In the Northeast of the USA my ground is so full of little stones that digging mine up was so time consuming! An uneducated person mowing my lawn mowed them all down before they even bloomed.😢 I'm in a town that requires us to keep tje grass below 9". Where I lived before there was a lot less restrictions & I let 2.5 acres that was previously mowed go wild. It's so much better for the enviroment! Thanks for your informative video. ☮️💞🙏🏼
Great video as always Niall! Fascinating information about daffodil blindness and the science behind it, I've definitely learned something new today. Very cool. Good luck digging up the rest of them! Seems like a massive undertaking....
wow Niall, that's a lot of work. What do you think the chances are that you'll miss a few and find them as little pops of colour next year? I can't wait to see your garden plans come to fruition. Will stay tuned for that.
Cheers Mutsumi! I think I’m going to go with lots more daffodils (white ones because I’m not such a fan of the yellow ones), fritillaria bulbs (the just look stunning when they flower), and then camassia bulbs for some colour towards the end of spring! We also have some bluebells and snowdrops... I’d love to increase their numbers too 😄
Question. I’m lifting my bulbs and have hundreds. Can I plant them in field where cattle graze? Will it harm cattle or will cattle harm daffodils?? Thanks in advance

Putting picts of what it looked like would be great. Like your info and I’m visual as well as great description

I did this last year and boy am I glad I did 🌸🦋🌸
Helpful video. Thanks so much!
That's what you call a labor of love
It was a bit, wasn't it?!
Thanks most helpful video as I'm doing the same with my daffodils

Thanks JB! I’ll let you know when I’ve got them all done... I could be some time! 😂
I have double Daffodils planted on a grave.. Is it ok to leave them in the ground and let them bloom next year? Thanks!

Yeah it’s gonna keep me busy, but it’ll be worth it! I’m almost guaranteed to miss a few, but they’ll be happy surprises in the spring! 😂
Excellent clear easy to follow instructions.
Glad it was helpful!
I can’t wait to see your garden in next spring. Just curious why bulbs you are going to purchase?

Hi Ellen! I need to be honest and say that I don’t actually know the answer to that - especially when it comes to livestock. Apologies!
Can I replant them straight away or is it best to store them in a potting shade until Autumn?
You can do either and they should work for you - whichever suits your plans best
Can't wait until next Spring to see how your game of "Daffodil Roulette" worked out will you succeed in your white/yellow separation :-)
Haha! Fingers crossed! 🤞 I’m feeling confident! 😂
Hi Niall, is there an update to this video? What happened in fall!?
I replanted a lot of the bulbs and they're looking gorgeous - check out my Spring garden tour and you'll see how they're all looking!
Thanks a lot. Good luck with all that work. Get that ivy out of the trees, mate, before it kills them.
You're more than welcome!
You let em grow tall coz you don't have snakes there, do you ?
St Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland centuries ago 😂
