Thought I'd be the only Phantom phan looking for The Resurrection of Lazarus. We should start a club.
Ahahaha
I'm here too
Same😂😂
I started a Movement to KEEP PHANTOM ON BROADWAY! Please join me, and help my Movement achieve its goal! KEEP PHANTOM ON BROADWAY!
11 years after this comment was made and this is exactly what I’m doing here 😂❤️
I think this is so funny the only people that listen to this are people that have read the Phantom of the Opera XD
Yep. I would know because that applies to me lol.
Yep. That’s the reason I’m here lol
I was curious on what it sounded like
I was looking for this comment. 🤣☺️
This Lazarus was composed by Joshua D. Carney, the Lazarus that Christine was listening to was composed by Shubert
im reading it for the 4th time this week
The Phantom of the Opera brought me here :)
Same here!
Me too!!! I just started reading the book again, its been alot of years now, and I just got to the part where Christine was at her father's grave and this was being played on a violin.
oh god me too
Yep I'm reading the book right now and I'm about halfway though. But is this the actual song they were talking about in the book?
~:~
Me too, Raul is in the graveyard...
Yes, The Phantom of the Opera brought me here too. I TRULY appreciate the fact that people take time while reading a phenomenal book. The book is a legend and the music mentioned in the book are legendary too. People who take time out to sit back and explore such music because of the book they are reading, I love them and their dedication.
More like the PHANTOMenal book
Same!
❤
Same
Exactly! I wonder if this Sing has the same Melody as Angel of Music from our beloved Broadway Musical! KEEP PHANTOM ON BROADWAY!
Oh boy, we`re all phans.
are you me?
Lol yeah
Yeah
This song is so beautiful,so is the book Phantom of the Opera from Gaston Leroux.Magnificently done both the music and book.I am so pleased to see so many people love Phantom as much as I do it has personally inspired my life not only for music but also on other aspects of life. Such a beautiful song Erik played for Christina from the book.
Christine, actually.
Yes, that’s right.
I'm so glad there are people left in the world who have the common courtesy to sit down and read a proper book.
Hey my Phantom fans! Good to see we're all doing our research!
Phantom of the Opera brought me here
I was also looking for the piece Gaston Leroux mentioned...
Oh my Phantom Phans we go soooo in depth on our Leroux research! Haha....I was looking it up too!
phantom phans. phantom phans everywhere
Ellie Johnson yas
phantom_phanatic Yes 👌🏻👌🏻
@ThePhantomFanatic
Leroux's novel was written in the early 1900s. This piece of music was composed in 2007 and has no affiliation with Phantom. I know because I am the composer.
Wow! I think I can tell, but excellent job!
You did a great job ! I'm looking for the piece mentionned in the book, do you have any idea where I could find it ?
So I'm not the only phantom phan who's looking for that particular song? Yay:-)
While I'm a very big fan of Erik(the phantom), I would have to say that though this isn't the song described in the book (for obvious reasons), it's still a very beautifully composed song and though I'm terrible at violin I'd love to have the sheet music someday! You're a great composer.
I finally found this song. This is the song Gaston Leroux was talking about in The Phantom of the Opera.
Hi phans!!!! Am I the only one who's come to listen to this music these days?
Looks like I'm a little late to the party although this isn't the first time I've looked for this piece being performed, I was specifically looking for a violin solo. I too am a phan (30+ years). I bought a violin today and will be starting lessons soon (yes, because of the phantom... Love you Erik).
I’ve been playing violin for 8 years. Violin was the reason why I loved phantom so much. I wish you luck on your violin endeavors
I, too, love Erik, who is also known as The Phantom, so much! KEEP PHANTOM ON BROADWAY!
A yes, a fellow collection of Phantom readers.
Gaston Leroux, Mlle. Daae, Raoul...and our Angel...
This song was composed by the conductor we see in the video. Apparently the song mentioned in the book is unknown
"The Resurrection of Lazarus is almost as important in The Phantom as Faust. The only problem is that no one has any idea what Leroux is talking about. Since every other piece of music in the novel is traceable, it seems unlikely Leroux would have made this one up as a plot device."
@ThePhantomFanatic
Johann Carl Gottfried Loewe's "At the Tomb of Lazarus" is often thought of as the piece of music mentioned in the novel.
Had no clue only Phantom of The Opera readers looked up this song, I'd like to add myself to this list.
I too came here looking for the piece Leroux mentions inthe book. But I'm glad it lead me here, as that's a fine piece you wrote!
so im not the only one who is phan here!
I don't know... am I the only one who thinks this music has been derived and used in the 1989 movie version of the Phantom of the Opera with Robert Englund playing Erik. Also there was an actual scene in the movie where Erik plays Christine's father's violin when Christine goes to visit his grave. I am not a genius with music and all but I think he was playing The Resurrection of Lazarus on the violin. And that scene was so much like the part from the book.
Oh dear, so this is where Phantom Phans meet... :)
Dude that's what I'm looking for.
I don't think this is it, though.
Aargh.
Why is it so difficult.
I went to itunes and found The Resurrection of Lazarus Carl Loewe), which is a whole choral work. I listened to all the samples that itunes provided. Every piece was melodic but all were choral works. No violin solos as such, but any of the selections would be beautiful played on the violin, I'm sure. (Picturing Phantom in the cemetary, playing)
BTW I am loving this piece, Mr. Carney.
I'm in that part of the book.... I had to come fund this to paint the full picture
Ok, raise your hand that one who came here and didn’t read The Phantom of the Opera.
Here I am too!
Reading Gaston Leroux's book.
Ahahaha
Reading 'The Phantom of the Opera' now. Thought I'd better check this number out.
Okay... this ain’t the piece from Phantom of the Opera, but this is still bumping
Yes it doesn't make sense that a solo violinist would sound like this. So then, what is the piece played by the phantom in the cemetery?
I can't believe how much ppl came here because of the book. Yes, me too
@ThePhantomFanatic Haha, that's what brought me here!
Another phantom phan, here!
Me too..
Phantom brought me here too, trying to also find the wedding night song from romeo and juliet
I came here because of Christine, and I was surprised to see so many comments. I love Gaston Leroux's novel, I love Leroux's Christine, and I'm trying to find more information about her. But still, at the beginning of the video it is written that this music was written by the author of the channel. And the fact that Christine's father played the violin, isn't that Schubert's opera The Resurrection of Lazarus?
Just read the comment on how this is not the song... Fail
Hi phans
Bailey San Miguel Hello there
What was the music that Raoul heard in the churchyard? …The music was from The Resurrection of Lazarus.✅
@ThePhantomFanatic Ik. I read about it too, so I'm all like "What is this song anyways?"
The Tuba player got to shine for a moment. Sousa marches tend to relegate the Tubas to the oompa-loompa bass line, so it's nice to see some more articulate tuba work than what we hear most of the time, there. Go tubas!
Gaston Leroux brought me here
The Phantom brought me here also.
Hello phans can anyone pls remind me how phantom stole that horse Caesar?
He stole him from the stables in the opera cellars, on the Rotunda side. He was one of 12 horses that the stable kept for a production.
yet another phan here 😂
@jcarneycomposer oh! Well technically speaking even though you are right with the early 1900s it was exactly 1905. And At the Tomb of Lazarus was too depressing to be the song the late Monseir Daae played. The right song is The Resurrection of Lazarus which is very similar to your song because I have heard it once before.
Is it me or is this similar to the melody of a countless Phantom Of The Opera songs
Phantom Phans, unite!
vim pelo fantasma da opera
Well, I’m here because of the phantom of the opera ✋
Came here from phantom
Hello fellow Phans
This doesn’t sound very much like Angel of Music. That’s what I expected.
