I have watched this numerous times since you posted this trying to get the nerve up to do this 😅 I finally decided to do it and on my first day back to work after being home with my kids for 8 years!!!! I am not disappointed AT ALL!!!!! I can’t believe how good my makeup looks after working all day and hardly ANY marks on my nose from my glasses?!?!!!!!!Thank you so much for sharing!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh wow Vickie! First congrats on the new job sweetie! How exciting! And second, WOOHOO! That's awesome my friend! I love hearing successes like yours! Thanks ever so much for telling me.
Mist the inside of your mask with smashbox setting spray and hang it up to dry while you get ready. You will hardly lose any makeup on it throughout the day. Trust, it works!
Wow... Definitely life has changed... Now we are sharing tips in how to wear a mask, how to dont loose our make up with the mask on, etc... Very interesting. Thank you for the tips . I'm glad I read it cause I don't even wear make up anymore -just a bit of mascara-because I feel trapped with the mask and so bored and dissapointed and sad and challenged and I don't see the point of wear make up anymore having to use a mask and I used to loved make up.
So I’ve watched your video 4-5 times, each time I’ve tried this technique, and it did take a couple of times before I got everything where I wanted it. HOLY COW! What a huge difference this made. So much less texture and creasing 😲 Thank you so much for sharing this!!!
I’m just now seeing this. But good tips/tricks are never outdated. When this was suggested, thought it was going to be the small drop of oil in your foundation. Saw his video for that trick as well. Thank you for sharing.
Omg!!! This has solved my problem. I wanted to moisturize because my skin is dry but my makeup slide everywhere and caked in my wrinkles. This is a game changer. Thank you!!!
I did a lot of mixing and experimenting with my makeup back then. I also found that adding baby powder to your liquid foundation allows it to give better coverage as well as oil absorbing.
Such a flattering finished look and what a great tutorial. You and Wayne are both gems in the UA-cam beauty world. So thrilled for you to reach the 50K milestone! 💕
Congratulations on 50,000 subscribers! OMG you must be so excited! I really liked today’s video. Wayne Goss is one of the few promoting beauty in women 40+ 50+. I wish more cosmetic companies noticed women of a certain age and their beauty needs. 💚💚💚
WOW!! It works 😭 crying eyes for the makeup and time wasted trying to figure out how to make it stay put. Thank you! After hours of videos.. this is it! Thanks again. You ladies put the time in and are passionate about makeup. Classy and authentic. There’s no need to swear to get a point across. I watched Wayne’s video after and preferred yours. Your personality is adorable. I just turned 40 and have the trouble areas that comes with age. This will save on time and money.
I'm excited to try this. Thank you for the tips. I like to watch Wayne Goss. I've learned a lot from him. I swear every video you do you look even more beautiful. Happy New Year to you and your family. Hugs~💗
Lovely end Result ... Iv started to now use Garnier BB creme instead of foundation. My skin has never felt so soft and moisturised. The colour looks great. Been using it daily now for 3 weeks. Tiny amount of loose powder and good to go. No break outs so far which is something I usually would get.
I remember watching this video a few years ago (been following Wayne for 10+ years). I remember thinking that this goes against the whole "liquid before powder" concept, but it really does work. I should have known better than to doubt Wayne Goss!
. ..... I am 66 years young and I have tried this technique and I was absolutely .... Amazed. I've been following Wayne for quite a while and I did see him do this but it's really great to see you walk you know mature women through this and show them -on the age spots and everything that we we all deal with -how great this and look. Thank you so much!!
OMG I just tried this while watching your video and can’t believe how good my face looks thank you so much for posting this! I am 50 years old with lots to cover/work with and found this to be so helpful❤️❤️
I still like applying my foundation and concealer with my fingers. I’m old school. I have tried a sponge and a couple of brushes, but I like the fuller coverage I get with just using my fingers.
Thank you for reminding me of this great tip. I watched his video 4 years ago and I was blown away when I did it. But over time I forgot about it. Im going back to it again. It makes sense. It truly works. Im over 66. I need great makeup tips. You do a great job sharing your makeup tips up close and personal.
I just stumbled onto your site! I subscribed...you are just a joy to watch. I'm 54 and love the fact you aren't a 20 something. I finally have a woman I have 'time' in common with. What a lucky day... Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks with us! P.s. I loved the way you put your setting spray on!!! You are a real down to earth, real person that knows what they're doing with makeup!
This is excellent! I’ve never tried powder under foundation, but it looks gorgeous-so much better than powder on top for my 65 year-old dry skin. And using setting spray instead of powder on top is genius!
Holy crap !! I tried this today and am blown away- turning 50 this week and cannot believe the difference this made in my foundation application- love your tips and tricks - have a great day 💗
I saw Wayne's tutorial about a year ago, and have been using this technique ever since. I live in the desert southwest, and about half the year is treacherous for made up faces! What I really love about this tip is how well it actually holds up in 100° plus weather! Give it a try! You will change your routine too- I promise you!
Amazing. I may have seen Wayne do this but obviously I need to watch again. I’ve seen younger gals use setting spray before an application of foundation but I’m not much on setting sprays. Thanks for this video.
This video just now came through on my YT feed. I’m definitely going to try it! Thanks for sharing! I love your sweet personality & all your videos! 💕🙂
I’m definitely going to try this and I actually think I remember him doing this video and then I just forgot about it, so, thank you for reminding me! Your skin looks beautiful and you look beautiful
@@MrsMelissaM Thanks so much, Melissa!! Can't wait to try it. I'm 76 ... and NOTHING really works anymore. I look better with make-up than without, but at this age and with all the sun damage and wrinkles, I sometimes feel that nothing but a miracle would help. Will give this a go. By the way, Wayne also had a fabulous sponge hack -- get those little white (cheap) sponges, tear it in half, moisten it slightly, and use the nubbley end to blend your make-up. When done, TOSS the sponge. I've always wondered about those Beauty Blenders ... that no matter how much you wash them, they might hold on to old product and bacteria. Ewwwww ....
I love your authenticity. This is you sharing knowledge & we can see that you want us to benefit from a specific technique, without pushing any brand at the same time.( I'm happy for anyone to earn revenue from their channel too, absolutely! 💯) but it's still great to see how genuine u are, you obviously enjoyed making this! I really can’t wait to recover enough to feel like putting on makeup again. This looks fantastic and I want to try it. Thanks for showing us this technique. 🥰
All of your videos really resonate with me! I'm 55 and I have a chubby round face with a sagging jawline and badly hooded eyes with a lot of crepe loose skin. My skin tone is very similar to yours. I'm going to try all of your techniques. I just wanted to thank you for all the wonderful mature beauty tutorials. You are the only person I have seen on UA-cam to address really crepe and hooded eyes. I'm glad I came across your channel.
This video is going to be my saving grace tomorrow at a job interview. I was hunting for a way to avoid using so much foundation so I didnt look like an extra in the Thriller video. You are fabulous...thank you!!
I will have to try this powder first then foundation cause it does look good❣️ On another note, I am a Cosmetologist and with your lovely blue eyes, you need a shorter n blunt bob near your fabulous jawline and so red hair with blonde hilights......the red solid color will make your fine, thin hair look not only richer but a bit thicker.....then the blonde hilights will add dimension and you will look so sassy n energetic.....
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m curious to try this now. I just joined the 40+ club this year, so I’m all about this life 😄 I love how your entire look came out. Beautiful!
Mrs M, I so appreciate, Your honesty and transparency on your skin and practices when you share with us ! Im going to try this application and see if this is the trick that will help me and my horrid dry aging skin ! Happy New Year XOXO oh pss... SKIN is in Pretty Momma

Another gem! I have been away from YT far too long. Loving your tips! I can't get over how great you look and how bubbly you still are! Thank you for helping the mature community! Now I am going to rewatch this and take notes. Much love!
It's sure is a beautiful spray. My only concern with it is that it contains alcohol. If you're normal to oily skin, it works great. But if your skin is dry, it can be a bit drying. It was wonderful for me in the summer! Thanks for reminding us about that great product Mel!🙂
I watched a Wayne Goss video where he said he never puts makeup on the brush, he dots it right on the skin and uses super light pressure to blend it out with a brush. Something to try.
Thank you for the tips. Your skin looks amazing without makeup and with too. I'm just a little older than you, but I definitely can't say the same about my skin. It's been a bit since I've played with makeup, so I am going to give this technique a try.
😱 OhMyGoodNess it has been 4years when I watch his video No No No.. that can't be, it feels like a year ago. LOL..😜Well let's just drop the year 2020 and imagine it was 3 years ago. You know Melissa I have never tried doing this because of my dry skin but You changed my mind SO.. thank you girlfriend. ☃️ I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas 🎀🐕🐾🐕🦺 🌻 much love 2 U 🤗 Bless 🕊
Thank you Melissa ! I am over 60 and have trouble blending foundation. Dry skin and really fair. I have done this method the past few days and I am blown away. Thank you !!
I tried this for weeks and at first liked it but then saw my foundation was patchy around my nose and mouth I tried with and without primer but putting powder on before foundation is a no go for me.
I have very dry skin and I’m 53 years old and have good skin I always get compliments and ppl think I am about 7-10 years younger than i am! I don’t use concealer and just started using eye cream (all TATCHA PRODUCTS) I am having a bit of trouble finding a foundation that covers but not too much bc I have a natural glow but am getting Age spots and need a little more coverage.Any recommendations? Thank you so much ❤️🥰 Have a great day!Melissa Morales
Wow! This is great! Your video popped up just as I was getting ready to do my makeup! Just tried it and love it! Getting ready to take my face for a road test! Wayne Goss is wonderful! And I have been using your under eye trick you shared a few months ago using the Catrice under eye primer, the LA Girl color corrector, and the Revolution concealer! Melissa, this has been a game changing trio! No more creasing! Sometimes I just use the primer and corrector alone and that is enough. It the corrector I used today to follow along with your video! Thank you so much for sharing! 😊
I'm so so excited to hear this! I lived that you tried it immediately because that's exactly what I did & I couldn't believe it! Thanks so much for letting me know!
Your make up looks gorgeous. Thank you for your research and hardwork. It is much appreciated. You are my favorite you tuber. We are about the same age. I will be 53 in August. I love your outfits and jewelry, too
I did this technique today with E.L. Double Wear over DRMTLTGY tinted sunscreen and my skin looks years younger. I did the tissue blotting after the sunscreen application, the light application of powder and 1/3 less foundation than I normally use applied with a damp BeautyBlender. Perfect. Thank you.
I had to tell you Melissa, I tried this foundation trick the morning. I have been struggling with horrible under eyes, makeup sliding around off my face etc etc etc..OMG this trick is amazing!! I do not think my makeup has ever looked soo good before! THANK YOU so much for sharing!
Oh my goodness!!! This is awesome! My makeup looks flawless when I do this. Thank you for the tip. I’m 51 soon to be 52 and need all the help I can get. I appreciate all your posts. I have a lot of chronic illnesses and your in my prayers. Take care of yourself. God bless! 🙏🏼❤️

I have been using the slightest amount of powder before my foundation recently. It seriously makes any foundation last longer, and I am oily skinned. Best idea ever.
Great info. I have been experiencing any foundation settling into pores, no matter what kind of primer, no matter what foundation. I will definitely be trying this today. I look forward to reporting positive results!!

It's sure is a beautiful spray. My only concern with it is that it contains alcohol. If you're normal to oily skin, it works great. But if your skin is dry, it can be a bit drying. It was wonderful for me in the summer!
Thanks for reminding us about that great product Mel!🙂
Of course, as a combination skin lady it's fine for me but I do understand it's not for everyone ☺️
Great video! And thank you for turning your light off to show the actual coverage - very helpful!
I'm sure glad you liked the video!
Love your doxie😘
Thx Susan. He's such a camera hog! Lol
Thank you! Sending you love and gratitude! ❤️
Love your eye make up. Do a tutorial on eye makeup please

Can't wait to hear what you think of it
Thank you Melissa 💜 you get more and more beautiful with each video that you do for us. I appreciate you! Love ya 💕💜💕
Love you much pretty girl! ❌⭕❣❣❣
Thank you for sharing these tips! You look beautiful! 😊🙏
My pleasure Mel!
I watched a Wayne Goss video where he said he never puts makeup on the brush, he dots it right on the skin and uses super light pressure to blend it out with a brush. Something to try.
Will try it , you look great !💄👍
Thank you!
Thank you for the tips. Your skin looks amazing without makeup and with too. I'm just a little older than you, but I definitely can't say the same about my skin. It's been a bit since I've played with makeup, so I am going to give this technique a try.
I can't wait to hear how it goes for you Toola!
Thank you Melissa - you look fabulous!
Oh thanks so much my dear
Love that big ole brush!
You look absolutely gorgeous!
Thx so very much Genie!
😱 OhMyGoodNess it has been 4years when I watch his video No No No.. that can't be, it feels like a year ago. LOL..😜Well let's just drop the year 2020 and imagine it was 3 years ago. Thank you Melissa ! I am over 60 and have trouble blending foundation. Dry skin and really fair. I have done this method the past few days and I am blown away. Thank you !!
Oh my goodness! Thanks so much for telling me Cathy. And I'm super excited for you!
I tried this for weeks and at first liked it but then saw my foundation was patchy around my nose and mouth I tried with and without primer but putting powder on before foundation is a no go for me.
I'm sorry it didn't work for you Valorie, but I'm glad you shared your experience with everyone. Not all tips work for everyone! Thank you.
I love this tip. I too love Mr. Goss. Wishing you and your family a new year full of love, and health.
Have a wonderful weekend Migdalia!
You don’t be missing around with that setting spray! 🤣
Nope get it on there girl!
Thank you Melissa, what a great tip.
So happy you liked it Sheila
Your little dog is so adorable and sweet 🐶❤️
Ollie says hello Debra🐾🐕❌⭕❤
I tried this trick back when wayne introduced it and it didn’t work for me. It made my pores and texture way worse! Sigh!
Oh darn it! I'm sorry.
Well all powders are not the same. Neither are foundations some work for me some dont.
Your make up looks gorgeous. Thank you for your research and hardwork. It is much appreciated. You are my favorite you tuber. We are about the same age. I will be 53 in August. I love your outfits and jewelry, too
Why does this technique work for everyone but not me😭
Oh no. Can you change up your products a little with different combinations? Also I use the very smallest amount I can get away with!
@@MrsMelissaM I guess it's just not for me🤷♀️😆
Happy new year🥂🎉🍾
Me too
@@jeaninemorgan9118 It works for you too? Or it doesn't?😀
Yessssss. Wayne is a makeup GOD. Adore him and his videos!!!❤❤❤
I agree Nyk! He's amazing!
I did this technique today with E.L. Double Wear over DRMTLTGY tinted sunscreen and my skin looks years younger. I did the tissue blotting after the sunscreen application, the light application of powder and 1/3 less foundation than I normally use applied with a damp BeautyBlender. Perfect. Thank you.
Oh my goodness! I'm so excited to hear this! Yay Susan!
Yay! 50K! Life changing foundation routine?! I’m in. Excited to watch ❤️
Lol...hugs & luvs Tamera!
I had to tell you Melissa, I tried this foundation trick the morning. I have been struggling with horrible under eyes, makeup sliding around off my face etc etc etc..OMG this trick is amazing!! I do not think my makeup has ever looked soo good before! THANK YOU so much for sharing!
Yay! I'm so excited to hear that Stacey. Thank you
Oh my goodness!!! This is awesome! My makeup looks flawless when I do this. Thank you for the tip. I’m 51 soon to be 52 and need all the help I can get. I appreciate all your posts. I have a lot of chronic illnesses and your in my prayers. Take care of yourself. God bless! 🙏🏼❤️
I'm so happy you liked it Debra! Yay! Thanks for getting back to me!
Omg 😱 this worked. I just followed your directions! No primer and it works! I love my skin!!!!!!
Woohoo Dianna! So happy to hear this!
New sub. I absolutely adore your review/tutorial of this application process. I'm so impressed with your knowledge & easy uplifting personality. You're very pretty. I'm 53 & don't look near as beautiful as you do. 🥰🥰
Hi doll! I'm so excited that you decided to subscribe! Thank you so much! And thank you for your kind words also. It means a lot to me. Please let me know if I can answer any questions or help with anything. That's why I'm here!
Really enjoyed your tips.
I have been using the slightest amount of powder before my foundation recently. It seriously makes any foundation last longer, and I am oily skinned. Best idea ever.
Oh I love hearing your experience! Thank you Linda!
Those are beautiful flowers . I had Casablanca lilies over the Christmas holidays .
Thank you Karin. I love flowers in the winter. They really cheer me up.
Great coverage and very luminous finish with this method
Thank you! 😊
Great info. I have been experiencing any foundation settling into pores, no matter what kind of primer, no matter what foundation. I will definitely be trying this today. I look forward to reporting positive results!!
I hope you love it Chrissy!
Wow thank you so much! Can't wait to try this. Saving this video asap!!!
I hope it works great for you Ashley!
