This kind of reminded me of doing the Reviewing EVERY Death Album video. Cause like, every album is great. Even the 'worst' or least favourite album is still great.
TDEP was actually the first "core" band I listened. Ironically the song was One of Us Is the Killer (the most acessible one, I guess) and I remembered of loving it the first time. After that, I went more into metal music and more into their songs and yeah, awesome band with a awesome discography as you said. Great video as always dude, another "Reviewing Every Album" you could made is "Reviewing Every Converge Album", another master band of metalcore
One obviously loves the fact that Dillinger were technical, deep, intellectual, etc. But honestly if I had to describe them in a word it would be “cool”. They were just 100% badass from start to finish of their career. Not a single cringy moment from their discography, not one failed experiment. Flawless, stylish execution at all times. But I think a big part of the coolness also comes from their super simple and nondescript aesthetic, their unpretentious modest soft-spokeness, letting their powers speak for them (except when they had psychotic breaks with reality where they literally threw shit at people). They exuded an aura of extreme discipline, drive, self-mastery, seriousness, never arrogant or rock-starish for a moment. Focus, commitment, sheer-will, like John Wick pretty much
Everyone's takes on Dillinger record rankings is always interesting to me. Dissociation is my favorite album lol Long live the greatest band of all time. Dissociation One of Us is the Killer Irony is a Dead Scene Option Paralysis Ire Works Miss Machine Calc
The Dillinger Escape Plan is one of the greatest metalcore bands of all time and are pioneers of the mathcore style of metalcore. They have a very consistent discography but for the sake of a ranking here would be mine, though every album is very good: 6. One of Us Is the Killer 5. Calculating Infinity 4. Dissociation 3. Ire Works 2. Option Paralysis 1. Miss Machine
My favorite is absolutely Calculating Infinity. I think part of it is that I really really like Dmitri's vocals and the damn drumming. I love that psychotic, frenzied writing. My favorite track by then is either Sugar Coated Sour or Clip the Apex.
DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been listening to them since Option paralysis. Dang man this is one of the best bands, and one of the first bands that got me into metal to in the beginning. I'm so glad you decided to do this video ranking for them 🤘🏾
Hell yes! Ire Works was my favorite for a LONG time cuz it was my first… but then One Of Us Is The Killer came out and is now one of my all time favorite albums EVER
Camus (Cammoo) and Kirkegaard (keer kuh guard) for anyone interested in them existentialist philosophers. Also Nietzsche (Neechuh) and Sartre (sart with something like a trwuh at end if you're really going for it) because many had difficult names for white guys from Western Nebraska (me)
One of Us Is The Killer is for sure my favorite TDEP album, but like you said, they literally don't have a bad album at all. A strong case could definitely be made for using these guys as the go-to example of the most consistent discography you could ever hope to have as a band. Straight up legends that I will never get tired of listening to. It's wild to think how big they actually got considering the fact that like 90%-95% of their material isn't exactly accessible to the average listener.
The Dillinger Escape Plan was my introduction to mathcore and will always be along with Daughters as my favorite Band. The Dillinger Escape Plan EP (1997) - 7.5/10 Under The Running Board EP (1998) - 7.8/10 Calculating Infinity LP (1999) - 9.8/10 Irony Is a Dead Scene EP (2002) - 7.4/10 Favorite TDEP Record: Miss Machine LP (2004) - 10/10 Ire Works LP (2007) - 9.2/10 Option Paralysis LP (2010) - 7.5/10 One of Us Is the Killer LP (2013) - 8.7/10 Dissociation LP (2016) - 8.5/10
Daughters is sick. I was in a grindcore / math core band in high school and it was essentially just us trying to sound like a cross between them, TDEP and The Locust. Lol The first time I heard Daughters was when they played a show with The Black Dahlia Murder and The Bled and I was really turned off initially because Alexis kept spitting on everyone, grabbing his crotch and doing his little wiggly fingers. They ended up becoming a favorite for sure 😂
Started listening to TDEP when Irony is a Dead Scene released. One of my All time favorite bands, and was lucky to see the band 4 times, one of those being when they opened for Deftones.
I still have yet to hear a TDEP record but what I have heard is really fucking impressive, the cover of Aphex Twin's Come to Daddy on that EP they did with Mike Patton especially on is one of the oddest covers and songs that I've ever heard in general
Great video. Here is my ranking: 6. Calculating Infinity 5. Miss Machine 4. One of Us is the Killer 3. Dissociation 2. Ire Works 1. Option Paralysis I will never understand people hating on Option Paralysis.
I know that it is a completely different genre but will you do a complete discography review of Revocation once the new album comes out? Love your videos, man! Keep up the good work!!
My DEP ranking has to be 6: Calculating Infinity (2.5/5 or 3/5) 5: Ire Works (3.5/5) 4: One of Us is the Killer (4/5) 3: Option Paralysis (4/5) 2: Dissociation (4.5/5 or 5/5) 1: Miss Machine (5/5)
Great video. Always loved TDEP. Very consistent band, hard to rank their albums. My ranking would go like this: 1: Miss Machine 2: Irony Is a Dead Scene 3: Ire Works 4: One of Us Is the Killer 5: Calculating Infinity 6: Option Paralysis 7: Dissociation

Mathcore to me is just like they set someone loose who has adhd on the instruments, they have riffs here and there that I like, but overall the music lacks abit of the subtlety with riff changes, which sometimes the subtle things can be the most effective, yes Mathcore bands are insanely technical and skilled at techniques but it's almost like the songwriting isn't honed in on that same level, I partly get that's what they go for, atleast it makes them sound individual, but when you go for one riff to another that is nothing alike and just completely different it kind of sounds abit forced. Tbh I never really could get into math core. It’s really just not my thing and I don’t like the vocals for tdep either. They are one of those popular bands I just can’t get into

This band is basically if members of Nine Inch Nails and Dream Theater had intercourse with each other and gave birth to a baby.

Apparently I have to check these guys out, that’ll be yet another band I’ve discovered thanks to this channel, thank you good sir!
