Turned out very nice. I've been hunting for a 28 chevy head or rajo myself. Just had the 26 engine for my coupe rebuilt. I went with a 300 cam with advanced timing gear, stromberg of carb, giant power flathead, high flow intake, larger valves and an original sure Mike counterbalanced crank. Were hanging out just under 40hp now.

oldtimesmatthew that a pretty impressive build! I guarantee that would outrun most OHV T’s. I have a stock cam in this one because the Chevrolet head has 1.7:1 rocker arms. Anything over stock lift would bottom the valve keepers on the valve guides. Believe me I tried!

@@64gravely it sounds like a great little setup. If you're ever on tour in the NY area we should go head to head 1/4 mile Haha. I think at top speeds the cross flowing overhead Chevy head might overtake my L.head flathead from its better breathing.

How funny, Ive been running a 1917 motor in my 1926 Tudor sedan while Ive been rebuilding its original 1926 engine.

Just now ran across your site.
Very nice 26 T. I noticed that you filmed the man at the beginning of the video on his home-made grader. He is a good friend of mine and we drive model As together.
He built that grader from scratch. He is very handy. He also put a home-made ice cream maker on the front of his gravely tiller for our enjoyment. Just wandering if you know him or just liked his grader?
Any more up grades to the 26 since last video?

Hmmm that head adapter is fairly complex.
So how did you find installing the head with the firewall clearance? I moved my body to avoid notching it (gas tank).
I see you used a distributor, was that because the coil box takes up space or to avoid the timing steps? Or maybe both.

slainwolf180 I had to clearance the firewall and gas tank to make room for the rear rocker arm. As far as the distributor the main reason is that this engine keeps making power up at higher RPM where the coil and timer setup would fall on its face. The coils can’t adequately recharge in time. Also the timing is no where near as accurate. I love the coils and they work wonderful on a stock T, but if you plan on turning higher RPM a distributor or high tension magneto is the way to go. A side benefit is that it takes up a lot less room under the hood
