A couple of people have asked if the Thai citizenship interview was in Thai. We had been recording well over an hour and towards the last 15mins I was praying my batteries wouldn’t die which they did. However, I only lost 3 minutes and it was here that Noah told me that the whole process involved speaking Thai. What surprised me was that all the paperwork was filled out by the Thai authorities so he didn’t have to write anything.
The entire process is in Thai, which makes sense. There was a multiple choice test of a few questions e.g. 'Chiang Mai province is in which region of Thailand?' that took place at McDonalds. They are planning on moving the whole process to the Ministry of the Interior with a full test to elementary school Thai reading/writing/listening (P6) which will cut down the already small numbers that can get citizenship (currently about 300 per year, I think). If you are married, you don't have to sing the National Anthem! The cost was 5,000 Baht, plus 500 for the certificate. If anyone out there qualifies with the three year Work Permit/tax and is either married or has PR, I suggest they get in quick.
@@noah_shepherd really enjoyed your homes and hearing about your life!! You’re definitely one of the most interesting people I’ve ever seen. Loved the interviews but now I want to hear more! Lol
Hi Pete I watched both interviews with great interest - both were fascinating on different sides. And of course thanks to you Pete for sharing this with us. Greetings from Sattahip - Gerd 🌈🍀💖🌴🌈
What a great interview, glad you just let it flowed. Noah is a very interesting and engaging interviewee . He seems a hardworking and smart well rounded individual who has a lol of life experience. Loved the previous story of his Kayaking business and this was equally watchable. Loved the 2 house tours too. The 30 min interviews seemed to go so quick due to the great insight about his life. Many thanks....
Very cool. Its a combination of you being skilled enough to let the person being interviewed speak and that person having content to speak of. In the words of Mohammad Ali, “Thats a hell of a combination!”.
Wow, nice interview !!! I remember this days 1995-2000 Before the Internet totally did take over, I was working for Nokia and Eriksson Mobile back in this days 😃
Thank you Pete I’ve really enjoyed listening to Noah’s journey a very clever smart man with a great story to tell’ who knows where one’s life can lead to if you decide to move on loved part 1and 2 and I couldn’t wait for part 3 thank you both Pete and Noah
Interesting interview as always. Really liked his managerial advice, patience, no need to put anyone down etc. The best Managers are like this, and get the best out of their staff.
Thank you, and Noah, for a very informative and intriguing interview, well done. Noah's life story can be described as a textbook example of 'How to succeed in business and life' . His 'Saving Face" description is spot on in managing people and creating teamwork. Again, Thank you both,
I stumbled across your site when you did your interview with Steve Rosse that you dud and I like and follow his site too. I just saw this interview that you did with Noah and I just wanted to say to you I think it was absolutely wonderful. I think your guest was most interesting, had great insight which is backed up by his success here his learning how to fit into and respect this culture, and the fact that he now has Thai citizenship. It was easy to listen to and interesting from beginning to end and I think young man, you're doing a good job! I won't go into a lot of personal detail, but I am 83 years of age and have live now in Thailand for the last28 years was a hotelier, bur no doubt that I regrettably still do not speak Thai well. But I digress just wanted to say congratulations to your site your story with the man from South Wales, it was very interesting. So thanks "Thairish". you're doing a good job and working hard and I think you're gonna be a star

Noah has a keen eye for an opening in the market and he done so well with the Laos project . He seems very calm and thinks things through. The Thai citizenship he got was great for him. By far the BEST video EVER on how to become a Thai citizen. I’m short, be a rock star and super disciplined. It will be HELL for a lazy person who doesn’t take every challenge as an adventure, and lastly be SERIOUS AND SURE of your decision because it will probably take 5 to 10 years of your life, as was the case for my US citizenship journey. No BS, this was amazing
Loved the bit about the Sony camera. I worked as a program director in the early '00s and we had a website address but nothing on it. This interview brought back memories.
Absolutely fascinating interview with a truly interesting and inspirational guy who deserves all he has achieved. Love his modesty and playing down his entrepreneurial skills as maybe opportunism. You handled the interview really well and just let it flow. Best one I’ve seen yet but working through some of your backlog. Keep up the good work Pete.
Another great interview Pete. Fascinating life story. Wouldn't worry about ditching the prepared questions. Look at them as a safety net which wasn't needed in this case.
