Took a 25 foot whipper 2 moves after the crux last weekend because I was not prepared. This will definitely help me for the next time I lead this, and hopefully send.
Grew up in New Paltz, lost count of how many times I’ve climbed High E. Live out west now and haven’t been back in ages, but this video quickly took me right back; thanks.
Gunks overhangs, classic. Takes me back to my climbing there in the early 1970’s. Most underrated 5.6 I climbed, appropriately named, nothing below but air!
Thanks for the beta!! Drove down from Maine last week primarily to do this and this video was a huge help in putting me at ease through the roof. It's such a great climb. It was also nice running into you with other guides from Maine!!
Even though the first pitch is way less interesting id love to see a video of how you protect it! I always find I have bad rope drag on the first pitch. Great Video BTW!
Isn't that a kick! Such a remarkable route, so aptly named, honestly a 5.6... IF your head is in the right place. Nicely done, even if you did have some drone buzzing along.
I think it was a #4 but I've always used a #3. (Don't forget to extend with a LONG sling) And a small cam can go in the horizontal crack at your feet just before "the move"
I've never seen climbing filmed like this and it looks great. Fantastic!
Thank you - so glad you like it!

Oh - so glad to hear! And congratulations. :)
Best video of High E so far!
Thank you!
how are you rigging the 360 camera? off your waist?
Trade secret. 😜
Such an amazing video! My heart is pumping!
I wanted to get on this climb before, but now I have to! Worlds most fun 5.6
Haha - you probably should!
Did this back in 1973 before cams 2nd trip to the gunks first 5.6 still like this climb today
Back in the day of painter's pants and EB's :)
Nice!
Wildest 5.6 in the world? Nice climb!
That's the gunks for you
Could be!

I'll put it on the list! :)

No drone harmed (or used) for this one. :)
Great looking footage! Looks like a fun climb
What setup do you use for the 360 cam? Like a selfie stick on your backpack?
Yes - insta360
Wow very cool camera setup! I love this route!
Classic!
Nicely done.
Thanks!
great video but why not just no music?
you can mute it
@@eo333 yes but just saying the natural sounds would be nice
The mic isn't great on it.
Never tired the right side of the roof. Have always climbed the left. Gotta try the right it looks good.
Oh - interesting!
YEah this is a much superior way to capture climbing, the bouncing and swinging of the camera makes everything way more 3d.
Glad you like it!
Well done!!
Thank you!
I could tell you wanted to run the top out, you have it all day! Take me up there, please!!!
Haha - happy to!
@@silasrossi I’ve been waiting to hear this response, this summer would be great!
Great video!
Thank you!
Amazing video, you clearly have this wired!
One of the benefits of guiding in the Gunks. :)
Not the hardest climb but still one of my favorites in the Gunks!
So good!
His 360 pole is in his backpack
Cam angle is sick
Thank you!
How are you getting that video angle?
Dude this!
:)
Dude we need to know how you rigged that camera up like that
Secret stuff... 😉
Hey, what's your camera set-up? It looks sick 👌
Top secret. :)
The route he climbed is not High Exposure
Nice variation though
Lol - what the heck are you talking about?!
nice..but the ugly music distracts
You're welcome to push the mute button. 😆
What size cam did you place in the large crack before 'the move'?
That was a #3 BD
Nice climb with a cool perspective!
@@indnexistence I'm leaning towards a #5. Looks bigger than a 3 and looks purple.

#3 Camalot with 120cm sling. A #4 would work too.
Man influencers really milk that small roof after the #5/4
Watcha mean? Are you saying that I'm an influencer? And that I was "milking the roof"? How so? 😂
When I lead that pich it was in December 4 years ago and it was in the 40s 🧗♂️👍
Nice work!
