I don't go back too often to grab extra items. Our meals are typically fairly simple and we eat a lot of the same things over and over. We do go back weekly for fresh food, so that helps too. 😊
When I go grocery shopping I look for deals to stock up the pantry as well for extra in case of emergencies. I also think of our pantry in terms of two-three months and if I can get that stocked up and meaning one less grocery run or errand makes my life easier.

Love your idea for m&m’s with peanuts & raisins. Usually I buy a ready-mix of peanuts, raisins & chocolate chips, but generally you only find them at Christmas here. I’m definitely going to make my own mix with m&m’s - sounds delicious!
I live in the UK and have just discovered your channel. Definitely going to be my new go to binge watch!!😁 I eat my chilli with rice next to it and a bit of cheese on top.🍚 I don't think cornbread is a thing here but I'm not sure. The first time I ever heard of cornbread with chilli was when I tried it in Disneyland. Watching American food shop videos makes me want to live there so bad😂 Although I find it crazy how everything there seems to be just in bulk😂 and also prices seem to be quite high but I'm not sure.
Hi Emma in the UK! Amazing how different people eat their chili all around the world! 😊 Someone else from Europe thought our prices were high, but many others thought it was much cheaper. I suppose it depends on where you live. We have the same issue in the US. Some places are significantly more expensive than others. 🤷🏻♀️What did you think of cornbread with chili when you tried it?
Also she was shopping at a "bulk" store, this is a store designed specifically for people who want to buy large amounts. These stores usually require a paid membership to access. There are tons of stores with normal, smaller sizes. These are free to the public. Lol!!!
British ex-pat here. I feel ya! People over here cook so differently, but I'm lucky that my hubby likes his chili Brit style. This is kind of an odd video as this woman is buying a lot of items in Sam's that are so expensive compared to equivalent prices in Walmart or Aldi. I used to have a Sam's Club membership myself, but their price per ounce or lb for many products is a LOT higher than Walmart, so I decided that paying the $45 a year wasn't worth it for me. Granted a few things are cheaper if you are buying in bulk, but some are very deceptive, like the " pancake syrup" which is just HFCS with a pretty label and not healthy at all. The peanuts, frozen berries, cheezits also are much cheaper to buy at Walmart than Sams. Sams is good for bulk cooking oils and cheeses (sometimes) and their pre-roasted chickens are delish !
Sam's also uses a lot of tricks too ... like that spinach she showed with "1 pound" on the pack in huge text. The Walmart equivalent is a dollar cheaper and 18 ounces, so its a lot cheaper per ounce overall.
Their real good. Clean them and dry them on the inside and out. I cut them up and use them in my stir-fry and meat loafs. Whatever u use bell pepper and onions.
I live in Germany and i'm shocked that this grocery haul was so cheap here we would pay for everything 1000 euros and the packages are way smaler than in america thats so crazy
I had a grilled cheese sandwich with my chili once at a bar and grill place and it was so good. I tried peanut butter sandwich with chili and wasn’t a fan of it. Sometimes I’ll add elbow pasta with my chili for chili Mac. I tried Nutella many times and I don’t like it. I cook my chicken breast in oven at 350 for 2 hours and I don’t precut them. I do cut the fat off before I cook it. I also feel like Sams club don’t have a lot of non diary items, vegan or gluten free items.
I just stumbled on your videos this morning and I am absolutely obsessed. In my family when it’s chili night we go a complete different way and we have chili and cinnamon rolls. That is what my family always done. We live in Wyoming

Love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing! I am a Midwesterner myself (Iowa) with 4 kids (boys) now living in California (Navy). I’m still trying to figure out how to feed these people without breaking the bank. So glad to get some ideas from you! Wish we had meijer! Costco and ALDI will have to do. Anyway, thanks for all of your advice on all things mothering, homeschooling, and wifing!😄
Hi Sarah! Thanks for hanging out with me! ❤️ We have hopes of someday moving to California, so… guess we’re twins! 😂 Marcus and I often wonder what it’s going to be like when the kids are teenagers… how will we ever keep them full?! 🤪 do you ever shop at the commissary? How are the prices?
Midwest here (Illinois). We ate peanut butter and honey sandwiches with our chili. 😊
With honey... I haven't heard that one. 😊
You need to try Rao’s pasta sauce. Yes it cost more money, but it’s awesome and organic. Great ingredients and we are in love with it.
BEST SAUCE EVER. besides bravo. XD
I've seen it before, but I can't remember if we tried it. 🤔 We'll have to give it a try! Thanks for the idea! 😊
@@Thegrocerylady your welcome. I went to Sams Club today. Classico is like the same thing to, but 3 jars for 32 ounces is the same price than Rao’s. We decided to buy that instead so it will lady is for a while.
@@erinburns5385 😊
Absolutely love this sauce. Always worth the cost
Sour cream, shredded cheese, and cornbread. Nothing more, nothing less! :-)
Nothing more, nothing less! Love that chili confidence! 😁
Hey
So I grew up in West Virginia and we always had cornbread with chili. Then I came to Ohio and the school I taught at used to serve a peanut butter sandwich with chili for lunch no jelly. It was actually super good!
Chili and a PB sandwich? Don’t knock it till I try it, right? 🙂
WV gal too..same with me
@@BrendaJBarNett Sounds like WV is my kind of place! 😊
I understand this so much I only shop once a month for food and save a little for in between for like meat or vegetables from food stamps just in case and it barely last me the full months now
We eat chili with buttered bread! Or saltines. We're from Michigan, we recently moved to Ohio Ohio eating chili with spaghetti is the way to go here. Not in this house though lol
😂 "not in this house" 😂
Yes!! I am from North Dakota and we eat chili with bread or saltines. Sometimes people here put it on top of a baked potato or on top of a hotdog
Hi, i’m so glad I stumbled upon your channel. I really enjoyed your shopping haul. I’m from England and my kids love Sour Patch Sweets, so just showed them the ice cream! Love your idea for m&m’s with peanuts & raisins. Usually I buy a ready-mix of peanuts, raisins & chocolate chips, but generally you only find them at Christmas here. I’m definitely going to make my own mix with m&m’s - sounds delicious!
You’ll have to keep me updated if you make your own mix. M&M’s make everything better! Also welcome to the channel! So glad you’re here.
Hey
I live in the UK and have just discovered your channel. Definitely going to be my new go to binge watch!!😁
I eat my chilli with rice next to it and a bit of cheese on top.🍚 I don't think cornbread is a thing here but I'm not sure.
Sams is good for bulk cooking oils and cheeses (sometimes) and their pre-roasted chickens are delish
!
Sam's also uses a lot of tricks too ... like that spinach she showed with "1 pound" on the pack in huge text. The Walmart equivalent is a dollar cheaper and 18 ounces, so its a lot cheaper per ounce overall.
Georgia (currently living) eats their chili with cinnamon rolls. South Carolina I grew up eat PB&J with veggie soup. Chili we had cornbread as well.
Pb&J with veggie soup?! I’ve never heard of that combo.
I get my flossers at dollar tree. They work just as good.
Good to know! Thank you!!
There is a resurant here in Cali that serves pb&j burgers and shakes... And yes the burger has meat and mayo and all veggies
What?!?! Have you tried it??
Yes I have it's good
It honestly set my anxiety on high alert that you got your ice cream and continued to shop more. Lol
Oh no. I'm so sorry! 😂It never caused me a problem, but maybe I'll have to save it for the end next time! I don't want be causing anxiety attacks! 😳🤣
Lol thank you for the consideration. You do what’s best for you. I was just like “that’s gonna melt” as you continued to shop. Lol
I do consider that sometimes, but I guess I was living on the wild side! 😂
You can freeze peppers. I always slice them up.
😊 How will the texture be when I defrost them?
Their real good. Clean them and dry them on the inside and out. I cut them up and use them in my stir-fry and meat loafs. Whatever u use bell pepper and onions.
@@donnagrimes4323 thank you!! This is great news!
You would benefit hugely from a mask with a wire across the nose - you'll actually be able to wear it effectively
Agreed! My wire was a bit worn. 😬
As a kid when we had chili at school for lunch it always came with a peanut butter sandwich
I still need to try it. I don’t actually remember my schools serving chili… 🤔
I live in Germany and i'm shocked that this grocery haul was so cheap here we would pay for everything 1000 euros and the packages are way smaler than in america thats so crazy
Hallo! So crazy how different prices are even from state to state.
Sam's club is a bulk store so everything is much bigger then the normal grocery stores.
You also have to pay for a membership to go there.
Sad that you don’t like Nutella, but to each their own. 😊
350 for 2 hours… I haven’t tried that.
Love egg noodles with just butter and salt parm cheese.
Ooo! Yes. 😋
I just stumbled on your videos this morning and I am absolutely obsessed. In my family when it’s chili night we go a complete different way and we have chili and cinnamon rolls. That is what my family always done. We live in Wyoming
Hello to you in Wyoming. I have family in Gillette, WY. I have heard of this chili/cinnamon roll combo from viewers, but have yet to try it. Do you dip it in the chili or just eat it as part of the meal?
@@Thegrocerylady hello, I have family in Gillette too, and we serve the cinnamon rolls along with the meal. It’s a delicious combo, my husband is truly obsessed needs his chili and cinnamon rolls once a month during cold months. Best cinnamon rolls are homemade by the pioneer woman
@@mischelsticka6958 I LOVE ALL things Pioneer Woman. I'm using 5 of her recipes in the next week. She's the best.
@@Thegrocerylady I agree I love the cinnamon rolls recipe best we ever had
Am I the only one who thinks snacks in America are way too sweet?😂
I have to start in the store at the same place too. I organize my list in the order that I circle through the store.
I go to Produce, meats, cheeses, eggs, yogurt, milk/creamer, canned goods, frozen, Hygiene, baking, cereal & chips & I end right in front of the registers
Brilliant. We would be great shoppers together!
Hi. Just found your channel after you popped up on my YT front page. I'm over in the UK and we eat our chilli typically with rice. Or as chilli & cheese nachos. 😍
Hi Natalie! It seems like UK and chili with rice are the way to go! Yum!
I love Sam club thanks showing this
Hey
First day of chilli we eat just in a bowl with some sour cream green onion and shredded cheese and some type of baked bread or corn bread . If we made enough for a few days will eat the chilli over rice to make it go further
I like the chili over rice idea. Sounds tasty!
@@Thegrocerylady it is . We just use white minute rice for nights we have left over chili quick and easy and you have a fast filling meal
@@tanyasweetheart529 What a great idea!
My single mom (who I live with) is a hippie so we just each chilli with vegetables, and if we’re feeling a little carb starved, we have it with garlic bread
Chili and vegetables... my non-hippie dad would LOVE that! I like the garlic bread idea!
Hi 👋 Meghan .... I’m pressing my subscribe button because I enjoyed watching your video 😄😄 now I’m a new subbie here 😄😄 Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 Meghan n your family too 👍🏻
Hi Marta! Happy to have you here!! 😊 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!!
@@Thegrocerylady Happy New Year 🎆 too, Sister 👍🏻
Hi
Jasmine and Basmati are top tier, loved rice
If you haven’t I would suggest trying peanut butter with honey and a sliced banana. It’s very good even on bread and you toast it like a grilled cheese
I LOVE that combo, but I've never toasted it before... interesting idea! Sounds tasty!
I have lived in North Dakota & Minnesota all my love and we have cinnamon rolls with our chili.
I'm intrigued by the cinnamon roll/chili combo... 🤔
I grew up having chilli with rice and then when i got older found out most people do it with bread i like it both ways.
It is good both ways for sure! 😊
Hey
I put my chili over potatoes and top with avocado, cheese and sour cream!

I love my chili with Fritos or cornbread of course with onions and cheese. In fact we just had this last night so good
Yum!! I do love the Frito idea! 😋
I'm from cali and my family eats our chili over top of a baked potato.. so yummy, with cornbread on the side haha
Sounds tasty! Especially the cornbread! 😋
First time watching. We are a family of 6 but 1 is too small to eat. I like the scented trash bags. We don't use that many paper towels probably 2 rolls a month so that big thing would last like a year. Chili with cheese on top and cinnamon rolls.
Hello Sherri! Thanks for watching. We are big paper towels users for sure! Cinnamon rolls... Many people have mentioned that combo... sounds like I need to give it a try.
Hey
I never heard PB and J and chili, but it was always veggie soup and PB and J at my school growing up for lunch!
Never heard of that combo. The world is an interesting place.
