Thanks so much ! I followed your entire procedure. The blades were sticked together, and I managed to clean the lens and make aperture ring work again. 😊😊😊😊
Thank you much for the video. I had to get rid of the aperture blades because they were broken and I didn’t really need them for my night vision setup. Easy to follow you are the best. Saved you on my playlist :)
I had a go disasembling this lens today to clean fungus off. Didn't go as far as taking apart the bottom half though. The right size rubber lens tool is very important to remove the name ring. The right size screwdriver head is important too.
Hi, this 58mm lens apparently comes in 2 versions, a mark 1 (1964) and mark 2 (1966 or 1968), and according to page 8 of the Canon T90 manual, the first one can't be mounted to the camera but the second one can. How to tell the two versions apart? I've scoured the internet but can't find any information on their differences.
The Canon FL lens is the earlier generation and replaced by the FD lens. Based on a quick search the Canon T90 has an FD mount so it will work with FD lenses. The lens in the video is an FL. FD lenses are backwards compatible with earlier cameras with FL mounts but not the other way around. Perhaps you can use a lens adapter with the FL lens to fit the FD cameras I don't know.
@@watdahel my lens is wobbly and has slight haze in the outer edges. Ballpark on Price to fix it? Also does the lens need to be recorded after such service or not?
recoating a lens is not economical even if you find someone who will do it and will cost more than the lens is worth. The haze may be cleaned depending on how severe the fungus is.

Glad it helped!
Thank you for this! I cleaned out my stuck aperture blades with this guide.
Nice work!

Everything is important. This lense is much more complicated than the newer SSC 1,8 and 1,4
I was thinking about buying one with broken aperture on ebay. After watching this video - I see it's not worth it

@@zart3374 What do you mean record the lens? If you can provide videos or pictures of your problem I can better get an idea what you're dealing with.
