest was, Johnny was the master and he'll never have a match.
Probably one of the most difficult and challenging interviews Johnny Carson has ever had! 💖
All interviews with young girls were worse as all he can say is that they are pretty. It’s super cringey
I miss Johnny so much & Ed's booming laughter from the sidelines. What an awesome show & duo! That little boy was adorable.😂
Minimalism at its finest. Carson is a maestro - but Zachary's unassuming innocence is pure priceless comic genius.
I miss Johnny. I hope he's having fun and laughing, whoever he is. Xxxxox
Carson was the best. I never knew we were seeing such talent back then. It was "normal" TV.
Johnny Carson, the Greatest Late Night TV Host ever!! The kid was adorable.
That was probably the hardest interview he ever did.
I miss Johnny. One in a million.
Nobody could interview like Johnny Carson. 🤣
Watch this a few times and you'll see how smart this little boy is! Not many kids could have handled themselves so well. He was adorable!
Johnny Carson miss him so much he was so funny great talk show hoste
That kid can talk and express himself better than any 3-4 yr old I know! Cute!!
This is hysterical! 🤣 Johnny Carson was a 💯 times better than that no-talent who hosts the Tonight Show now!
I love how Ed was so attentive to Zach. He lifted him into the chair, then held the mug as the little guy took a sip. Zach has such a sweet face. I laughed when he said: "I guess that's about it".
I ain't no little guy now his BMI index is off the chart LOL I bet you she has a boyfriend
Tried to shake his hand when he left but the kid just quick walked off.
Can't stop watching this. Love the innocence of the era.

Absolutely PRECIOUS and PRICELESS!
I remember seeing this when it aired and thinking- that is the cutest lil’ Bebe I’ve ever seen!! He made the movie too!!
He's a beautiful human being. He's alive, well, not a drug addict or offender. He's still cute to me!!
Johnny was so good at adlibbing
Just when you think he’s gonna say “Ya” he throws a few zingers!
This is a favorite episode! So funny!
This is one of my favorite episodes of The Tonight show which is saying something. That kid always brings a smile to my face and Johnny's reaction is hilarious.
I love it when they're to young to be impressed by all the glitz and glamor.
Dunno what he went on to do but he got to be on with Johnny.
He's so cute. I love his name. So Sweet and innocent
Only JC could pull off interviewing a 3 year old and make it work
Thats crazy im in Aurora, IL right now never knew he was from here ... He's cool

That interview proves how skilled Johnny Carson was!
This Kid is CUTE
Ew, it’s quite the opposite
All yes or no questions, very unskilled
@@M_SC LOL LOL.... And I suppose you have conducted many interviews and are a skilled in handling situations like this.
Oh yeah, Johnny Carson had lots of personality & a very calm, dry delivery. He sure made us all laugh a lot. RIP Johnny Carson.

The child knew it was too long of an interview.
Greetings from florida 🐬Thank You!!
This has to be his hardest interview
Johnny is so great with kids.
Pretty intelligent for a 3 year old.
wow 3yrs and this much intelligence 👏
Yes totally adorable! Reminded me of Shirley Temple kind of charm.
Brilliant interview 💯
Omg! Too flipping cute! It was probably way past his bed time! 😊
That three-year-old behaved as if he was so jaded. Hahaha
Nobody will ever be able to fill those shoes. He was the BEST!
What an adorable child!
At the end it waslike Zachary couldn't get out of there quick enough. 😂
That’s way too young to go on any show back then. He was nervous , aww .
I remember seeing this a few times. The part where he says: "cute" I lose it😅
What a adorable little boy.. He was so funny ❤
johnny earned his money on that interview. gee whiz...

ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m surprised Mom or Dad weren’t there. Adorabled bright child.
I should think they were but he was allowed to go on , on his own .
I thought they could be there too but maybe they did not want to appear

Both he and Johnny Good Looking. 🙏
It must be hard to carry a conversation with a 3 year old
You obviously have no idea how to relate to people.
So cute. 😊👍
Cracked me up...this is great 🤣
Better to ask open ended questions than yes or no questions. Still, cute interview because that little fellow was cute, as he knew, lol .
Maybe you should do a late night talk show.
That' the best laugh I've had in a long time
What a cutie!
I miss everything that was given the peace inside happeniesss from within.
What a beautiful doll🥰😍
