Speedy vid making a basic wand from purple heart wood. This wand as well as LOADS of other wands and gear available in my Etsy shop: nemesisgear.etsy.com
Thank you. I pretty much do every wand by feel other than just marking out generally where my handle will be. But even then I use it as more of a guide. I have a rough sketch of some general shapes I like to use for different section, and I may refer to it part way through to get ideas of what I think will look good on a particular wand though. :D
Thank you. I actually just uploaded another vid today about coloring wood and discuss how I make my ebonizing fluid in it among other things: ua-cam.com/video/lJWf2biyQds/v-deo.html If you prefer to skip the details, it's made from steel wool and distilled vinegar. Thanks for watching!
HAHA, yeah, from the angle of the camera it looks a LOT closer than it actually is. I probably SHOULD take off my watch, but I've taken a close look to see where my danger zones are when using these chuck jaws and I'm staying well away from them. Maybe I'll try a more overhead view at some point. :D
Very nice. I am surprised you don't use a story stick for this pattern

Nice design and I love the color changes. What are you using for “ebonizing fluid”?

@@mythimpressions Awesome. I’ll check it out!
Lovely craftmanship, keep it up!
But please remove your wrist watch, it is scary close to the lathe.
Stay safe.
