Was there a link to the replacement you bought? I can't seem to find a reasonably priced legit product. Either it's $175 each from a reputable parts company or $45 total on Amazon with low reviews. Link?
As a woman in her 80's, I couldn't wait any longer for my son to replace my split visor. Watched your video a few times, sat in my car and replaced the visor - couldn't believe how simple it was from your instructions. Thank you so much.
Thank you. Very straight-forward and helped me when the dealer insisted I could never install this myself. Honda should replace these free of cost but the part alone was $75.
Thanks for putting up this video, the visor is so simple to replace. I bought my civic coupe about a year ago and I started having problems the very first week, since it was used I just dealt with it. I finally got another visor and 10 minutes later it's good as new, I never thought a video on installing a new one would be on UA-cam.
Nice, thanks for sharing, yea when I had my 2006 Honda Civic LX there was a manufacturer defect on the sun visors. And at the time in 2006-2007 I still had bumper to bumper warranty on my Civic and the dealer replaced it free of charge.
Thank you so much! This just happened to my car and knew Big Dog was gonna have something on how to fix/replace this. And sure enough, you came through again!
You are correct sir. Speaking of window regulators, the one on my 2011 Civic seems to have taken a dump. It's the rear passenger door window regulator.
Big Dog, thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU! Any easier and you would have had to come here and do it for me. And I totally agree with yours and other’s opinion - Honda should pay to replace these items for the entire life of the respective vehicles.
Well done video & informative. I've got the acura version of this model & although acura/honda did extend the warranty, both my visors broke after it expired. Mine has the lights so I guess I'll have to watch for that plug. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video. I'm replacing my sister's sunvisor on a 2009 Civic, which I got on Amazon for $25. Same manufacturer makes the Honda one for $72. I did this with my 2009 Toyota Camry because Toyotas had the same issue.
Hi, this video was awesome (I’ve been putting it off because honestly I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it) and I wish I’d known how easy it actually was! I have an issue I can’t even find on the net and that is that the visor is too tight 🤷🏻♀️ I loosened the screw but I realized they didn’t have anything to do with it. I don’t want it to break on me. Got any advice? Thanks!!
Honda knows this is a problem and should get a new design or at least fix the ones that fail. The visor and all exterior trim is failing on my 2011. Their quality is not what it use to be. This is my last Honda. Won't buy a Honda again. Switching to Toyota.
Thank you for teaching me! I m replacing mine right now, last time I went to my mechanic guys n he did it for me, I paid him &25 dollars but this time I'll do it myself, it seems pretty easy! I hope I don't brake anything in the new one....
I had the drivers side replaced during the original recall for it back in 2011. But just had the passenger side break. Glad it was as easy as I thought it was to replace it. But the current price I just paid my dealership for a replacement one was $99. Don't know if I could have found it anywhere else cheaper, but at least I'm not paying for the labor.

Sometimes the color is listed on a sticker inside the driver's door. Another alternative is to give a Honda dealer the VIN or plug the VIN into an online dealer site like Honda Parts Now and that will usually get the correct part number.
Hello if you can pleas answer to this comment whenever you are free what is the measurement for the screw I bought my visors used and they didn’t come with screws so I’m trying to find out the measurement of the screws
Where do you guys buy your Honda parts? I just called the local dealer and they charge about $100 just for the visor. Ive seen some online for about $30-50. Want to know legit ones though. Thanks!
These visors are rubbish haha. My 08 civic has the same thing. Happened after the hot Australian summer this year. One day I got in the car and noticed that the visor was stuffed. It looks EXACTLY like your broken one in the video. Doesn't stay up anymore either. Honda should have recalled these cause they are cheaply made. What's worse is the replacements haven't been fixed afaik so you buy one put it on then 2 years later it's broken again. Thankfully the parts only like $40 aud. At least they made it simple to replace it.
Thanks for the video but this is a visor replacement and not a repair. The visors for the 2006-2012 Civic were poorly designed. Eventually, Honda was sued and chose to settle the Class Action Lawsuit by replacing defective visors on specific models. Many visors were replaced this way but unfortunately this was just a temporary fix because Honda failed to correct the original poor design. My 2007 Civic received replacement visors in 2011. It is now 2016 and guess what ... the replacement visors are failing. Good job Honda! If your visor(s) are failing you have two options: 1) Buy new replacement visors. The cheapest (new) visor from Honda can be purchased via ebay for less than $50 (each). You then follow this video to replace them. Total cost = $100 or so. 2) You can repair the visors by following videos here on UA-cam. Search for "honda civic visor repair" and you will find a few. Total cost of repair is about $2 per visor and some of your time.
Semantics on the wording, when you fix your vehicle its called a repair. But I do have it listed as replacement in the description of the video and the opening title. If you actually watched the video, you would see I spoke about the design, repairing it and about the lawsuits and settlements.

Thank you so much I’m a 16 year old without a dad. Love your videos. Really helped.
I appreciate the comment, thanks!
You don’t need a Dad to be a great man 👨🏽, But be sure to seek out good role models 💪🫵
Thank you. Very straight-forward and helped me when the dealer insisted I could never install this myself. Honda should replace these free of cost but the part alone was $75.
Glad it helped!
This is the third broken sun visor I’ve had!! So frustrating!! Thanks for the video 😁
It sucks when they keep breaking, thank you for the comment!
Melissa G how long do they last?
Thank you so much! Honda was charging $200 to change this, but the part was only $25 online, and I fixed it super easy thanks to your video!
👍

Mike Crittenden Thanks for the input.
Thanks my good man. You just saved me $40.
Thanks for the comment, glad it helped!
These instructions worked like a charm.

Thank you for the video keeping it in the plastic while installing is a great idea
👍
I like your video because you made it easy to understand.
Also I appreciate it that you took it apart because I was going to try to fix it myself.
Nice video . Very clear and concise installation instructions
Thank you so much! This just happened to my car and knew Big Dog was gonna have something on how to fix/replace this. And sure enough, you came through again!
lol thanks!
He definitely came through.
Honda should be ashamed of itself. I've had this happen on 4 Honda vehicles in our family. 3 Civics (2010, 2 x 2011) and 1 2011 Honda Accord.
Khyber Safi Yep. If you own Hondas, two things you can be sure of repairing are window regulators and sun visors.
You are correct sir. Speaking of window regulators, the one on my 2011 Civic seems to have taken a dump. It's the rear passenger door window regulator.
Khyber Safi I made a video on the front passenger window regulator for this vehicle if you haven't done one yet. Rear is similar.
Yeah, I saw the video. It looks like a pretty simple job. Thanks for the high quality and informative videos.
Big Dog, thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!

Just replaced mine, thanks! Very easy to follow

thanks, I'm on my second visor for a 2008 Civic needed this refresher to remember how to do it.
Thank you for the comment.

Thanks for the video. I'm about to change mine for the third time. This time I'm doing it myself ; )
👍
Could you theoretically swap the passenger side over temporarily. Just the mirror would be on the other side right?
Cool! I can replace mine now. I hope the original part I purchased at Honda of Fishers (IN) does not have the same issue. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment!
Thank you!! I just changed mine it was very easy to do

Big Dog50001 Automotive very helpful body...... 👍🏻
Had this problem...welded the visor seam with a soldering gun...older Honda ...so far it works...
👍

They can be expensive depending on model. Thanks for the input!

I live in Turkey, the price is $190 here, can you give me a sales link where I can buy from abroad? (civic 2010 fd6) thk
Def gonna give this a try! Looks simple enough
Yeah this is an easy one.
Well laid out and executed video thanks
Thanks!
Great video! Thank you so much!
Great video. Struggling with color selection. How can I insure I order the right color from amazon. I know it's grey, just which grey.
Sometimes the color is listed on a sticker inside the driver's door. Another alternative is to give a Honda dealer the VIN or plug the VIN into an online dealer site like Honda Parts Now and that will usually get the correct part number.
@@BigDog50001 awesome thanks. I will check it out.
Thanks! Very helpful.
👍
this is really easy lol thanks
Yeah, this one is pretty easy!
Both mine are broke, but seems steep at $50 each, gonna try a c-shaped clamp or screws first, since I like the industrial look, haha!
Always an option lol!
Thanks buddy
👍
Hello if you can pleas answer to this comment whenever you are free what is the measurement for the screw I bought my visors used and they didn’t come with screws so I’m trying to find out the measurement of the screws
Here is the part number for the screw for the vehicle in this video: 90131-SCV-A00 Screw, Pan (5X23).
Both of my visors warped and broke in the Arizona heat. Bummer.
I have replaced a lot of Honda visors due to AZ weather.
Where do you guys buy your Honda parts?

Amazon is a good place to get deals on these usually. I only get them if it Amazon selling it and not a third party.
I checked Ebay and Amazon, Amazon was cheaper.
is there aftermarket sun visor that fits? Any feedback please.
I'm not aware of any.
+Big Dog50001 ..thank you BigDog50001

@5:34 I can't believe how saggy that is new out of the box - you had to lift it 1/2 inch to get it into the holder

I have a 2007 Honda Civic Lx coupe. My sun visor just gave out at 266 XXX km. Poor design by Honda.
