Stu you have no idea how much you inspire people. I have repaired a 50 year old wall my father started. He had no skills really nor the technolgy to learn and it had fallen apart and lay wrecked for decades. Watching your videos so much gave me the drive to fix it and even add two courses. My first wall. Thank you for all you do on here
Absolutely nobody does better work than you do. You’re always looking for innovative ways to make your work better. Tremendous job. Don’t see you much anymore
Love watching your videos Stu. I definitely miss bricklaying. I always found it so satisfying when finished and standing back to look at the work you’ve done.
Another really good job. I love the color of your mortar, how do you mix it? In Germany we usually have gray mortar, but I like the earthy color much better.
Quality work stu I live just up the road from there drove past everyday for weeks I thought it was you but didn’t want be some random guy shouting stu 😂😂 crackin job mon!
Hi Stu......that looks amazing...... I just wondered what your thoughts were to the reports on the news yesterday of brilayers earning 6 figure salaries due to the shortage of qualified brickies in this country? Given your skills and (I presume) the academy you must be driving around in a ferrari? No? ahhhh so the feeding of this news was just a ploy to get more people into the trades then? Seriously though, your skills are exemplary...... the feeling of satisfaction when completing a job like that must be immense! thanks for the videos and your hard work
Lovely wall. I love the recessed pointing on rustic bricks like that. Question. I noticed that the wall is one brick length accross by the way a brick was layed accross at the start of the wall. Just had the idea that when laying the half brick headers on the curve, occasionally the inner and outer skin lign up. In which case it would be good to lay a whole brick accross the wall to help strengthen it and also save time cutting it and laying two half bricks.
I’m a fan of watching your videos 👍🏻 I sent it to a mate who commented, there’s muck in the crevice and it should have been left clear for expansion and to stop effervescence?
Quality work stu. I really do envy you and brickies over your side. We very rarely get to lay much brick here in the west of ireland, its all heavy wet concrete blocks 😂
You have a great job! But I don’t understand, you have a big trowel, my grandfather was a bricklayer all his life, his mania was for small trowels, I don’t know, is there some secret? or whatever is convenient
@@Stucrompton1 hey Champ... Show us how you’re doing/prepping your mortal. It looks always so smooth and colorful 👌🏽 Pls, we all want to know your most used materials and your mixing Ratio.
Great video pal love watching you work its an art. Can I ask some advice please. I'm going to dig the foundations for a small garden wall outside my house 2m x 3m only single skin and about 450mm tall. How deep should I dig it please.
Good work but the bricks clash with the colour of the houses in my opinion Something like black wrought iron fence would have looked better Just my opinion
Brilliant! no swearing, no bigging yourself up, just pure craft and skill a real credit to the trade
