There’s nothing wrong with learning from other people, even when you are the expert. Michael is one of if not the most accomplished martial artists to ever become an actor. He holds black belts in seven different martial arts and may one day get his eighth in Brazilian jujitsu. He is a wealth of knowledge and Francis does not have to apply anything he says either. An ideal student will always take the opportunity to learn from the experienced, even if it is not directly applicable.

I know that Michael Jai White has never stepped in an MMA gym to train unless he gets to latch his name onto another UFC fighter. He's done that with Jon Jones and now he's done it with Francis Ngannou. He's trying to SHOW everyone that he's a legitimate fighter instead of just proving that he is one.

Wrong. He's never competed in MMA in particular, bur he competed a lot in karate championships with various rulesets (and won several of them) when he was younger before he became an actor. White also has black belts in jiujitsu and Tang Soo Do, but as far as I know he hasn't actually ever competed in those publicly.

Even just searching "Michael Jai White karate tournament" here on UA-cam will instantly find you videos of him participating in tournaments as a teenager back in 1987. I've also seen footage of him in tournaments from his early 20s as well, but those are harder to find.

There’s nothing wrong with learning from other people, even when you are the expert. Michael is one of if not the most accomplished martial artists to ever become an actor. He holds black belts in seven different martial arts and may one day get his eighth in Brazilian jujitsu. He is a wealth of knowledge and Francis does not have to apply anything he says either. An ideal student will always take the opportunity to learn from the experienced, even if it is not directly applicable.
