Then get some tissues and watch this version from 6 months earlier, even better imo: youtu . be / kJ095S0MmnA This one can also bring the tears, so beautiful a cappella version of her own song "Through The Eyes Of A Child": youtu . be / CFzExUN1N8I
This was my gateway song to Aurora's world and once I heard it there was no turning back. I watched it and by the end had unexplainable tears. Her gift is undeniable.
The lyrics can be a bit confusing...but it sounds like you got the important part in the beginning. It is about a young girl going through a rough time for an unknown reason that uses movies and media as an escape. The beginning of the song is pretty straight forward in setting that up, but the bulk of the song is a mish mash of scenes she sees in the different movies and media. In the end she is left saddened by how people treat each other on earth (as seen in the images she has watched) and wonders if there is life on mars...probably as yet another escape into fantasy to get away from the ugly realities of earth.
If you like this performance, I highly recommend you watch this one privately. The same song by Aurora from ~6 month before this one where she plays an old Fender Rhodes keyboard herself in my opinion it is even better: youtu . be / kJ095S0MmnA Regarding David Bowie's lyrics they are VERY enigmatic: "In 1971 Bowie summed up the song as "A sensitive young girl's reaction to the media." In 1997, he added: "I think she finds herself disappointed with reality ... that although she's living in the doldrums of reality, she's being told that there's a far greater life somewhere, and she's bitterly disappointed that she doesn't have access to it." "
the version she is playing this live is even better, if you want another incredibly amazing cover (maybe better than the original) check out aurora singing famous blue raincoat
Nice reaction. Her version of this song that she performed at Nidarosdomen with her band and orchestra is much better. She sounded a little nervous in this video, her voice sounded a little shaky. I love whatever this talented young lady sings, especially live.
I actually prefer this performance to the others. She may have been a bit nervous at first, but once she got into it - as usual - she lost herself totally into it and delivered like only she can.
So oh my God I did you so much Jess I was just thinking this is the Howard Stern show I was on this show to meet ACD C you know the band of your motherland. I could show you clips it's on the net too
Sailors fighting, law men arresting wrong guy... is there life on mars?... Basically, he wonders whats wrong with this planet, do they behave the same on another planet (mars).. Aurorora breaks down his music and his lyrics very delicately and precisely.. I think :/

Don't feel bad, I cry at a lot of Aurora's songs.

I've heard that even the Gorns from "Star Trek" like Aurora's music. So whenever I listen to her, all I can think of is "GORNS!!! GORNS!!! GORNS!!!"

I liked Bowie to some degree, but Aurora sounds so much better and it is impossible not to love her.
Yes there is something really special about her.

The song is basically Bowie’s take on Capitalism and the fact that we are all in a show and most aren’t even aware of that fact
How can you not know that song is a cover of a david Bowie original?
I don’t think I know any David Bowie songs.
